Omg brothers, this was a deep cut that I haven't heard in years. I forgot how funky that song is, it's one of those that's kind of overshadowed by their hits. Thank you so much for reminding me how stellar this album is! Keep diving into Heart's early stuff, Anne is the best and Nancy blends in so well with her sister. How appropriate brothers to do Led and Heart today, you're the best!
Agree 100%. They need to listen to all of Dreamboat Annie since in it's own way, a front to back theme album. Brought back soooo many good memories of the Summer of 1982 when we wore this album out!
Roger Fisher did most of the lead guitar work for Heart in the 70s. Nancy Wilson mostly played acoustic guitar on this album. She played electric guitar on the song "White Lightning and Wine", which you both would probably like.
Especially in the 80s and 90s their best songs were not the Top 40 singles. If Looks Could Kill, The Wolf, Shell Shock, Bad Animals, The Night, Wild Child, Black on Black, etc.
Love Ann Wilson's voice, she's always been my favorite female lead singer. Thanks for the reaction, there's so many great songs by Heart. You Hit the nail on the head, with the Led Zeppelin Robert Plant connection.❤
A deep rabbit hole with Heart. This song is one of my favorites of many favorites. Thanks for reviewing since it wasn't one of their hits back in the day. It's one of those deep cuts that when you hear it you go woah what the hell was that? Oh and by the way, the incredible flute solo was played by Ann Wilson. Yeah, she's frickn' amazing.
Guys please react to Mistral Wind...you won't be disappointed!! Studio version!❤❤ Totally agree...female RP....you should also react to her cover of Kashmir...she kills it!
Great reaction guys!! YES, she is the female Robert Plant...and you're not the first to say it! This was coined back in the late 70's (and fuel was added to that fire as Heart did plenty of Zeppelin covers - Rock & Roll, Black Dog...) Concert I saw in 2013, the opener was Jason Bonham Experience (John Bonham's son) - and Heart did 6 covers to close their show, with Jason. Kashmir, Song Remains The Same, Battle Of Evermore, Stairway...Ann was hitting notes that Robert could only dream of hitting now! You might as well do this entire album - White Lightning & Wine, How Deep It Goes are two other deep cuts that get no attention from the mainstream. HIGHLY recommend two tracks from their follow up album, Little Queen: Dream Of The Archer/Sylvan Song - and you'll REALLY hear Ann's full potential! Cheers gents!!
Ye.ha... A perfect example of a great song that never got any air-time back in the day. A great follow-up to this song is White Lighting + Wine. It is a level-up on Sing Child...!
OMG I loved Heart. I was only 13 when it dropped but I sang at the top of my lungs in the car listening to Heart when I was 16 ❤ Keep going! Love your reactions! Oh and the electric guitarist on this one was Ann's 'Magic Man' ✨️
Thanks for reacting to this one guys, it's been a day since I have heard it! The Wilson sisters loved LZ and have covered many of their songs. In fact Ann just played here in town with her new band and did three covers of their songs! You need to put "The Battle of Evermore" on your list of LZ songs they covered to react to. Also, "Dog And Butterfly" lover is great, as well as the rest of this LP!! Peace!!
This was their debut album, every song on it and the next one, Little Queen (with Barracuda on it) we’re fire! Roger Fisher was their original guitarist and just killed everything he played! I’ve been lucky to have seen them many times living in the northwest, they originated from Seattle area and visited Oregon A LOT and still do. From the smallest barroom to the biggest stadium, THIS BAND ROCKS!!!!!
I would put this debut album by Heart up there with Zeppelin's or Boston's first album, No Question... Ann Wilson is a National Treasure, as is her sister Nancy Wilson. Rock Legends!!
I don't remember ever hearing this on the radio, but we definitely blasted this in our Chevy Wagon on 8-track. Also if you think she sounds like Robert Plant, you should hear their covers of Stairway to Heaven and Rock and Roll.
CORRECT on all accounts! They were VERY MUCH INFLUENCED by LED ZEPPELIN, and HEART always played 2 or 3 Zep Songs for their encores. HEART'S 1ST ALBUM was also the very 1st LP I bought, 14 years old, 1976!
Wow! Just sittin here watching Che's face cuz we all know how much he loves Ann's voice and I said outloud "Che's Songbird" -- I kid you NOT! -- then he says "she's like a Songbird"
And that’s Ann Wilson, playing the flute. and they played a lot of Zepplin in their younger days like rock ‘n’ roll. And she could sing the hell out of it.
Out of all the songs on this PHENOMINAL album, this and White Lightning and Wine were always my secret favorites.....both are just so out of the box bangers that are just overshadowed by all the other stellar music on the LP.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - I was WAITIN' FOR IT!!! Heart's favorite band, from all I've read, was Led Zeppelin and they wanted to rock as HARD as them!! I would say: mission accomplished!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm hearing some of these songs for the first time, right along with the 2 of you! I heard all their hits on the radio in the 70s and on MTV in the 80s, but only know a few deep cuts. Rockin Heaven Down is a great deeper cut of theirs that also rocks.
Magazine was Heart's unofficial 2nd album (on Mushroom Records) while technically Little Queen was their (chronological) second album on Portrait Records. Magazine dropped just before they released Dog and Butterfly making their third studio album.
Fantastic deep cut from Heart's first album!! Big thanks to whomever suggested it! Regarding Robert Plant -- Heart did a lot of Led Zeppelin covers when they were a young touring band before their albums were produced. Also, no keyboards in this song, and the guitar solo was Roger Fisher, the producer's brother and their main lead guitarist. The other is Howard Leese but not sure if Howard was on this song. Nancy does not play lead.
Ann Wilson on flute, Mike Derosier on drums really stands out for me. Robert Plant was her idol. They can do Zeppelin because they pretty much studied Zeppelin. I'd say she learned a lot listening to Robert.
That band...what can ya say? Those Wilson sisters? You know and yum. Also, everyone knows good darn and well that Hendrix would have had these two collab with him on something had he lived
This should have been one of their hits, but for some reason the fans never warmed to it like to Heart's other hits. Always been one of my favs. Roger Fisher was the lead guitarist and played lead and rhythm on this song. Nancy Wilson sometimes played electric but mostly acoustic until later after Roger and others left the band.
Guys-- lead guitarist was Roger Fisher. His style defined their rockin' style on the first 4 albums when they rocked out. Dreamboat Annie is a top tier album...every track. It's a blend of harder and softer styles. But--- all great! Dive in...T
Super deep cut, cool you found it. Ann Wilson's awesome, really great song for her. Original Heart was a great band and loved Zeppelin, so you can hear their influence all over Heart. Lead guitarist wasn't Nancy, was (?something) Fisher. He was great player. Very Hendrixy-Trower solo in this song (Univibe me, or a flanger, or what?), ironic w/ Trower album up in the background. Always fun to see what you're up to, always wonder where you get and how you choose the songs.
Well thanks for bringing this one back to me guys. I bought this album the moment it hit the stores after I heard it on the radio while I was getting ready for high school. One morni fell in love with heart the first time I heard them.
I saw them in '77, and can't remember if they played this. I guess they did, at the time they only had 2 albums out at the time, Dreamboat Annie and Little Queen.
You guys are slaying me with these deep cuts! Keep it up!! ❤ We took these album cuts for granted back in the day because the hits were so magnificent! Revisiting them today reminds me how great they really are!
Man, it's been too long since I've played this album and, yeah, I've still got all my vinyl. I knew Heart from way back, before they had their first hit. They played my high school at one of our dances and I saw them dozens of times throughout Vancouver, where they got their start. You goys are right on about hearing Robert Plant as Heart's sound in those early years was a magical blend of Zeppelin, R&B/Funk, Gypsy Folk and Rock. Hearing Ann sing from only 10 feet away was an experience. That's also her playing flute, which she brought out often back then. But Heart was always more than Ann and Nancy Wilson. They had bigger hits in the 80s, but this original band was incredible!
Ann on the flute guys. Roger's guitar work is stellar. 🔥 I listened to Dreamboat Annie a few weeks ago, gotta get my groove on every few months with my girls. 😂 Glad you liked it. Would love your thoughts on "Straight On," please.
Ann, the lead vocalist also plays the flute on this...... Fire.
Just one of the very best rock singers. Period> Full stop.
White Lightning and Wine is another great deep cut from this album.
Listen to this whole album!! Great
Roger Fisher did most of the lead guitar work for Heart in the 70s. Nancy Wilson mostly played acoustic guitar on this album. She played electric guitar on the song "White Lightning and Wine", which you both would probably like.
White Lightning is a Level-up on Sing Child...!
Yes to White Lightning and Wine.
Thought it was Howard leese
Ann Wilson was a huge Robert Plant fan... You can definitely hear it more at this stage than later in her career.
You 2 are the first to review this Great song 🎶. Thank you 🙏 ❤
Nothing will ever top the 70s. Nope. Never. Not happenin. And you get it, women in rock just don’t get the same amount of love that men get. 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼❤❤❤
The ‘70’s is the era of real quality music. No doubt.
Alot of the best gems in rock can only be found if you listen to the albums not top 40 radio.
Especially in the 80s and 90s their best songs were not the Top 40 singles. If Looks Could Kill, The Wolf, Shell Shock, Bad Animals, The Night, Wild Child, Black on Black, etc.
Ann Killin the flute solo as well as vocals. ✌🏼
Ann Wilson playing the flute...awesome. She played in her high school marching band.
You hit one of the best Heart songs never played on radio. This is what I'm talkin' about with Heart. Vocals are pure heaven on this track.
Love Ann Wilson's voice, she's always been my favorite female lead singer. Thanks for the reaction, there's so many great songs by Heart. You Hit the nail on the head, with the Led Zeppelin Robert Plant connection.❤
There ya go!! Love this tune. Ann on the flute and the great Roger Fisher on lead guitar
Hands down best heart song ever.., I here eddie, jimmy, and Angus in this song.. amazing funky to the bone
Love those sisters They are actually getting together for a concert New Years Eve
My girls❤. Thank you for doing this largely overlooked song. The entire album is fantastic, well worth listening to start to finish.
Ann is one of the most versatile singers. Loved them the most in this era before they changed to pop
Great reaction ! You guys are so on key. I do think Robert Plant was Ann Wilson's mentor. She's also an established flute player.
wore Dreamboat Annie out on the turntable! one of my favs!
Roger Fisher, underrated and awesome.
Guys please react to Mistral Wind...you won't be disappointed!! Studio version!❤❤ Totally agree...female RP....you should also react to her cover of Kashmir...she kills it!
The live version in Seattle 2002 (or '03) is fantastic, too. Mistral Wind is the sister's favorite song.
Great tune, perfect album! My favorite track is “Soul of the Sea”.
Great reaction guys!! YES, she is the female Robert Plant...and you're not the first to say it! This was coined back in the late 70's (and fuel was added to that fire as Heart did plenty of Zeppelin covers - Rock & Roll, Black Dog...) Cheers gents!!
These chicks can rock. Yes, Zep's alter ego (the Wilson sisters have admitted their elegance to the gods of rock) The album is a masterpiece.
Ann Wilson is the greatest rock singer ever
Ye.ha... A perfect example of a great song that never got any air-time back in the day. A great follow-up to this song is White Lighting + Wine. It is a level-up on Sing Child...!

"say hello" "little queen" "dreamboat annie" "love alive"
Their "Love Me Like Music" from this album is 🔥🔥🔥. Killer reaction, y'all! Keep 'em coming! P.L.U.R.R. from Texas!
“And I’ll be your song”!!! Such an awesome song!!!
Oh yeah! Thank you for reacting to this.. You guys are the best reaction channel!!!
Those guitars are a perfect match with Ann's incredible voice.
Fellas proving daily they the best reactors hands down 🔥. Perfect breakdown
great choice & reaction ! You should do this entire album !
I was 15 or 16 when this came out. Saw them live multiple times and we rocked them so hard for so long! Look how young Nancy is in this picture!
The first 3 or 4 albums from HEART were fantastic! Great band, great singers! Glad you guys are reacting to them!
I don't remember ever hearing this on the radio, but we definitely blasted this in our Chevy Wagon on 8-track. Also if you think she sounds like Robert Plant, you should hear their covers of Stairway to Heaven and Rock and Roll.

He loves Ann!!!
Want a nice jam session song like this or canya hear me knocking...listen to Angry Eyes by Loggins and Messina ...will blow you away
How about Pathway to Glory by Loggins and Messina!??
live from Santa Barbara is the best.
That's Ann playing the flute! Amazing singer and she can blow (literally)
Whole lp was so different at the time. Great lp. So good. Seen them about 77-78, amazing concert. All real, no bs. Memories.
Roger Fisher and Howard Leese play the electric guitar leads. Howard also played the keyboards.
Wilson sisters are a national treasure. These early ones had my favorite band. Heart was inspired by Zep and Ann loved Robert's thing.
Que buena música, me encantó
Pure Perfection! One of my all time favorite Heart tracks:) I see that awesome Robin Trower cover behind you guys. This era of rock music was magical!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - I was WAITIN' FOR IT!!! Heart's favorite band, from all I've read, was Led Zeppelin and they wanted to rock as HARD as them!! I would say: mission accomplished!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I had this album in 77!!! Great singing
Magnífico
My favorite by Heart
She had a world-class voice coach David Kyle in Seattle.
You have to listen to their unofficial first album "Magazine" that came out after due to a label dispute, it's a banger all the way.
Magazine was Heart's unofficial 2nd album (on Mushroom Records) while technically Little Queen was their (chronological) second album on Portrait Records. Magazine dropped just before they released Dog and Butterfly making their third studio album.
Thank you for more Heart.
If I may, I truly wish to see y’all witness: These Dreams/Crazy on You (live from Rock Hall Induction concert)
It has been so long since I heard this. What a great tune.
This reminds me of Led Zeppelin's Heartbreaker. I see Robin Trower's 1st album in the background, Sweet!
Fantastic deep cut from Heart's first album!! Big thanks to whomever suggested it! I hope that was my request, one of my top 10 songs ever ,nice job can't help but love that

I've never heard this before. Willing to explore
Have you guys seen the tribute to Led Zeppelin ?? Heart sings stairway to heaven!! INCREDIBLE
Super deep cut, cool you found it. Ann Wilson's awesome, really great song for her. Original Heart was a great band and loved Zeppelin, so you can hear their influence all over Heart. Definitely some Jethro Tull influence in this song.
A lot of whaa, whaa pedal on the guitar 🎸love the song.
Deeeeep cut.Have'nt heard this one in years!
Fantastic album from my teen years!
Never did get a chance to see them live....this whole album is sweet. Thanks for the great reaction, as usual!
Two words, Roger Fisher!!!!!
HEART ROCKS 😊
That was a cameo by Ron Burgundy on jazz flute. Kidding - it was Ann Wilson.
You guys are slaying me with these deep cuts! Keep it up!! ❤ We took these album cuts for granted back in the day because the hits were so magnificent! Revisiting them today reminds me how great they really are!

Excelente trabajo
Heart in many ways can be considered a Zep tribute band, they modeled themselves after Zep and absolutely adored them!
I think Zeppelin was their biggest influence, you nailed it guys!
Excelente
You should give mistral wind, a Lesson absolutely phenomenal song
Check out White Lightning and Wine on this album!!!
Thank you for reaction gents! Big fan of early as well. 'Say Hello' is tasty. 😊
Oohh
Heart is so damn good
Ann on the flute guys. Roger's guitar work is stellar. 🔥
I listened to Dreamboat Annie a few weeks ago, gotta get my groove on every few months with my girls. 😂 Glad you liked it.
Would love your thoughts on "Straight On," please.
Wao
Ann Wilson. That's all you need to know. 😍
I was looking for Will Ferrell when that flute started up.
Wow excellent
