You're so pretty! You remind me of snow white, with your pale complexion and beautiful dark hair. I also have these oil pastels (36 piece) and they're amazing, I just love them!
The Mungyo Gallery Pastels and Hobby Lobby Masters Touch Premium Soft Oil Pastels are exactly the same. I have both and it was only by accident that I discovered that Mungyo is manufacturer of both. Except for the picture on the boxes, everything...down to the color names are the same. With Hobby Lobby 50% sale they are the same price without a sale at Hobby Lobby 48 piece set is $39.99
Hi I really like your videos.please make video on water soluble oil pastels . need your suggestions on two brands mungyo water soluble oil pastels and micador water soluble oil pastels .
I bought the Mungyo about 6 months ago because of this video. LOVE THEM. I went down an oil pastel rabbit hole and have been making pastel pieces ever since.
OMG these are soooo gooooooooooooooooooooood!!!! I saw in your videos how highly you talk of these pastels, so I finally decided to get myself a set. It arrived yesterday and I tested it right away, and omg, I love these pastels so much! I had to pay 35Euros for a set of 48, and they are worth every cent.
I was slightly dubious as to whether the artwork on the cover of the box could be done when i bought these, and so had a go at recreating the cover pic..and yes, you can. I agree and think these are the best imo..even over my Senneliers
I recently saw a brand from Japan called Simba Lion. I have some Japanese kids crayons that are so buttery is it crazy. They are called Amos. I am hoping these Simba Lion's will be creamy to. I'm on my second set of oil pastels and they seem so chalky. If I try to layer I get these booger'y spots of oil pastel. I will have to try the Mungyo's. Thank you. Your videos are great. :)
I WISH I'd have watched this before I bought a set of Artist Loft. I have two other brands that I love. I actually have the metallic Mungyo set and LOVE them. The Artist Loft crumbles doesn't blend and I can't do anything with it. I'm definitely going Mungyo to add to my collection. Thank you for the review! I'm loving your videos. 😊
thank you for your tips! there is also an other set by Mungyo Gallery Artist's soft oil pastels that instead of professional says blendable. Is there any difference between them? because the set of 48 is much cheaper than the professional one
Great review, thank you. The funny part is that (well this is a review two years after this review was up). It is now in the range of 40 bucks. These sellers seem to see what youtubers are saying about their products and jack the proces up. Well done gteedy sellers
Can you review Buncho Oil Pastels. It is the standard student grade oil pastel where I'm from. It would be nice to see how it compares to the other student grade sets. Thanks you.
Plz review mont marte oil pastels they are really cheap but by the look of them and I also watched some people using them I think they are really good and the video is really helpful 👍👍👍
Great review. I’ve tried so many brands trying to dethrone the king sennelier for less money. But so far no luck. Love your oil pastel stuff. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much for that! Sennelier is by far the best! But at 4$ per stick you gotta get alternatives. I'm seriously impressed with these. The price is very decent for the pigment payoff. And in some instances I find Sennelier to be too gooey (mostly in the very first painting layers, I prefer a little firmer). Anyhoo - Your kind words are super appreciated! Thank you. Have a great weekend :)
I use the mungyo artist gallery soft pastels and I have some senneliers too, I honestly prefer the mungyos. The quality seems equal to me but the senneliers are physically so small in comparison and don't last anywhere close to as long as these mungyos do. Since owning a set of each I don't think I'd ever pay for senneliers again.
thanks for the review. I already have a Pentel (50) oil pastel and struggling to buy a caran D'ache Neocolor II or Mungyo Gallery oil pastel. I used the caran D'ache Neocolor II and they are water solvable and its so nice!!! I normally draw smaller things. How would you recommend? thanks
Thanks for the review on Mungyo artist oil pastels but how lightfast are they. I have read that some colours fade after a month or so of exposure to sunlight. I was just wondering what your experiences of their lighfastness were.
Thank you. I love your great review. I got one of 48 pieces. Have you use the Water soluble oil pastel as well? Mungyo has them. And since the 12 pc is affordable I just got them as well. Could you use these two types of oil pastels on top of each other ( similar to using acrylic underneath oil)? I don’t think it is an unreasonable question here. :-). Thank a bunch.
I’ve seen Mungyo Artist’s soft oil pastel that says “Premium” on Amazon and I’ve seen it say “Professional” at Hobby Lobby. Are they they same? They have the same exact cover.. only those words are different.
If one of the boxes is larger than the other then the smaller boxed version are lower quality and the sticks aren't as large. They aren't bad pastels but they aren't the ones you want.
How many colours are recommended? I'm choosing between the 36 and 48, which one is advised? I'm not sure if all the colours I would need are in the 36. I'm good with the 48 but the price is higher:/
you should review the Faber Castell oil pastels (I think there's a creative studio line and a kids line, but I use the ones marketed for kids) because I've been using them for a while and they've been working like a dream. I think they'd be a good set to recommend to beginners but it'd be cool to see your opinion/maybe comparison between similar brands.

Hi Syndia! Can you please explain the toxicity of Mungyo Gallery Soft Oil Pastels. Some reviews explain they are toxic, while other say they are non-toxic. Thank you.
A lot of pigments (like cadmium for example) have the potential of being toxic but mostly if you inhale it (like with chalky pastels or spay paint) or if you ingest it, as in have some on your fingers then eat a sandwich without washing your hands. And I can't say this brand or that brand isn't toxic, it's more about specific colors/pigments that are used that can be toxic. Unless it's oil pastels made for kids that specifically state non-toxic on the package. If you want to be 100% safe wear gloves and you'll be fully protected. I personally just make sure I don't touch my face when using them and I scrub my fingers and under my nails with a brush right after using them. I'm not very afraid of toxicity with oil pastels. Mediums that are more tricky and that I'm skittish about are Oil Paint, Spray Paint, Dry Pastel and resin. Hope it helps.
👍 Have these and love them. Also have some caran d’ache and Sennelier too :) Want to know if you have tried crayola oil pastels, the texture of these are surprisingly good and sooo cheap. Would love you to review Koh I noor Giaconda oil pastels can’t find a review anywhere and am intrigued! Thanks , keep up the great work

You want to search for GALLERY oil pastels, those are the good ones :o) They are made by Mungyo but Gallery will be the Name Brand on the box. Hope this helps!
These oil pastels really are absolutely amazing! They will even go over Sennelier, despite Sennelier's insane pigment load and softness (and sometimes that's necessary because they do have some unique colors that you would want to use as the top layer). I use them in combination with Sennelier and really don't see the need for any other oil pastels. I just wish they have a bigger color range!
@@SyndiaArt Thank you for your answer :-). Maybe some people answer later too. The Mungyo are hard to find in Germany and more expensive than the Jaxons. I bought a barely used 24 set of Mungyo gallery on ebay for 5 Euros this week. They are the hardest oil pastels I have ever had but they blend amazingly. They are called Gallery on the box and have a wrapper around each crayon saying Gallery, but the packaging looks different, it´s this colorful gradient from yellow to orange to purple. I know that the person who sold these oil pastels had them laying around for quite some time already, and I saw another older package of Mungyo gallery being sold on ebay that looks the same. Now I am wondering though whether this really is just an old package or whether the Mungyo Gallery that you are showing in this video are different from the ones that I got. Do you maybe know if they used to come in a different package? And are your Mungyos also really hard, almost like wax crayons? I am very happy with my oil pastels but a little confused.
