Hi , I am suppose to rank my work shifts , what I would like to fill out 20 shifts of my choice and then auto rank the rest without affecting my personal preference, pls guide me in how that can be done

Can you please determine the rank with repeated values in the same group ranking?
Fantastic tutorial…thank you…however I have a query, example two guys end up having same ranking? It may happen…in that situation I want excel to evaluate other parameter associated with candidate/employee… example two employees having same rank…but employee A is relatively new in organisation but employee B is quiet old and experienced…I want to give advantage to new employee…we can have another column capturing tenure in days for each employee…hope I am able to convey my query…please help.

Nice, like it but i was looking to rank on multiple columns at the same time. So we rank by column 1 first but then we rank in column1 by the values in column 2 if the values in column 1 are equal. And extend this to 3 columns?
Hi there. Can you walk me through the example you have at hand? For column 1, what's the condition you looking at, what's in column 2, and what's in column 3?
The example i was thinking of was the English Championship. Places are decided by the team that has the highest number of points. But in the event of a tie is then decided on the goal difference. The team with the biggest goal difference wins if tied on points scored. A third column could be decided on 'fair play' points awarded. I don't believe fair play points are used but they could be.
Or how about this: Alarm medical sell medical equipment to hospitals. Sales staff are ranked on their sales as follow: whoever sells the most number of mri scanners is the winner and gets promoted. In the event of a tie then whoever sells the most number of bone density scanners is the winner and gets promoted however if this is tied then they are ranked on the number of x-ray machines sold. Mri scanners have the biggest profit, bone density scanners have the next highest profit margin and x-ray machines have the lowest profit margin.
Is there a way to rank a 2 phase result? So let's say in Phase 1 you did not qualify to move to Phase 2, you will rank lower. So if Phase 2 Qualifiers ranked 1-9, then those who were "stuck" at Phase 1, will then rank 10-12. In a scenario where there are 12 participants
Interesting scenario, let me test it out and get back to you. Are there fixed positions in phase 2 (1 till 9) or depends on qualification criteria of phase 2?

If the sales is 0 for 3-4 city it will show repeated rank , how make it unique ranking using this formula
Hi Mohit. To understand your question better, are the cities same where sales are zero?
What i understand is , there are different cities containing sales value "0" for two three entries , is it ?
No point of ranking them then

madam! I m ur big fn, Plz help me, about RANK
If i have two or more ranges, mark, grade to rank,
For example,
Masud: grade-5, mark-80
Rana: grade-5, mark-88
Robi: grade-5, mark-70
Lina: grade-4.90, mark- 90
I want, it 1st rank by grade, if there same grade got more then 1 student, that case it will rank by mark...

Hi thank you for the support. I was testing out your example. Kindly let me know, in your example, you want total ranks unique for each individual. For instance, say I change grade of Robi to 4.5, then based on rank on grade - 1 will be Lina, rank 2 will be Robi; and with same grades, rank will be done on marks - so Rana is getting 1 and Masud rank 2. Is this the result you want (I have worked out this solution)? Or you want (like the example I gave here) that after ranks are gives to those with unique grades, then rank on marks should start with 3 then 4,etc?

we should pray to God that we must never come across with same values otherwise we have to pay for it ....i do not like these formulas at all ...the second formula gives different ranks to the same values which is totally wrong ...result ...the best i think the result that i want is that it should not give different ranks to the same values rather it should give the same ranks and the next number should not missing at all ...for example if first two values are same and the third one is different it should give same rank that is one to the same values and the third rank should not be three it should be two ...that is what i need
