  • We try to make some hay but the weather has other plans and we end up making small bale haylage. There’s lots of machinery in this video. Massey Ferguson 390, Massey Ferguson 240, pz drum mower, pz haybob, new Holland 68 square baler and the case 4230 #hay #farmer #tractor #farmlife

      There’s still a little hope I’ve 1 field left but if the weather isn’t here by the start of August it will have to go into round bales. That little wrapper came out of England a few years ago it’s handy in years like this.

    Never understand why anyone would make idiot blocks to wrap so labour intensive . Great video youngman

      @@MichaelBradley-j6z thank you. It’s all about the money the wrapped idiot bricks make £7 a bale which works out at £115 for the same amount of grass in 1 round bale that you would only get £25 for

      @@bobpaterson1845 They are 30kg+ you need the weight to keep them on the wrapper. You know all about it after lifting them.

      Would you be packing them more than a hay bale? How do you think the bale count compares ?
      Seems to take a nice bit of time to wrap them but an excellent way to fed small stock in winter without big bales spoiling

    • @TheClassicFarmer
      @TheClassicFarmer  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@philipoconnor2236 bale count goes down about 10% they are packed a bit tighter and the extra moisture makes up the rest. Wrapping is slow and expensive but they sell for a premium and work well like you say with small stock numbers.
