Notable mention: Mateusz kieliszkowski's log lift in one motion for 3 reps while everyone else had to do it in 2 motions at the Arnold Strongman Santa Monica 2019.
Great list but I'm a little surprised. My number one would have to be Z at the ASC 2016 doing 4 reps with the 205kg log and looking like he had more in the tank. Not to mention after a max deadlift too. The only other man in the field to get 1 rep was Lalas. Every other man used the lighter log and a stacked lineup of great log lifters. Even in 2019 the heavy log used was 195kg and 2 reps was the highest number. Most dominant performance I've ever seen.
I remember that, it was nuts. I also remember him absolutely smashing the natural stone to shoulder at the Arnold a few years back, which is the first time I really starting noticing him. It was insane.
Derek Poundstone lifting the unliftable stone to win Fortissimus in 2008 should have been on the list. Also, Z lifting 205kg log 4 times in arnold classic 2015, when everyone else couldn't lift it once

Just an idea for a video, wsm biggest fails. Mine was 2010 loading race Shaw vs big Z if the bag would have set that would have been Shaw’s first wsm title
The irony is, they stop the clock when the athlete's hands are off the implement. The bag was on the plinth at that point. Technically it fell off AFTER Shaw had "finished" the event.
Nevermind his WSM, Derek's a top 10 strongman for having won that and coming second in 2009! Plus his Arnolds of course. Those Fortissimus events looked crazy tough.
I loved that moment. I think he regretted not taking it more seriously. He seemed to start out just to make an effort, but then realized that it wasn’t as bad as he thought it would be and kept going.
@@MightyMax2756 yeah his friendly, humerous nature seems to be a mood lightener and sometimes you think perhaps he isn't as focused as he needs to be. He's one of my faves and a very strong guy. Was good to see him get the 3d at the ASC in 2018.

Derek Poundstone lifting the Louis Cyr stone at Fortissimus 2008 has to be the most impressive lift in my eyes. Even Zydrunas was in awe after watching that stone get lifted.
Gerrit Badenhorst’s 440kg deadlift was another awesome moment where he just dominated that event. Geoff Cape’s 1985 boat pull was another awesome event.
Big Z winning the max log against Mike Jenkins at WSM 2012 was always a standout moment for me. Never seen Big Z look so psyched up for a lift. On another note, is the podcast going to return in the future? I think I can guess why it has been put on hold after the tragedy a few weeks back. Just wanted to know if there were any plans to bring it back as it was a great series.

Sitting here thinking “if Mariusz’ power stairs isn’t on here, this list it’s bullshit”😂 also, the podium for 2009 would eventually have 13 WSM titles and 11 Arnold titles on it, plus Phil’s title back in 7th. We’ll probably never see anything like that again
imNeqtaR Im glad he included him too! I was always impressed by his stone lifting and wondered why he didn’t get the recognition he deserved. Plus, he was built like Mariusz, with a great physique.😎
I think one of the most impressive, hilarious, and alpha things ever done in strongman was when Big Z was doing the truck pull and half way through just gave up on using the rope and yeeted it then proceeded to run with the truck like Superman using absolutely no arm strength whatsoever lmao. Absolutely legendary. 😂😂 I’m not even sure what year wsm it was but I think Z was wearing a white shirt at the time. If anyone can find the video please share it it’s absolutely nuts. Edit: I found the clip. It’s around the 10 minute 20 second mark of a video called “Zydrunas Savickas (Big Z) - Tribute” The thumbnail is Z in a black shirt looking like he’s going to rip someone’s head off.
@bronchoped1 ....I’m not sure it may have been. I think it was between 2010 and 2012 but I could be wrong. Big Z did slip and kind of fall at the beginning of the pull and did the second half without the rope so he was literally just running with it lmao. If you search Big Z truck pull on RUclips though there’s no videos of it.
None of them were a patch on that time when my first love dumped me. Getting over that was a feat of strength! What do you mean emotional strength doesn’t count in the deadlift?
How about when Magnus Samuelsson beat the giant Nathan Jones easily in armwrestling and breaking his arm at WSM 1996 I think also how about when you broke the record in the car walk at Europes Strongest Man that was awesome too.

Picking just ten is hard, i´ll try 10 not included in this video and just one per atlethe. No particular order. 1. Derek Poundstone reping the giant dumbell 15 times at Arnold´s 2009 (or 08). 2. Hafthor´s 472 Deadlift at the Arnold´s 2018 after 3 events. 3. Big Z Reping the Apollon Whell 8 times at the Arnold´s 2006 and 07 4. Pfister´s car walk at WSM 2006 5. My favourite event performance was Big at the Arnold's from 2014 to 2016. He managed to get four reps of the Austrian Oak (441 lbs, 450 lbs and 451 lbs respectively) in three consecutive years, meanwhile most of the competitors couldn't get even one rep. In 2014: Lalas - 2 reps Oberst - 2 reps Shaw - 2 reps Burke - 1 rep Radzikowski - 1 rep. In 2015: none In 2016: Lalas - 1 rep.
In my opinion, the car hold has always been very impressing to watch. I have seen some car hold events from around 2000 WSM. One with Pudzianowski was crazy when he started screaming and also Pfister and Magnus Samuelsson were amazing to watch. Maybe it was WSM 2002 or around that time. Also the Arnolds 2017 had some very heavy events. The unbelievably heavy Super Yoke and frame carry must have been the heaviest events in strongman history. Shaw has won both of these events I think. But one of the craziest things I've ever seen was Mateusz Kieliszkowski in a Farmers event I think in England where he was so fast with very heavy farmers that they slided after he put them down and they nearly hit the camera man. That was insane.
For me the number one best strongman feat (not in comp) was Eddies deadlift training video, pretty sure it was for the 500kg lift. He started at 135lbs and did deads with guys loading the bar at the top. I think he went all the way to 960 then back down with no pauses. Amazing!!
The MOST impressive performance I’ve EVER seen by a wsm athlete was Big Z in the overhead medley in 2014 vs Thor. (Loz was in this competition). This to me is the most impressive as he is the best overhead presser ever and he beat Shaws and Burke’s what seemed to be unbeatable times with perfect form and easy. Just look it up and watch the way he throws up that axel. Incredible
Honorable mention to Phil Pfister in WSM 2006 throughout nearly all the events, especially the stone press. Everyone did 2 of them at most and he did all 4.
When you say "deadlift" Eddie's name just has to come to your mind. In my opinion he is the biggest deadlifter of all time. And, before some people start saying "Muh Hafthor", "Muh 501" and whatnot, if Makarov pulls 502 will he be the greatest deadlifter of all time? For me, no.It is not (only) about numbers. It is that, when everyone was fixed on the 460's, Eddie manhandled 500. But the most impressive thing of all and the mark of a true legend was his aura. Going against Eddie on the deadlift was like going against Tom Stoltman on the stones; you knew a priori how it was going to end. Huge deadlifters were fighting for second spot while he repeatedly set new standards for the sport. Finally, it was not only his strength and his numbers but also that he has studied this particular lift so much he is able to instantly recognise who has the potential to be an elite deadlifter. That said, obviously Eddie can be surpassed and probably will be surpassed. It is not about the numbers though. His crown will be taken by somebody who is able to dominate the event just as he did, be it in five, ten or fifty years and when that happens it will sure be very entertaining to watch.
Could you do the top 10 most accomplished strongmen? Like the number of titles/world records and stuff. Became a fan of the sport a few months back and have been really enjoying the content thus far.
Not that familiar with you mate. But I've subbed and that. This is the third video that I have seen. You should probably be on a bigger scale of production with your knowledge and delivery of the story that we are all enjoying to hear. Proper Gentle Giant.
Another good one is the first time the Arnold did the natural stone to shoulder (2018, I think?). Almost nobody could do a single rep and then Kieliszkowski steps up and starts repping it out. It looked like he was using a different stone.
Arild Haugens Atlast run was so good that people who never watched strongman knew about it in Norway. Still remember my older brother talking about it and as a kid, it was awesome to hear about. Moments like that makes strongman such a remarkable sport.
When Darren Sadler was shorter than the atlas stone podium so he strict pressed the stone overhead to get it on the platform Brian Shaw's entire performance at the 2017 Arnold and when Big Zs frame carry to win his 8th Arnold
2:40 The timing on this event is a bit suspect, where the last keg toss being lower gives you substantial time savings, which really isn't a measure of strength or hardly athleticism at all, finesse I suppose. Timing by when the last keg leaves the hands, much better way ihmo, Brian got his last keg off about 0.3s sooner. Just as it would happen, Thor's last keg had about 0.6s less air time.
Thats why the video is called "the best event performances" not strongest moments. Beating the WR brian set was an amazing performance seeing that the previous record was beaten by quite a lot and then thors comes and beats it again. It was a great moment in strongman. Everything had to be perfect for thor to beat the record because brians record was so good. No one has come close since and to be done back to back like that was amazing
@@eduardzandberg960 No doubt, I have no criticism of the video or the performance just the technical rules of the event. It all deserves more attention I feel. Wish more people would know that Brian actually had the better performance. You shouldn't be penalized for throwing your last keg higher, if anything the higher your manage to throw the last keg the more impressive your performance.
@@SpiderWaffle He wasnt penalized for throwing the keg higher. The clock stops when the last barrel touches the ground. Everyone competing on the day know the rules. Thats where you have to figure out the perfect angle between horizontal and vertical. There is no point in clearing the bar by a meter every time. Its not a maximum height contest.
@@eduardzandberg960 That's one way to look at it. I think Thor's incredibly low final keg is maybe the luckiest events in strongman history. Spinning 3.5 times and having the flat part of the key nearly perfectly on phase to clear the bar by a couple a millimeters. Two of the best kegs ever, Brian's was faster with the strength and power, Thor's final keg was lower.
Trey Mitchell in the infamous stone battle with Novikov. Derek Poundstones ability to use both arms on circus dumbell was always amazing. Not just for strength but coordination and stability
I'm glad you included Mauritius Pudzianowski. I think a lot of the kids today don't appreciate how dominant he was. And you're 100% right -- he had this after burner gear that just put him over the top in what seemed like every single event. How about Pudzianowski's 10 best events!!??
I think if there was a shorter time limit it would have been more impressive, pretty sure his brother and also Shaw completed it, and then rauno got 9/10 I think? If it was a time limit though you'd see only 1 or 2 coming anywhere close
Mateusz’s inclined farmers carry from this year’s Arnold was ridiculous

If this was 2021, we would be saying Tom’s 2020 stone run! That time is ridiculous
You should reach out to Arild Haugen! It would be intersting to hear you talking strongman with him.
The Bale Tote has to be there . 710 kg on your back is just unreal . And Brian decimated the competition in each of the 3 years
I was really glad to see Whitt Baskin's car hold. Like you Loz, I had goosebumps watching it. That was just amazing.
Magnus Samuelsson, WSM 1998, Stone Carry.
He just picks it up and walks.
That was his event, pick stuff upp against his chest and then take off.
Mateuz at the Arnold Santa Monica when he viper pressed the log to win that half the field struggled to clean was amazing
And Mikhails super epileptic Deadlift in the WUS feats of strength :D:D:D
Thor coming in second on half the events on this list just shows how amazing he was.
First that always comes to mind is Whit Baskin's car hold in 1999.
Anyone else get a tone of anxiety watching the keg toss I always think it’s gonna hit someone In the crowd
Phil phister stone overhead 2005
What about Mateusz with the stone to shoulder at the Arnold's a couple of years ago?
Great video! Would have love to seen Big Z’s squat for reps in 2014! I get so motivated every time I watch that one.
Trey Mitchell in the infamous stone battle with Novikov. Derek Poundstones ability to use both arms on circus dumbell was always amazing. Not just for strength but coordination and stability
Wicked video.👍💪
Tom McGee blew everyone away. Old comp squat around thousand pounds. He was banging his head an just crazy
One idea: have your face cam smaller and have the videos from the competion take up the whole screen so its easier to watch
He could get copyright striked or have the video taken down unfortunately
Damn never saw that last stone run, that was insane
Top 10 Most impressive Storngman fails
HINT....
BIG LOZ FLIP
Brian shaw was 450-460 pounds at his heaviest in 2010/2011 he was 350-370 pounds and looked more lean i think he should get down to 350-380 pounds
I'm glad you included Mauritius Pudzianowski. I think a lot of the kids today don't appreciate how dominant he was. And you're 100% right -- he had this after burner gear that just put him over the top in what seemed like every single event. How about Pudzianowski's 10 best events!!??
Bit of recency bias, but Tom stoltmans stone run at WUS, or the ones he’s just done in the worlds finals
I think if there was a shorter time limit it would have been more impressive, pretty sure his brother and also Shaw completed it, and then rauno got 9/10 I think? If it was a time limit though you'd see only 1 or 2 coming anywhere close
@@mprovin7320 What? Shaw was 2nd place in that event and Tom beat him by 20 seconds. Absolutely massive gap, extremely impressive.
@@AA-tq7dm oh yeah of course it's still insanely impressive I know, Shaw could have went faster if he wanted to though I think as well
@@mprovin7320 I don't think he could've come close to matching Tom's time personally but fair enough mate.
@@AA-tq7dm I agree with you
9:50 "people's hands were being torn up... PEOPLE WERE DYING" hahah
Tom stone run at wus 2019. Double the speed of Shaw and destroyed everyone else.
in 2004 wsm mariusz beating savisckas in overhead medley
Watching this list was a trip down memory lane. GREAT video Loz. 💪💪
Missing Luke Stoltmans Atlas Stone World Record performance. Great list!!!
U should do a series of these..cuz there's no way 10 are gonna be enough ❤️
Pudzianowski's Car Hold from WSM 2000 was awesome!
I remember everyone of those events
Shivlyakov's bloody nose deadlift at ASC 2018 is my favorite one
Quality content Loz. Always waiting for your videos really. Cheers from Argentina.
I think the Arnold 1600 pound yoke was the most impressive
Mark Felix didn't break his own record this year Loz
He did just not at wsm
@@BigLozOfficial True, true. I forgot Europe's even happened tbh lol
Savickas yoke 2014 AC,Thor Bjornsonn 2011 truck pull,Big Loz 2016 car carry
Taking a 580KG yoke for a comfortable, quick stroll is absolutely amazing. That really was an amazing performance.
That car hold from 1999 was truly something amazing
I'll take Brian's and Z's hummer tire deadlifts for 100 Loz, 1132 and 1156 lbs respectfully.
The most impressive event performance I’ve EVER seen was zydeunas overhead media performance in 2014 vs Thor
2017 WSM deadlift is my favourite deadlift performance as well. And for the exact same reasons as well.
Most impressive was also Shivliakov injured at the Arnolds doing the Wheel of Pain
Mateusz stone to shoulder at the arnolds , that´s one of my favorites :) But there is soo many great performances in strongman history for sure !
This was a really good video. Absolutely loved it. Thanks Loz.
