I honestly hope he comes back. I do understand Tony might not want to cause of how Kieran left cinemassacre but I did enjoy his opinions. I know Kieran also said he just wants to live a normal life and not online so it could be his choice to not come on
Kieren had a melt down about his relationship with his ex and posted something he shouldn’t have and immediately deleted it but it was too late. Also he was live and had another melt down when someone commented something about his dad who had just passed at the time. He’s also a huge alcoholic. Regardless I still miss him and wish he’d make a return.
First time seeing this cohost. I'm a fan: she's crazily knowledgeable about her craft(no pun intended) and I can watch or listen to people amazing at whatever ALL the times. #cavatating
So I drive a street sweeper and run a leaf blower for hours. While it scratches the same itch as powerwashing, I'm pretty sure watching it would be boring as hell lmao.
@@Samsquamsh if you're exceptional at those things, I'm sure I could watch for a while. Anything done well enough is raised to a form of art. You should watch me run a dry mop around. It's not among my job responsibilities, but I still manage to from time to time.
😂😂😂 I can already tell this is going to be a fun one. thanks tony and captain B. Ill be here for the premiere, but just wanted to show my support early.
How have you not covered The Net yet?!! Come on Tony! You've got the tape right there. Let's do that one next. I loved that movie back in the 90's. I think I watched it right after I got my first computer so it was perfect timing.
You might say it Willem Dafies expectations. It's the Willem Dafinition of a decent sequel. No one's Willem Dafoning it in. If you think it's bad, I don't know what you're Willem Dafucking talking about. Anyways, I'm gonna head out to the Vietnamese joint for some Willem Dafở.
Captain Boomie was an awesome-great co-host. All the guests are swanky and fun to be honest. Tony knows how to do a good back and forth with anyone really! Great review!
Point of pride in my life, I have to work around a lot of underage girls who have daddy issues and try to crush on me and instantly - "can I get another adult around me, I do not feel comfortable with what she is saying, is there a women who can talk to this young girl and tell her how inappropriate this is."
I think youth is a temporary loss of logic. We all go through it and as such I try not to judge but I agree that it is not comfortable and violates boundaries.
compared to modern movies, speed 2 is a damn masterpiece. that practical boat crash effect is something else.....i miss old movies where green screen abuse wasnt that common
I'd say the biggest cultural impact of Speed 2 is the theme song being used as the entrance music of MMA legend Kazushi Sakuraba. The Gracie Hunter! Sweet review. Captain Boomies is great!
I still enjoy Speed 2. Its an odd sequel but has good stunt action out on the ocean water. One thing though about the movie is the little awkward "creepy" thing going on with the young little deaf girl where she has a crush on Jason Patric's character
@@TheColbybrauer shes alone in a cabin watching Lolita with the Jason Patric character? You sure? that little deaf girl was infatuated with him out in the ballroom scene in the beginning of the movie i recall
Well back then in 1997 people weren’t thinking the worst about everything like nowadays, but back then it was cute that she had a little puppy dog crush on him, but nowadays on social media we got far too many people who for whatever reason can’t go 5 minutes without bringing up pedophilia🤷🏻♂️
There is a Speed 3 but its an episode of a sitcom called Father Ted where they parody Speed with a milk van going 4 miles an hour with a bomb on it. Might be worth doing a bonus episode about it Tony.
I often try to see any redeeming qualities in bad movies and I will watch bad movies to see how bad they are or to laugh at. This didn't even satisfy my expectations for the latter. This was a slog to sit through. However, Willem Dafoe was one of the redeeming qualities in this film. He was entertaining to watch. I also liked the effects used for the boat towards the end. But overall, this movie was bad. I don't think I will do any Speed double features. The first one is still a classic, though.
Oh, it’s okay, Tony. I think we’ve all cheated on a test at one time or another. Half of my math class and I cheated on our Junior final. I guess I can admit that now since it’s been 20 years now.
Speed 2 cruise control was underrated and I used to watch it on HBO back to back anytime it was on HBO I was watching it lol. Jason Patrick and Sandra were good together. I feel ya Tony. Definitely hidden gem and super guilty pleasure of mine.
The only thing I remember watching this movie when I was a kid was because I was a fan of watching things getting blown up and the ship breaking in half the city was so cool for me back then. Now it gives me cringe xD.
Want to say I enjoy this titling much better. I prefer not to know if you liked or hated a movie by the video’s title. I’m less likely to watch it if I know I disagree with you plus its more fun and “suspenseful” to hear your opinions ufold.
I wonder if the script changes Jason Patric wanted were either to make Alex more distinctly different from Jack-which he wasn't-or to just have Alex BE Jack so that Annie wouldn't be paired up with another guy who just HAPPENED to not only be on the LAPD SWAT team, but the EXACT SAME one that her ex, who's now conspicuously absent from said team, came from too.
obviously there is a chainsaw on the boat for the ice sculptures they must have for events on deck, and they obviously need a back up just in case, an obvious explanation for the chainsaws on the cruise ship
Boomies was fun as a co-host. And now I wanna see Tony do a side video of all the bad stuff and crimes Jason Patrics' character committed and why he should be in jail... aside from being a clear cut Cuties fan.
We have Halon in datacenter and they can’t go on if there is presence in room and you can’t open door from outside as long as there is halon in the room. This stuff kill’s you in seconds
Plausibility, same woman gets into situation with tyrannical villain who has exact same hate for his former employer. and also she crosses paths with characters from the first speed which only the plot will allow. The first Speed would not have allowed for this. The first Speed would not have accepted this. At the expense of the work done on the original, this film just degrades cool. That's not even the definition of speed 2. Money train is a better speed 2.
Wow, this movie has a 3.9 on IMDb and a 4% on RottenTomatoes. (Though Siskely & Ebert actually gave it two thumbs up.) I knew it was poorly received, but I didn't know it was THAT poorly received. Never seen it myself, because the premise seemed too much like a coincidental rehash of the first. Also never been big on movies that exclusively take place on boats.
I actually remember the Dogstar story because i recall making fun of him choosing to play music instead of doing Speed 2,m all because of a terrible pic they used of Keanu on guitar.
Both of the big boat movies, Speed 2 and Titanic, were distributed by 20th Century Fox (#RIP) too. EDIT - Well, Paramount also helped out with Titanic, but the point still stands.
I have a question. Why can Tony not review movies he's reviewed on other channels he is not really connected with, but if he did it on Rental Reviews, it's fair game?
It's not always fair game. There's some Rental Reviews episodes where I felt like I said everything I needed to about a movie. I think I've only revisited a few and they were ones where I didn't get to say as much as I wanted due to that shows format. I feel the same way with reviews I've done on other channels. I like the stuff I've done on Movie Dumpster, Dragon Cruve, and most recently, the Speed review I did on Cinematrips. Why repeat myself here when I was happy with those episodes?
@HackTheMovies I suppose that's a good enough reason. However, some of us just enjoy hearing your silky smooth voice even when repetitive. I mean, I just get so excited every time you mention your time staring in The Dark Knight Rises

She tricked Tony into inflating.
Captain Boomies is what I imagine a more focused Mintsalad would be like.
I kinda want to see them on the same podcast episode in the near future.
Captain Boomies needs to be on EVERY movie that has a boat in it from here on out!
I think the ghost ship review would've been so much better if it had Johanna and Captain Boomies!

Sadly, my friends and I saw this over CON-AIR on opening weekend. I still think it's a funny action comedy. Willem Defoe was the best character.
The way I read this I thought your friends were on a Con-air flight and this was the inflight movie.
Captain Boomie is a great guest. I was worried those two would go through the video incorrectly calling the leeches eels.
