      I think age has a lot to do with it. I think kids who get into around 19-21 accel faster than any other demographic. They're physically built enough to be formidable, and their brains are malleable enough to still learn quickly.

    • @aqdjbcr
      @aqdjbcr 2 года назад +18

      Like the above commenter said, young athletic dudes learn pretty quick, especially if they’re putting in crazy hours and watching videos in their spare time. Also he had some experience from rolling in a jiu Jitsu club so he wasn’t starting with 0 Jitsu experience.

    • @kokojambo269
      @kokojambo269 2 года назад +18

      @@Cornbreadddd For sure it has to do with it.. but still, I'm sure that their learning method is very systematic in order to get to this level so quickly.
      I can testify as a 24 year old in a great shape, that the bjj gyms I've been to did not provide any systematic method or enough guidance for beginners to in order to advance quickly or even be good in 1 aspect of the game (pin escapes, maintaining guard etc..). One class we learn arm bar and the next we learn way more advanced moves that no chance I can use while rolling.
      So given that the gyms around me are not as good as 10th planet (and not even close), I'm tying to figure out how could I get better quickly and effectively on my own.

      Not necessarily. Focusing on one strategy to win a white belt tournament, including cutting weight is cool….but not every gym really cares about winning white belt tournaments.
      It’s like winning the battle but not the war.
      You can be taught a strong all round game without the nonsense of cutting weight etc and not win tournaments early on in your training but become a really strong competitor later on.

    It was super smart to focus a game plan and is way better. I hated in the beginning when so many classes felt almost entirely detached from the last class, and the one before that, and this place only had class twice a week. Way easier to understand when things are focused and tailored to what you seem to be understanding. I also think though that this would have been much harder in a gi tournament. So if you've been doing bjj for 30 days in gi and still get caught in a bow and arrow and don't know what happened, its ok.

    Nice work. One on one training with a great couch who knows how to put his thoughts to words really well. Making it easier to understand helps an unbelievable amount. I brang a yellow belt to a red belt level in only a month. And only seeing eachouther in class. I made myself a great training partner. Hard to find a partner that doesn't give up when losing over and over again.
