Ive never considered channies and cobras to be the same tools. Both work great for different purposes

Noble!!!! That is the word I have been searching for to describe Henry - Noble!!! He is the smartest dog on the internet and he is a noble soul !!!!! I mean look at the expression on his face. It shouts nobility!!!! Ha!!!! He could not have a better dad CP. I have been a dog whisperer nearly all my life. I actually speak dog. hahahahahahahaha!!! Bottom line you & Henry are as good of a example of why dogs are described as man's best friend as I have seen. Hanging around you he knows more about mechanics tools than any other dog on the planet. As for the subject matter of this video expertly exhibited & explained... I have Channellocks that I have used for 50 years & love them. I have the Knipex Cobras that are amazing as are the plier wrenches But I have a tip for you my good friend I just bought a pair of Tsunoda PL-200 slip joints that are the best I have ever used. They are as good as the WF Craftsman!! Thank you for taking time to make these videos CP. I honestly have a more positive outlook on my day after watching.

That push button is the best. No more channel lock falling open when you are working with one hand.

Love my Knipex Cobras. Had a friend that used to go on road calls for heavy equipment. He took: adjustable wrench, vice grips, hammer, Phillips screwdriver, and Cobra pliers. He was able to take care of 80% of the problems lol.

I don’t know brother, the Channellock Speedgrips are what I’ve been using over my Knipex Cobra’s and Knipex adjustable wrench. Channellock really knocked it out the park on them.

I only buy Channellock groove joint pliers myself because they're a reliable tool at a great price, Wilde does make a good tool but they're not in any retail locations near me.
If Channellock pliers stop working for me I'll switch to WILDE , and if those start to disappoint I'll look into Knipex but until that day I just don't need them myself.
It's a cost vs need thing for me.
The Channellock #460 is under $30, the equivalent Knipex size is about $75 I believe.

@@AshleyDonald-gr3cm why would I want to give these German made pliers a try whe all the American made pliers from Channellock that I own have served me so well without fail ?
As an American I will continue to buy the good quality American made products that have served me well.
I have absolutely no need or desire to buy any of their pliers, and owning/ liking Knipex pliers is not mandatory just because they're currently trendy.
The hype will eventually fade to a point where people aren't talking about them every two seconds, and owning other brands will be considered acceptable by the" popular kids " again.

1st of all I'm about 30 years from being a " Boomer ", and 2nd of all I don't take that as an insult regardless.
Now if I'm supposed to be a " Boomer " what are you, a teenager who resorts to insulting anybody who refuses to jump on the latest bandwagon?
I would say I don't care what people think, but honestly I'm glad there are Knipex groupies like you out there hating anybody who doesn't follow.
It prompted my vehement refusal to jump on the bandwagon and continues to make the decision so much easier.

@@TylerSnyder305 I don't hate u or anybody for that matter slick. I I ever do is try to help ppl and give advice from my past experiences. Matter of fact the only reason I have time to go back and forth with you is because I saved so much time on my last job. Because of my Cobras of course. I support American made anything. But I am also willing to accept some things from other places are superior to what we have here. And I'm glad they do. We can't be first or best at everything man. It would be ignorant to believe we are. We are all on this rock we call home together man. Open your mind a tad bit and try a pair of knipex Cobras. I double dog dare you to give em a shot. Then after a week or so come back on here and tell me you appreciate the recommendation. USA, Swiss, German, Japan, Italy, France, basically any well established country other than the just pushing Chinesiam crap will all have a place in an open minded man that's good with his hands. Have a grand ol day sir. Can't wait to hear back from you about how you liked the Cobras.

I actually have an early pre patent pair of Champion De'arment #420 Channellock pliers made in 1933 which belonged to my grandfather , and they still work fine.
I have had to sharpen the teeth and the design wasn't quite refined 100% yet at that point so the 50's+ examples perform better but they have held up well over the 90 years they've been around.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I kind of always hated the traditional Channelock pliers. I just never could stand slip joints. I feel like they are really mediocre at a lot of things, and aren't great at anything. I love my Knipex, they were one of those tools I instantly wished I had gotten years earlier.

Before anyone wants to bust my chops I have several pairs of knipix the best type is the cobra pliers they have channellock is the original water pump style pliers and they also stole the jaw design if the cobra but it's all fair they stole the water pump design my favorite pair is my 7 inch SK by western forge this is coming from a Tool snob and I like how Capri came out a copy that is not a direct cheap knockoff version of original
