Is it common for a sensor to go after a gearbox service? We have this situation right now and mechanic is saying a sensor needs replacing. They did a g/box service only 3 days ago
No, it's not common and shouldn't be connected with service. What comes to my mind, there may be an issue with some electrical connector. Also, I would get a second opinion here because if you see this message right after service, the fluid should be checked. Driving a lot is not recommended till you find out what's wrong.
@DmitrySapko it was advised not to drive so it's at mechanic until we can find out if covered by any warranty. They appear to be decent genuine people but it's no cheap fix. They've offered to repair with no labour charge but still $1500 AUD (australia)
I want to think it might be battery related on my side, because the air pressure sensors are also confused. This message then appeared yesterday, i have to say i was driving in scorching heat and it happened when i was shifting to sport mode
Hi, i use a TIGUAN TDI 2019, the message appered in my console, and when i switcged it off and turned on , it dissaperaed for 25 kms and again started, i sent it to ASC for check up , hey did not mention anything about mechatronics etc , they said the oil sump is leaking oil and the erroe may be becaouse of it. is that true.
It's not likely to be the reason, but still possible. If nothing changes in the car's behavior, I wouldn't jump into conclusions and would keep observing it. Check the fluid level in the transmission though.
Hi, this message has reappeared. I have read somewhere that gearbox oil for DSG is recommended to be changed at 40k. Could this issue can be caused by this? Really want to explore the other option first as I’m worried it’ll be quite costly.
I'm sure it's not because of dsg fluid. What's the scenario when the message pops up? Is it still under warranty? You can use the advantage of warranty, in this case. Actually, a good independent mechanic with a good scanner will help. There's a bunch of minor things that can trigger this.

Yes, fixing modern cars is indeed expensive. I hope warranty helps!

Yes, might be voltage-related. But if it reappears, some more attention is certainly needed.
Well I tested again after resetting the battery, the issue is still there. Now I definitely have to get it checked out 😢

You should only worry if it reappears. Looks like some sporadic glitch.
