i mean in novel clearly shown subaru acted crazy in this eps. he aware what happen around his surrounding but didnt want to anything.thats y he know Geuse name even though he supposed to be crazy when Geuse told his name🤣. so yeah Geuse are right when he called subaru "slothful" bcuz he did nothing
I will never in my life forget watching this episode and just being completely awestruck as the ending sequence played.
The amount of questions I had back in 2016 after watching this. I swore to myself I would start the light novel cause I NEED to know what happens, but now that season 3 just released I may wait until that’s wrapped up and then start it

one of the best episode in anime history believe me it's not that wild the way it sounds sure there may be luck involved but the way they executed it with so perfection is amazing if it was any other anime i would've laughed when betelguese was introduced but somehow it made sense the insanity everything and then the ending with credit roll with that masterpiece ost

This episode inflicted heavy emotional damage
I think the first time I watched this episode of re:zero, it impacted me far more than any episode of any show ever has before. This episode just had that lingering sense of dread and added so many questions back to back. The ending with Subaru snapping out of his “I don’t want to do anything, I’m broken” to being so angry that it moved him to act(although anger alone doesn’t get his desired outcome either) was just a feeling I can’t put into words. This episode will live rent free in my mind for years and years and I think I’ll always come back to this show.

I think you guys are being to harsh on them, some of them are really smart. Some of them are just more sensitive like the girl on the left, some can realize a lot but cant say it out loud because of amount of information goes into their brain at ones

Don't forget that all Subaru suffering until now is just been 1 month from the day he arrived at that world,so for people who said he should train and got stronger sht up,you right but use your brain what you can accomplish from only 1 month? and 1 month is means nothing to because He barely have time to do sht.

I really like the dialogue between Betelguese and Subaru. Betelguese called out Subaru's acting, he knew that Subaru wasn't truly insane. Even though to the audience it seems like it. But I think that is the amazing thing about Subaru, even though he suffers so much he still has fight in him. Even when he is about to run away or when it seems he is about to give up, he fights. And honestly no one can blame him if he did give up (hello, Sloth:If Story).
Though one of my pet peeves here is Rem. Don't get me wrong, she is absolutely amazing. The lengths she goes to for Subaru is unmatched. In each and every death since the mansion she has always remained loyal to Subaru. But then episode 18. I get Emilia is Subaru's reason for going through all this, she is the reason he was able to do everything from episode 18 and onward but c'mon. Rem went through thick and thin for him each time and died for him without hesitation. She called him her reason for dying. I wish she got rewarded for her efforts. But the story makes it seem that choosing Rem is the wrong option because Subaru will just go back to that apple stand. And if the LN is anything to go by, I just feel even worse for Rem. Rem deserves so much happiness in her life for falling for this idiot Subaru. He needs to take out a page from Rudeus's book...
Emilia is great though, I just like Rem slightly more because of what she went through (unbeknownst to her). Hopefully down the line they all find their happiness in some way...

Something people tend to forget is that Subaru is still a teenager who is enduring a lot of things that not one single person he has met has ever endured in their lifetime. Yeah, he’s selfish and has a lot of issues that Emilia has pointed out, but at the same time, look at all he has faced and endured. I would even argue that Emilia and the others are only alive because of Subaru’s interference with Rewind by Death.
They should make a movie of this episode.That would be amazing 🔥

Facts
This anime is my favorite anime of all time, and I can understand the logic that they use. As much of a bias as I have toward this anime, they are still watching it for the first time. Don't be too harsh on them just because they didn't spend enough time thinking about it as you have. Just let them react. Just don't listen to them if you're so passionate. I like all of these reactors, and personally I just think you're being irrational.
@@kiiseanrobinson5084 It's not being irrational, I don't mind people being irritated, and annoyed at subaru however these two doesn't have anything positive for Re:Zero since the start, and if you actually listen to them you would realise that they really just have no idea what they're saying and pay absolutely no attention to either Subaru circumstances, the story, and the characters themselves. I visited their channel before and in their shorts about Re:Zero a lot of people complain to them and they themselves said that they don't like Subaru and the show, if that's the case then honestly they shouldn't react to something that they don't like instead of reacting and acting like some sort of "Sigma" pieces of shit while infact they are not.

So far in this series. Other than kobyashi yusuke (Subarus voice actor) snd beteleguse voice actor there hasn’t been anyone that has had such an insanely good performance. It’s been good but not that level.
