This is why I adored Oblivion! No joke I might even like it more than Skyrim, I’ve certainly played it more often and it has the nostalgia bonus of being my first Elder Scrolls game ever
I feel you there its like fallout 3 to New Vegas. Everyone sucks New Vegas c*ck. But i had more fun playing 3. Oblivions whole atmosphere is way better imo. But we need 1000 remasters of Skyrim.
Is it because, you could imagine yourself comfortably sleeping under the stars in temperate climates ? Because, even if i absolutely love Skyrim, i think my love for Oblivion is a little bit higher just because of that. And it helps for the immersion.
@robinenbernhard turned 40 last year and had to have a back op & 10 weeks off work, so I picked a copy in from cex for £2.50 and it was still as amazing as I remembered it!
Came for the citities, stayed for the immersion. (I didn't actually see it when it said "citities" but I couldn't help myself) For years I've had various elder scrolls ambience playing in the background while I do pretty much anything. Today I came across your channel and I'm absolutely in love! I adore the way you pet the horse's head or just look up and admire the scenery around you. It truly is very immersive and I will be coming back to this video over and over again until I've watched it all. Then probably watch it again. I am now happily subscribed and so happy I came across your channel. This is beautiful work and I, like many others, am uplifted by watching this incredible journey you've created. THANK YOU! ❤️
Haha yeah classic me I'm terrible with spelling..or was it a mistake... Seriously though I'm truly happy to hear you enjoyed my little shenanigans. I don't get alot of comments about the little stuff I do in my videos. So it's nice to see you enjoyed them. I'm planning more relaxing videos in the future. And thank ya for all your kindness and positivity, you made my day :)
I think this is a perfect example of why I love The Elder Scrolls as a series. They aren't always the most perfectly executed, but I've never minded that as much. But I think this video shows why exactly. Most RPGs, even open world, there's still primarily objectives that you pursue. While they have nice moments of quiet, and beautiful scenery, it feels different from The Elder Scrolls, and I truly think it is because the NPCs have schedules that they follow every day. The world in The Elder Scrolls games continues on whether you interact with it or not. Life simply happens around you, and I feel like that's not an experience you get in games all that often. I do love that we see it more often now, though, especially with games like The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2. The Elder Scrolls was the first game to give me an experience like that, though, so it stands out in my mind as THE game that offers it, even if the technology for it has been polished since then.
Very good point. Some people tend to point out that the Gothic games also have npc with schedules, but It certainly isn't to the same level of Oblivion, where almost every villager tend to have a small quirky or backstory.
Starting at 17:50 and running to about 19:25 is some perfect Oblivion NPC dialogue if you've heard about it, but never actually heard it in action. "Fine. Be that way."
I love love love this video!!! I always try to put on Morrowind or Oblivion videos but the combat sometimes is super loud. This one is perfect!! This is so relaxing and perfect for me. Thank you!!!
14:32 "Praise Arkay, and all her little woodland creatures! I'm Hil the Tall, Priest of Arkay." No, Hil the Tall, you're a Priest of Kynareth. Either that or you're just extremely concust.
I think I might have a heart attack from overwhelming memories attached to playing this game....all coming rushing back into my mind ....I think it's the soundtrack that did it ....back then it was just some irrelevant back ground score ...but now each note holds hidden forgotten memories of escape after trauma ...most of them are that of loneliness .... The worst are the memories of me hiding in my room when my mum was still around I wish I never played it back then so I could've spent more time with her .....it's something I have to let go I think ....this beautiful game holds to many memories
1:35:09 - I've been listening to this as I work and happened to look at the screen during this interaction... I couldn't help but let out an audible "UGGGHHH"... Oblivion's "unique" NPCs got me again
There's this moment around 2:05:00 where you see a beggar caught in the center of I believe the Elven Gardens District in the Imperial City and I can just see you thinking "I want to watch this bug play out, but I'm recording this immersive long play". Gotta love Bethesda bugs.
I love this game & it’s music tone & vibe so much- nothing compares (maybe Skyrim) but damn… something always brings me back to this game & its music, if elder scrolls vi doesn’t have Jeremy soule the game will suck

Those guards are pretty toxic and that´s already after closing the Oblivion gate next to the city - not a good immersion concept from Bethesda :D
Great
@@Bonsai983 That is Ulrich Leland. He is the only ”guard” who says that line.

Oblivion is truly magical. You don't even need to be doing a quest or fighting, just existing in that world is a good time.

Oblivion makes me feel an emotion I never thought I had
I like how subtleties of the player. When a guard walks passed, "I dont know you, and i dont CARE to know you." he sorta just looks taken aback xD
He was so rude, but I gotta admit it was hilarious lol

Well, now I want to play Oblivion again! :)
This is such good content
This is a great way to bring me back to some childhood adventuring nostalgia that I can play while I am at work. Thanks!

Games like Oblivion make me proud to be a gamer.
The personality you give just with camera movements is so great! 😂❤
Time to add this to my collection of sleep aid videos
