    I feel that the constant tragedy with Russian equipment is the engineers design an excellent platform, then the people constructing it cut corners, the logistics personal sell equipment and parts, and the general pockets empty billets salaries while simultaneously reporting combat capable units that are under strength even without the empty billet slots.

      @faithosadebe5293
      My perfect example is when the Germans discovered the T34.
      Everyone thought the Nazi tanks were the epitome of technological prowess .
      Gasoline engines , light , 75 mm main gun. They conquered all of Western Europe!
      In combat with the Soviets the narrow tracks, low velocity gun became a liability. In the cold the petrol engine wouldn't start. And the petrol engine exploded when hit .
      The T34 had broad tracks , angled armour , high velocity gun, and a compressor that started the engine in extremely cold weather. They west is unable to understand THAT is ALSO a definition of quality.
      Both sides had their own definition of " quality ".
      It was only DURING combat that the Nazis were shocked to find their guns could not penetrate the T34 armour , their tanks got stuck where the T34 didn't and their tanks could only be started by lighting a bonfire underneath the engine. Quality tank indeed.
      Guderian ordered the T34 copied.. diesel engine and all.
      What most Western analysts dont know is that Soviet weapons are products based on their Deep Battle doctrine. The weapons are designed to work as a team at the operational level so the Soviets made the compromises necessary so the weapons can work as a team in large formations. Reliability was a key factor.
      Western analysts think one on one characteristics define if a weapon is good . False !
      The Nazis continued to rely on one-on-one weapons to give them an edge, this failed because they were unreliable and tbe Soviets just upgraded their proven weapons. The T34 became the T34 85 more than enough to do the job it was designed . Breakthrough !

      @@johnweerasinghe4139 thank you this insight.. I truly appreciate.. Many always looked down upon Russia because of it economy, forgetting they suffered more and loss more lives during the both wars.. Paid the biggest sacrifice.. If Russia has same budget like the USA for defense.. I do not think any will dare Russia.. Russia investment more on air defense and also weapons that can destroy an entire strike group.. I read documents about the typhoon class submarines, I was damn surprised.. Same us Virginia class not upto the typhoon cost $4bn per unit.. Why the Yasen cost close to 800m.. I pity Ukraine, if Russia really declared war on Ukraine, Ukraine will be long gone.. Every western weapons has been proven useless.. At first them might make a difference, boom Russia has figure out how to counter it, like the ATACMS for example....
      I really appreciate your insight, if I were to be a leader, I will definitely be buying Russia. Made weapons, more affordable, high quality and less maintenance.. I saw the F35 maintenance cost just a unit is $335m, isn't that outrageous... The new Russia lider class destroyer, will cost 100bn rubles, displacing 19k tons, with over 182vls, the so called Zumwalt class cost 3.2bn a unit with just 80vls displacement of 16k tons.. Not even upto South Korea(128vls) 9.3k tons china(112vls) 11.3k tons.. Also it tanks are damn so cheap like the T72 yet damn powerful..

      @definitelyfrank9341 Jesus Frank, it's open source and ALL subs use air ballast to fire anything...even a torpedo. The deeper you are, the greater the water pressure and the more air needed to 1. open the hatch, 2. Push out the Projectile whether missile or torpedo. Torpedo propulsion inside the tubes, as it's not safe. Same for missiles - You want a huge high burn missile lit off inside your tincan? Google it dopey.

      One or two torpedos won't necessarily gaurantee a hit. Yasen would also likely be engaging a task force of several ships rather than just one ship, so you'd definitely need all ten torpedo tubes. Not to mention that torpedos take several minutes if not more (don't quote me on that) to reload, and reloading likely makes noise audible to surface vessels or other SSNs, so you wouldn't want to be doing that in the heat of combat.

      Because cost of manufacturing, labor laws and labor wages , abundance of titanium.
      For example let’s say a cost of manufacturing a nut bolt for submarine in usa 20 dollars excluding cost of importing titanium.
      The same thing in Russia will cost less than 3 dollars because no labor laws or wages , cost of manufacturing and most important thing the titanium required to manufacture military grade equipments are only found in abundance in Russia because Russia controls earths 35% resources that’s why there is a staggering cost of difference.

    • @Elthenar
      @Elthenar Год назад +1

      Because they don't. For one thing, Russia flat out lies about costs and capabilities of their gear. Russia can not build a sub that is equivalent to the US model for a fraction of the cost. If anything, economy of scale would likely offset cheaper Russian labor and allow us to build at better prices.

    • @kotori87gaming89
      @kotori87gaming89 Год назад +1

      American submarines are the only major US military project currently delivering fully functional hardware that is under budget and ahead of schedule, primarily due to experience and economy of scale. Your price tag per boat is also grossly overblown.
      Russia gets fewer boats than ordered, over their stated budget, after their planned delivery date, and often with dangerous "shortcuts" taken during construction that compromise their performance. And then they lie about everything to pretend they're on the same level.

      The Akula is the last soviet-era fast attack submarine SSN. It preceded the Yasen class. It is also plagued by maintenance problems. The Typhoon is a completely different class of ballistic missile submarine SSBN from the soviet era that has been replaced by the more modern Borei class SSBN. Little correction. The first of the class was built off an old partially completed hull from the early 90s. Hence the cheap 50 billion rubles. The next in the class skyrocketed to 110 billion rubles. Which works out to 3.5 billion USD based on the average price when they were being built in 2012. Though they always list the lower price of the first to trick westerners into thinking they make cheaper shit.
