The best thing about this interaction is how you can clearly see how Echidna chooses her words very carefully, while saying things that might raise alarm bells in any other context.
@@doublehit9165 no she wasn’t. She was using his breakdown to manipulate him into giving her more knowledge. She knew exactly what to say in that moment to get him to give her more information. Subaru must be the bravest of his mental and physical states his has been going through dying over and over since he came to that world. I don’t think anyone would survive the pain of depression that. No one else but just him came know. Very impacting scene 11/10
He got a chance to talk about his suffering, about everything he had to survive, his despair... But Satella was looking for that guy after he said that he returns by death a hundred times
I think the reason Subaru can't talk about 'Return by Death' is because the Witch doesn't want others to know about his ability. If people found out, they could use this knowledge to trap him instead of killing him. For example, they might keep him barely alive or set up a trap checkpoint to manipulate him. But I'm not entirely sure-just my thoughts
this🎉 theres one guy who also have rbd in another anime which i forgot the title, but he bragged instead of shutting up about it because he doesnt have shackles when he wanted to talk about it like subaru. so, with that information, the enemies transform him into an immortal cube of flesh so he cant die nor do anything
Honestly If you think about it, How the hell can Subaru keep his sanity through all this loops, seeing people he cares of dying all over again and again? Same with Okabe in Steins;Gate. I know I would never be able to handle it
okabe could do it by first desensibilize himself, than to get the help of kurisu, the woman he loved to cheer him up, but alone he would never do that. he would crack soon. subaru on the other hand has something that allows to resist thiis hell loops, but we still dont know what it is. no person would ever handle that kind of thing in real life.
Yup, stein gate was depressing af. There's just no way around it and you can see Okabe trying so hard to avoid the inevitable future. So I totally gets how depressing it had been for Subaru to repeat his death over and over again. Sometimes I got triggered when my non anime friend said, just kill yourself and redo it, as if that shit is easy to bare with.
She said something heartwarming but since I have watched the continuation of this anime I know that behind her words there is a presumed intention to satisfy her greed for her knowledge 😑
@@doublehit9165 i agree. Yes, she has her own vested interest, but her actions here do not lie : she has empathy for Subaru and do not want him to be in pain. Whatever her ulterior motives she may have, it doesn't change the fact she has empathy and care for Subaru.
kobyashi yusuke what an amazing voice actor he definitely deserved that award
Agree
I just love when Voice Actors put their soul into the characters.
The english dub of Subaru was actually also very good! You could feel his sadness through the screen
She's maybe neither good or bad, but she was one hell of a therapist for Subaru ngl
Yeah, a therapist who would have mentally/emotionally/physically destroyed him had he made the contract with her.

This scene and the entire episode where he is in the trial speaking with his parents, just super fucking impactful and emotional.
