    I have the exact same sliders - and yes they are beautiful. And yes, they are not what RRO described for real world use.
    At first I was looking for side steps that would help with some off-roading versus being an issue and for that they are fine.
    However- I have a week long overlanding trip scheduled for this June through the Rockies and had getting these welded on my "to do" list for prep. I will move that up on the list now, thank you.
    I also experienced their terrible customer service as one slider was received damaged (forklift gash right on top where you would step) and the response was identical to what you said. I had to threaten legal action to get the slider replaced.

    I'm looking for some sliders for a Ford F250 Superduty (no hard wheeling; just a little protection for the fire roads and backcountry camping). Found the Rocky Road Outfitters body mounted sliders and so started searching for reviews and found this. Looks like they would work for my non-heavy use, but a company's customer service is a good measure of them as a whole. I'll cross Rocky Road Outfitters off my list and keep looking. Thanks for posting.
    We went with Westcott Design sliders for our 4runner, which bolt to the frame, and love them. Once installed, I had a clearance question regarding the emergency brake line and a question of how to care for a superficial scuff from shipping company handling so I emailed them. That day, Jeff himself called me and answered all my questions and took care of everything. I'm in the process of begging Westcott to make sliders for the Ford Superduty. Ha. (If anyone else is looking for superduty sliders, please email westcott! the more people they hear from the more likely they are to introduce them. Thanks!)

    I hate to see this....I've often wanted to buy products from Rocky Road Outfitters (for my Samurai) but their ridiculously long lead times and non-existent customer service record makes them a no go. I actually remember seeing the owner (Glenn Wakefield IIRC) on an episode of House Hunters International where he was buying a home in Mexico. Five months to get a set of sliders?....did he have to mine the ore and process it? That is just B.S. The reality is a LOT of off road business are robbing Peter to pay Paul. They wait until they get enough orders or monies to come in to do a production run and lie about why they can't deliver. They have nothing on the shelf. They are usually cut off by their suppliers so they are on COD. Any company that takes five months to deliver sliders is in a financial crunch and utilizing questionable business practices to keep the doors open.

    • @treehouseoffroad
      @treehouseoffroad  Год назад

      Yeah from what RRO staff tells me the owner is always travelling to remote places. That was one of their reasons they couldn't resolve my issue, bc the owner didn't have cell coverage....🤔

    • @treehouseoffroad
      @treehouseoffroad  Год назад

      To be clear I was not convinced they would hold up, my rear doors started rubbing the sliders the first time I used them as a hi-lift jack point. That's why I decided to become the guinea pig for the Sequoia community. These sliders hadn't been tested like this before.
