Imagine getting shot down by a ship that wasn't even supposed to fight planes.
I feel that the constant tragedy with Russian equipment is the engineers design an excellent platform, then the people constructing it cut corners, the logistics personal sell equipment and parts, and the general pockets empty billets salaries while simultaneously reporting combat capable units that are under strength even without the empty billet slots.
Not really the case with Modern Russian designs anymore.
Back during the soviet days? Yeah.
The Ukrainian engineers that designed half of the USSR’s equipment did wonderful jobs.
The crackheads inside the Kremlin’s “totally-not-nazi-Wunderwaffe” division are just scribbling random shit on paper
It's either that or the government forces them to rush it in order for them to have a new propaganda machine.
Whilst in the West the ensure the public is ripped off at every stage.
The tragedy with Russian equipment concept is that Russia acknowledges facts and other countries hides them from their citizens.

When I was in the Navy, on Subs, our training had a big part in tracking one of these. Very cool submarines.
Who would believe that the training has a part just to track Russia submarines.. Wow.. 😅😅
All torpedoes should be referred to as "Underwater Boom Booms" from now on. 😂
I've got a torpedo for Underwater Boom Boom.
Why are the first 10 comments I see “underwater boom boom”?

"Underwater boom boom"
The actual test depth of all military subs (Russian & USA) is far deeper than the published test depth. I know for a fact that Virginia class subs go below 1,000 ft (330+ meters) on a regular basis.
You'd absolutely wreck the hull doing that, possibly increasing noise levels.

Thank you! The Neocons rule our fates because nobody knows history...
@faithosadebe5293
My perfect example is when the Germans discovered the T34.
Everyone thought the Nazi tanks were the epitome of technological prowess .
Gasoline engines , light , 75 mm main gun. They conquered all of Western Europe!
In combat with the Soviets the narrow tracks, low velocity gun became a liability. In the cold the petrol engine wouldn't start. And the petrol engine exploded when hit .
The T34 had broad tracks , angled armour , high velocity gun, and a compressor that started the engine in extremely cold weather. They west is unable to understand THAT is ALSO a definition of quality.
Both sides had their own definition of " quality ".
It was only DURING combat that the Nazis were shocked to find their guns could not penetrate the T34 armour , their tanks got stuck where the T34 didn't and their tanks could only be started by lighting a bonfire underneath the engine. Quality tank indeed.
Guderian ordered the T34 copied.. diesel engine and all.
What most Western analysts dont know is that Soviet weapons are products based on their Deep Battle doctrine. The weapons are designed to work as a team at the operational level so the Soviets made the compromises necessary so the weapons can work as a team in large formations. Reliability was a key factor.
Western analysts think one on one characteristics define if a weapon is good . False !
The Nazis continued to rely on one-on-one weapons to give them an edge, this failed because they were unreliable and tbe Soviets just upgraded their proven weapons. The T34 became the T34 85 more than enough to do the job it was designed . Breakthrough !
@@johnweerasinghe4139 thank you this insight.. I truly appreciate.. Many always looked down upon Russia because of it economy, forgetting they suffered more and loss more lives during the both wars.. Paid the biggest sacrifice.. If Russia has same budget like the USA for defense.. I do not think any will dare Russia.. Russia investment more on air defense and also weapons that can destroy an entire strike group.. I read documents about the typhoon class submarines, I was damn surprised.. Same us Virginia class not upto the typhoon cost $4bn per unit.. Why the Yasen cost close to 800m.. I pity Ukraine, if Russia really declared war on Ukraine, Ukraine will be long gone.. Every western weapons has been proven useless.. At first them might make a difference, boom Russia has figure out how to counter it, like the ATACMS for example....
I really appreciate your insight, if I were to be a leader, I will definitely be buying Russia. Made weapons, more affordable, high quality and less maintenance.. I saw the F35 maintenance cost just a unit is $335m, isn't that outrageous... The new Russia lider class destroyer, will cost 100bn rubles, displacing 19k tons, with over 182vls, the so called Zumwalt class cost 3.2bn a unit with just 80vls displacement of 16k tons.. Not even upto South Korea(128vls) 9.3k tons china(112vls) 11.3k tons.. Also it tanks are damn so cheap like the T72 yet damn powerful..
Hope they will maintain this submarine perfectly because you know they have huge corruption & economic problems, that's why their equipments not get proper maintenance due to which accident occurs like Kursk.
The boom boom part 😂
I thought their best subs were from the Black Sea Fleet.
Northern fleet is the only one with unrestricted access to world's oceans.
I think Russia's newest submarine is the borei class

What’s funny is it doesn’t matter if hey can go deeper than US subs, they can’t go deeper than US torpedoes.
You sound lame.. So lame Mr.. 😅😅😅.. Pray you don't experience the wrath of Kalibr missiles..
730 million dollar get you this advance sub, while American sub cost 2 billion dollar at the cheapest price.
Yes but it's not really representative.
Both countries are fairly different, cost of labor is much much lower in Russia aswell as some of the material used. Titanium is a great example of this, being much more available and cheaper in Russia.
As always, Russian tech looks great on paper, best of the best, in fact. In reality ... well, who cares about that.

Ofcourse.
Ooof
I would have thought that a whole nuclear sub only costs about 3 787s
Why can Russia build nuclear-powered submarines but they cannot build nuclear powered carriers
Because it shit.. Currently they are building one.. They have the missile to destroy the entire carrier strike team.. Rs sarmat (nato: Satan)... Imagine if nato could call it that, speed of Mach 27... Like the S550 anti ballistic missile.. So be sensible..

Russia: Liberation from your toilets and other valuables!
I like the videos, please keep up the good work?
Talk is cheap. Only matters when it's maintained and it works. Doesn't bode well for an outfit that can't remember to change tires on surface vehicles. 🤔
But the Russian Subs cannot fire from that depth. They would use too much air
Source?
Prray you don't get it.. Haven't you seen there firing practice
@definitelyfrank9341 Jesus Frank, it's open source and ALL subs use air ballast to fire anything...even a torpedo. The deeper you are, the greater the water pressure and the more air needed to 1. open the hatch, 2. Push out the Projectile whether missile or torpedo. Torpedo propulsion inside the tubes, as it's not safe. Same for missiles - You want a huge high burn missile lit off inside your tincan? Google it dopey.
I'm amazed it moves by it's own power unlike the majority of Russia's navy
Yasen class
Beautiful boats
for this Russian submarine, the working depth is 520 meters, the limit is 600.
Why is it that it can go faster submerged? Wouldn't there be less resistance or drag on the surface?
Can anyone out there explain this to me in such a way my small brain can comprehend it?
Virginia class goes to 240 meters is BS
It goes far deeper than that
for this Russian submarine, the working depth is 520 meters, the limit is 600. and your Virginia has a working depth of 244 meters and the limit is 500

Mantap Russia negara paling kuat di dunia... Urrrrrrrrrrrraaaa kemenangan untuk pederasi Russia
Of course, it can't be as quite as a US sub!!!
And who are you to say this?
Didn't you hear about that incident off the Kola Peninsula in which a Russian sub successfully hit a US sub from beneath. But that's not the main thing. The thing here is that it was beneath her, and the US submarine had no idea of it.
I was being sarcastic.
10 torpedo tubes...
That feels excessive lol
One or two torpedos won't necessarily gaurantee a hit. Yasen would also likely be engaging a task force of several ships rather than just one ship, so you'd definitely need all ten torpedo tubes. Not to mention that torpedos take several minutes if not more (don't quote me on that) to reload, and reloading likely makes noise audible to surface vessels or other SSNs, so you wouldn't want to be doing that in the heat of combat.
Yes only 250, definitely
Fuck is there an echo in this room?
Germany’s type XXI U-boat had an operational depth of 300 meters and that was nearly 80 years ago
There's not much advantage to dive deeper than that. ASW weapons will always be able to dive deeper than submarines, and the benefit from better acoustics isn't much (in fact sometimes it could have the opposite effect).
So no, German WW2 technology was not so impeccable that the world couldn't get better than that.
@@timothy740 I didn’t say German World War II technically was impeccable but now that you mentioned it the victors world warII technology wasn’t impeccable either! Was it
German World War II technology was ahead in many field.
@@reginaldmcnab3265 My bad, I kinda jumped to conclusions. German technology during WW2 was ahead in some areas but inferior in others.
@@timothy740 OK which one was inferia
Generally the bigger the boat, the harder it us to maintain integrity. Uboats were pretty small and cramped. Being flattened also reduced the weight of the water from above, although not from the sides
new american subs can go 2000 feet and 3000 feet at crush depth
but what is that in scientific units?
Maybe not so advanced as we might think.
It was in Mexican Gulf and near the coast of Italy and Great Britain.... What else you need to know?
Yasin is actually a Akula class attack sub built in late 80s. They only 2 active currently finished in 2020 and 2021. They have 6 under construction but on hold due to international pressure due to Russia mistake of invading a neighbor. The Virginia class the US has 21 with 15 cruise missles and the block V will have 65. Plenty of under water boom boom sorry vald but we win!
Nice misinformation mate.
@@M16_Akula-III the DoD disagrees with you thanks
@@robertrider1251 The Yasen doesn't even existed in the 80's. The Akula was introduced between '84 and '85. So, no, the Yasen doesn't exist in that timeline. And, no, it's not an Akula.
@@M16_Akula-III the is the same hull same equipment ine difference they put in vls something American subs have been doing. Russia just rehashed the sane old tech they've had or steal it from the west but don't have modern industrial know ledge. The Yasin still floats out of date tech period. The Russian greatest accomplishment in all their naval abilities was the Typhoon hell of a boat the Alpha was great too, but now you Russian float 4 boats and think you made a leap comon their Georgy the hull was first started in mid 90s and did finish until 2002 you now have 4 with 2 more building. The US has over 20 if the Virginia class started in 2000 with each block bring new tech and capabilities. You guys still have figured of the Seawolf class and they have no problem hearing you guys coming.
@@robertrider1251 First thing, it doesn't use the same sonar set. The Akula used the MGK-540 Skat-3 while the Yasen uses the MGK-600 Amfora. 2nd thing, the torpedo tubes on the Yasen are on the portside and starboard, unlike the Akula where it's on the Bow. Third thing, All of the torpedo tubes on the Yasen are 533mm, while on the Akula 4 of those torpedo tubes are 650mm. 4th thing, the first Yasen had 10 torpedo tubes opposed to Akula's 8.

the working depth is 520 meters, the limit is 600.
So we need to breach their hulls?
if the CCP's people copies it you got a winner ,of course Thiers will be improved , and Uncle's stuff works he just doesn't brag about it
Hope they don’t get too close to Ukrainians.
Russia has been known to exaggerate their weapon platform capabilities whether it comes to subs or missles. I guarantee it does not go 450 meters deep and if it actually did don't you think that would be classified?
The US needs to ask Russia how they build subs cheaper than the 10 billion the US tax player pays for a US sub.
Nobody can do more with less than the Russians.
Because cost of manufacturing, labor laws and labor wages , abundance of titanium.
For example let’s say a cost of manufacturing a nut bolt for submarine in usa 20 dollars excluding cost of importing titanium.
The same thing in Russia will cost less than 3 dollars because no labor laws or wages , cost of manufacturing and most important thing the titanium required to manufacture military grade equipments are only found in abundance in Russia because Russia controls earths 35% resources that’s why there is a staggering cost of difference.
Because they don't. For one thing, Russia flat out lies about costs and capabilities of their gear. Russia can not build a sub that is equivalent to the US model for a fraction of the cost. If anything, economy of scale would likely offset cheaper Russian labor and allow us to build at better prices.
American submarines are the only major US military project currently delivering fully functional hardware that is under budget and ahead of schedule, primarily due to experience and economy of scale. Your price tag per boat is also grossly overblown.
Russia gets fewer boats than ordered, over their stated budget, after their planned delivery date, and often with dangerous "shortcuts" taken during construction that compromise their performance. And then they lie about everything to pretend they're on the same level.

Wrong.
The most advanced Russian Sub is the Akula Class aka Typhoon that weighs 48,000 tonnes when submerged.
Uh...there's only one typhoon left, and I'm pretty sure that has been or about to be retired.
The Akula is the last soviet-era fast attack submarine SSN. It preceded the Yasen class. It is also plagued by maintenance problems. The Typhoon is a completely different class of ballistic missile submarine SSBN from the soviet era that has been replaced by the more modern Borei class SSBN. Little correction. The first of the class was built off an old partially completed hull from the early 90s. Hence the cheap 50 billion rubles. The next in the class skyrocketed to 110 billion rubles. Which works out to 3.5 billion USD based on the average price when they were being built in 2012.
