Annihilation might have been a giant turd, but the trailer is a work of art! MK fans, admit it. If you knew nothing about Annihilation, this would have gotten you hyped. I love how the introduction is slow and vague. You don't know it's a Mortal Kombat movie until you hear the iconic cry, and then you get to see these iconic characters in action set to this awesome dance track. Dude, it was boss.
I remember watching it as a kid like until it says Mortal Kombat you don’t even know what it is. It just seems like an adventure movie and then it totally flips to the techno and you lose your shit for the next 90 seconds.

I have a feeling actors like christophe lambert and Bridgette Wilson (who played Rayden and Sonya respectively in the first film) didn't feel regret about appearing in this film despite it was poorly received by fans and critics.

I know it was part of the the video game, but when Liu Kang did his "Animality" in the movie and turned into a dragon, I was like, "WTF?"
The trailer to the movie makes it look cool, I don't care what anyone said about the second mortal kombat movie I loved both of them since my childhood when I was 7, or 8 years old watching this movie though I'll never understand why they changed Sonya Blade, and why Johnny Cage got killed in it.
I agree man I grew up on this one and the first one but this trailer really does make me want to watch the movie. They killed off johnny cage cause in the video game MK3 he was killed in the story which is why he wasn't a playable character. They should've definitely just changed it for the movie since he was one of the better characters in the first one.

Bro yes!!! As someone who doesn’t care about “critic reviews” or anything like that. This movie is my childhood; especially as someone who played every mortal kombat to date. I genuinely enjoyed this movie then and now. No matter how cheesy people say it is. I just love it for the nostalgia.

I was twelve when this came out, i think this is the first trailer to ever mislead me cause back then u knew a movie was bad based on the trailer, so i guess this one laid the foundation of the epic trailer shit movie genre we see nowadays
You took the words right out of my mouth ... the only thing epic about this movie, was the disappointment. In fact, this is the movie I refer to the most when I'm talking about a preview being FAR better than the movie, itself.

they're are trying to make the MK reboot realistic like the Dark Knight series.
Now that I've seen the movie I love, and should have realized sooner, that Shiva gets no action since all she does is pose and jump when her name is called.
I remember seeing the first one in theaters when I was 10 then saw this one when it came out also, love both of them and pretty much know them by Heart and yes ik they were bad movie but I don't care!

LOL with a movie like that u atleast know what your gettin yourself into when u watch it, i can't understand how they went all out the first one and it was phenominal and it seemed like they didn't even try for the sequel, i mean if i want to see shit i'll take a dump and gaze into the toilet bowl.
We saw this trailer and flipped. You gotta understand, after the spectacularly amazing first film, one would assume they'd just do that again, but bigger, maybe better. Went see it and was massively disappointed from the beginning. It was a horror show. It was a huge letdown.

I come from the future, 2022. In 2021, after the virus that almost killed humanity, there will be a new Mortal Kombat movie. And the fatalitis will be amazing... Forget what I said about the virus😅
if this was made today, they would've devided it into 2 movies because of all the characters there wasnt much room to feature them right. I agree on how many they had but they killed fan favorite Rain like 30 min. into the film, sheeva forget about her. Yeah that was part of the problem (bad acting mainly) but that would've helped

yeah i get your point regarding subzero as far as i know there are two SubZeros in Mortal Combat story (that was mentioned on Mortal Kombat Conquest ) but its still the Same Scorpion on this Movie...
Despite the hate, I think this isn't that bad. Sure it's not as good as the original, but I still think it's ok at best and enjoy it still.

I honestly don't think this is a bad movie in the slightest. Really love this flick. Got a lot of time for it. This is nowhere near the fucking level of inbred that shit like Sharknado or ANY fucking MCU film is. Annihilation kicks all arse. I like it over the first movie.
This is after MK3 because Stryker is already dead I believe in this one. .. well not after MK3 but this is the MK3 of MK movies

you know this movie was fucking awful but it had badass fight sequences and music. Have to give it that, two of the reasons I still watch it once in a while

I disagree with a lot of the comments on this video. I think this film is very, very bad. In a nutshell, it's right next to Caddyshack II, because it's obvious the stunts were fake, but too many jumps and flips do not make good action, the writing is horrible, the story makes no sense, and it looks way too cheap, even for standards of an actual movie. This would have worked so much better as a pilot for a tv show, not a theatrical film. The main reason I hate this film is because I believe the producers fired Paul W.S. Anderson, along with most of the crew who worked on the first movie, and instead, hired the people behind the live-action Jean-Claude Van Damme Street Fighter movie, but that's just me.

Underrated movie. Yes, the storyline wasn't so good but fight scenes were brilliant and acting was good too. Only a few No - they killed J.Cage and Mileena wasn't introduced very well
