4:09 so this is what Marty McFly meant in Back to the Future when he told the diner cook from 1955 "Yeah, let me get a tab" and the cook confusingly looked at him and said "Tab? I can't give you a Tab unless you order something..." Makes sense now 😂
Not only did the joke make me laugh in that movie, but the fact that anyone would order a Tab. It's one of the worst things I've had come out of a can.
Born 79. The 80s and 90s were amazing!! I drank Jolt once, and was up for 3 days straight. I was 12. Drinking from the water hose because you were locked outside to play from the time you woke up, to the time the street lights came on. My sister and I had to eat lunch outside on the step. We were only allowed inside to use the bathroom. 80s cereal and Saturday morning cartoons.
I was born at the very end of 1980 and this video brings me back! Pudding Pops were so good! So were the Hostess Pudding Pies. And I loved Dr. Pepper and Cherry 7 Up bubble gum. I wish they were still available. Giggles! I forgot about those! The 80s were a simpler time and a great decade to grow up. I remember spending summer days riding bikes with friends in my neighborhood, going to each other's houses and coming home when it got dark. All the parents looked out for each other's kids and didn't care to have kids running around their houses and yards. The best decades were the 80s and 90s and I'm so glad I grew up then. It's so funny to see trends from the 80s and 90s coming back now that my kids are teenagers. And my kids like 80s and 90s music (even though they sometimee won't admit it)because that's the only music I listen to. The 80s definitely had the best music.

I'm so old, in High school in the 70s we had a smoking area. FOR THE STUDENTS! It was outdoors and you had to have your parent's approval. That seems so insane now. And I'm so glad I never smoked.
We had a smoking section too, same thing, you had to get written permission from your parents. Looking back now I'm really surprised they still allowed it since it was the early 90s
Born in '81 and I remember almost all of these things. So many great things gone! Pudding pops were great! Wrinkled fruit, and even any of the really great fruit snacks! I'd have one after school every day. Hot pockets were always good, but there was always part that was still cold and a part that was like fuckin' lava. Needed to let it sit a while. I remember the cereals, I had some of the Nintendo one after begging my parents forever to get some to try it. I also loved the Ecto Coolers that they showed at the beginning, but never talked about in the video. So many great things gone, but not forgotten. Also, YES! You need to get a PO box so we can send you things to try!
Born in early 70s. 70s and 80s were a great time. So much more simpler times. This brought back a lot of memories. Pudding pies were great. Pepsi for the win!
I was born in the 1950s. The mid 1970s to 1990 was a time of peace. And it was very good to be alive. Especially for my children. I was military and was deployed much of the time. But I remember the products of the 1980s.

Coca-Cola did have cocaine in it but that was back in the late 1800's to the early 1900's. I think it ended shortly before 1905. It was marketed as "The Cola with a kick".
Dude. Tato Skins were amazing. Those TGIF potato skin chips that are around today are just NOT the same. The original were legit made mostly of the skins of the potato.
Pudding pops were amazing. The reason that Jello could not make a profit off of them is because every house in the USA at that time had popsicle molds where you could make them yourself for pennies! They were creamy and less solid than regular pop sicles which made them easy to take a bite out of!
I was a young adult in the '80s. I remember a lot of these, but mostly the Oreo Big Stuff, because they used the catchy 1971 hit "Mr. Big Stuff" in the commercial.
McDLTs were the bomb. Closest thing a fast food chain could get to home-made hamburgers. The veggies were cool & crisp and tasted better for it. The burger patties were hot and tasted better than almost anywhere else. The two halves being separated didn't slow you down at all--especially if you're someone who adds mustard, salt & pepper, and ketchup to your burgers. --Dan
Pudding pops were my favorite. Jello started making frozen jello pops too but I think they weren’t profitable because it only lasted a few years. I was born in 74 so for the most part I grew up in the 80s
My mom made "homemade" pudding pops out of plain yogurt and grenadine (a pomegranate syrup). We found some pop molds, so we'd mix the two together, spoon it into the pop, insert the top that had a "stick" in it, freeze. Oh so refreshing on a hot Florida day in the 1980s!
That actually sounds really good. I was a bus boy at Red Lobster in the seventies and we used to go to the bar and get a glass of sprite and put grenadine in it. Good stuff!
Turned 14 in '80, so I remember most of these. I don't remember ever trying pudding pops, and I'm probably the only one in the US that's never had a McRib. I'm a Pepsi guy through and through, but I remember Slice and I loved the apple one. Never tried any of the more bazaar cereals, but still love frosted flakes and apple jacks to this day. Being a teen in the 80's was the best ever though. Incredible music, some great movies and just spending the day riding bikes with your friends, and your parents didn't want to see you until the street lights started to come on. Driver's license at 16 and then driving my parent's '72 GMC 4x4 pickup to school, and then play school bus with about 15 people in the back on the way home after school. And yes, I dropped 'em off at their bus stops; they weren't helping with gas money and I wasn't an Uber. ha ha. I love your videos, Adam. Keep 'em commin'! (No, I didn't spell that with a "u") :P
Bruh, the next time the McRib comes back you NEED to at least try it! It's the greatest thing McDonalds has ever produced IMHO. Also, completely agree, the 80's was the greatest decade (at least in my lifetime)
Graduated from my Texas high school in 1983... I vividly remember many of these creations. Nowadays their sugar content would probably put me into a diabetic coma. Even remember walking a few blocks to the "dime store" as a kid in the 70's to buy "Pixie Sticks" (nothing but colored sugar) and "Pop Rocks", a tiny candy that literally exploded when you put them in your mouth...
Awesome Teenage Years It was an Incredible time to grow up in.. Movies, Music, Fashion, Arcade games, Drive-in's, TV Shows First Home Computers and Video Game consoles: I had a TI99-4A and a Commodore 64
Is there a way you can set up a post box that isn't your home address, like at the post office or somethin and that way people can send you stuff if they want to? Just an idea
Born in 1975, I grew up in the 1980’s! TAB was my FAVORITE diet Soda EVER!!!!! I cried tears of joy when they brought it back and tears of sadness when they canceled it almost 2 years ago.
I, as well grew up in the 80's. It was the age of decadence.. and I loved pudding pops. As well as Boopers... So good. As well as jolly rancher sticks. My favorites were cinnamon, watermelon, apple. Hostess had a coffee cake that had a really thick cinnamon strudel that you could take off. I would eat that first. Hensens would make an apple soda that was great. Cherry 7-up was awesome. Now it tastes weird. And Mars bar yummy. As well as Mother's cookies that were called Flaky Flicks yummy...
4:14 Yes. When it was launched, not in the 1980s 😂. When launched, Coca-Cola's two key ingredients were cocaine and caffeine. The cocaine was derived from the coca leaf and the caffeine from kola nut (also spelled "cola nut" at the time), leading to the name Coca-Cola. Pemberton called for five ounces of coca leaf per gallon of syrup (approximately 37 g/L), a significant dose; in 1891, Candler claimed his formula (altered extensively from Pemberton's original) contained only a tenth of this amount. Coca-Cola once contained an estimated nine milligrams of cocaine per glass. (For comparison, a typical dose or "line" of cocaine is 50-75 mg.) In 1903, it was removed. After 1904, instead of using fresh leaves, Coca-Cola started using "spent" leaves - the leftovers of the cocaine-extraction process with trace levels of cocaine. Since then (by 1929), Coca-Cola has used a cocaine-free coca leaf extract.
I love the gum carton point. Even today at Christmas I get a carton of gum cuz it's a family classic. We call it "the minute gum" because it looses all satisfaction until you toss another 2 into your Gob a minute later. Usually lasts til 1/2/XX or 1/5/XX if your big on chips and salsa.
I was born in '84 and I remember as a kid in school in the 90s, we had doritos sold in a vending machine. I loved Cool Range Doritos, but noticed one day that they said "Cooler Range Doritos." They doubled the seasoning on the chips and it was delicious. It stayed that way for a while before I noticed they went back to Cool Ranch Doritos. They went back to the old name, but kept the amount of seasoning they used for the Cooler Ranch Doritos.
So many of these take me back to my childhood in the 80s and 90s. Many of these were so good. I'll have to go through this again later and comment on each when i have the time. I
Absolutely the best decade! I was a teen then so of course I'm biased, lol. JELLO pudding pops were AMAZING! I think they stopped making money I think because frozen yogurt sort of exploded right there in the 90s. No Coke Zero and Diet Coke are not the same. Coke Zero has less caffeine, uses two different artificial sweeteners and a different flavor profile. The "soda" bubble gums were kinda nasty. The Dr. Pepper one was the only one that had a flavor that didn't die out after 30 sec. The pudding pies were exactly like you think...too much filling. Hot Pockets are the shit. My favorite is the classic pepperoni with the garlicy crust. The Nerds are still out there selling.
The Bar None bar was actually re-christened the "Thingamajig" and later the "Whozeewhatzit" to match the Whatchamacallit; a similar, yet more popular Hershey product.
One item they missed was Morton Frozen Donuts. Oh my heavens. They were "sugar raised" with a "red" (cherry? strawberry? raspberry? something red) jam interior. Yes, you had to cook them in the oven (reheat, in truth) for 30 minutes, but worth the wait. I read they went out of business in the early 2000s. But what would I do for a box of Mortons donuts....mmmmm.
I REMEMBER TAB!!! My mother grew up as a Juvenile Diabetic....we in turn, because she was a single Mom, ate and drank a LOT of the sugar-free items... We were allowed one glass of TAB and my mother's stove-top recipe for popcorn, on Disney Movie night...this was before cable T.V....we only had maybe around 13 channels, (really trying to remember,...2 PBS 3,6,7, ...4 and 12?, 5 and 12?...then UHF...25, 38, 56..I kind of want to say 8 and 9...not sure)..a lot of them were affiliated showing the same thing... so you had to adjust your antenna to hopefully pick-up one of them.😊😊😊 Born 1971 and damn proud of it.
Kid of the 80’s here and dude there was so much good stuff in there! From bonkers to tato skins and the California raisins! FYI nerds are still very much a thing and you should try a nerds rope. Now last but not least the pudding pops. An absolute can’t miss! Those things were so good
I was in high school and college during the 80s. My parents were really careful with money so I didn't get to try half of these products, but what a fun trip down memory lane! Yes, the 80s were amazing. I still think it was one of the most iconic decades for music. But we also lived under the threat of nuclear attack from the USSR. It seems every decade has its high points and stresses. But the 80s really were amazing. Thanks for bringing us this react, Adam. Blessings
Back in the day, way back, Coca-Cola did have coca leaf extract, as a flavor as well as a stimulant, to work with the caffeine from other flavors. Back then the Coca-Cola syrup was sold separately from soda water, mixed in the pharmacy, in the early days of soda fountain bars. They used to sell pediatric cough syrups with heroine, too.
Born in '76 and I remember the 80s well. I was a huge fan of Jello Pudding Pops. Peanut Butter Boppers were awesome and I think they made me fall in love with peanut butter. I didn't care for the McDLT and the Ribwich, I was all about the Chicken McNuggets. If I could go back in time, I'd spend a week in 1985, living in an arcade with pocketfuls of quarters and eating all the food I remember.
Out of high school in 1982, I remember all these snack foods. I remember the cola wars and when Coke came out with "new" coke. Hated that! Some will argue that that was the biggest corporate mistake while others will say it was the best marketing ploy ever. Video introducing Jello pudding pops. Adam's response - "I don't know, I don't know, I don't know..... NA NA NA NA NA NA". 🤣🤣🤣 Those pudding pops were pretty good Adam. This sure did bring back memories. Thanks Adam!
Hey Lewis, Stacey, here is the Midwest, Chicago, to be precise. I agree, Chicago has so many beautiful parks. Chicagoans tend to greet each other with a smile. If you're walking about and lock eyes with someone, you tend to say how ya doing or just give a smile or head nod or a head nod and a smile. Restaurants have fruit, just depends on what type of restaurant you go to. Lewis, only time gratuity is automatically added if it's a group of 8 people or more. A lot of restaurants have cups and jars on the counter near the register. So , when you pay and get any change back, you can just put the change in the cup. Yes, I'm biased to Chicago. Too casual throw around racism and not realizing a lot of countries don't want Americans there. No one is dumb enough to cut a line because there's gonna be an issue. Even if you had someone hold your spot or happen to see someone you know and start talking to them, someone is bound to say something. How is it that someone who left at 22 and didn't get the chance to truly experience the States have so much to say, smh.
early, early. yes there was cocaine. not anymore. Coke Zero is NOT the same as diet coke, its 1000 times better than diet coke. It is in fact their best selling product and occasionally sells out
So many memories! I had completely forgotten about Giggles cookies. I remember loving them! I also loved the orange chewing gum in the containers. I even remember orange flavored Triaminic, it was my go to flavor of medicine in the 80s. I haven’t seen orange flavored medicines for kids in ages. It’s either berry, grape or bubblegum flavor. Now I want to eat some orange candy or make some orange koolaid! 😂
Born in 68...I loved the pudding pops. There was coke had coke in it when they first started out .lol. the pudding pies were delicious..vanilla was ma fave..loves orange slice

They were creamy and less solid than regular pop
sicles which made them easy to take a bite out of!
Re Coke: In 1903, cocaine was removed, leaving caffeine as the sole stimulant ingredient, and all medicinal claims were dropped.
Good stuff!
@@slabriprock5329 Isn't that called a Shirley Temple? After the actress?
The Mc DLT was so awesome. You wouldn’t think it would make a difference but it really did.
The Ghostbusters Hi-C Ecto Cooler should've been on this list. One of the best drinks ever. It came out in 1989.
Awesome Teenage Years
It was an Incredible time to grow up in..
Movies, Music, Fashion, Arcade games,
Drive-in's, TV Shows
First Home Computers and
Video Game consoles:
I had a TI99-4A and a Commodore 64
Unreal time!
roller skating rinks and hanging out like rats at the mall arcade. good times indeed
I remember having the gum that was in the little juice boxes, those were fun.
Yes, there was cocaine in Coca-Cola - in 1908! I think they were forced to remove the addictive ingredients by laws passed in the 1910's.
Re-living the 80's all over again..thanks 😂😂😂😂
Rumor has it that in Colombia, Coca-Cola still has small amount of cocaine in the drink.
Pudding Pops were awesome . . They stopped making them because the process was expensive, so their profits were low.
Is there a way you can set up a post box that isn't your home address, like at the post office or somethin and that way people can send you stuff if they want to? Just an idea
80's music!!! Snacks, soda with actual sugar...
Those jello pudding pops were so good. Haha
Born in 1975, I grew up in the 1980’s! TAB was my FAVORITE diet Soda EVER!!!!! I cried tears of joy when they brought it back and tears of sadness when they canceled it almost 2 years ago.
I was born in 1952, but I also loved TAB and really miss it!
Jell-o Pudding Pops where the absolute best, I remember when you could get them at Burger King. And Adam it wasn't just pudding that was frozen lol
Yes that’s why it’s called Coca-Cola coca was one of the main ingredients but that was in the early 1900
Diet Coke had 30 calories a serving they made coke 0 to compete with Diet Pepsi which had 0 calories. I once worked for coke
I was in my 20’s during the 80’s. What a good time
Love it!
Same here!
Oh Adam you do not know what you are missing, Jell-O pudding pops were the best ever, so damn good!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanna try some now!
Pudding Pops are AWESOME!!! They just tasted like a 'fudgsicle' or very smooth frozen chocolate ice cream on a stick!
There is a reason Gen X was the best generation to grow up in. ❤
Pudding pops were great! I love the pudding pies, too.
The 80's was my mid teen to mid 20s. What a awesome time it was to be alive...cars, music, skating rinks, parties everywhere.
Oh, the look he’s gave when he saw Bill Cosby as the spokesman 😂
😂😂😂
Diner food is the best!!There was a throw back 50's style one when I was in highschool they must have HATED us 🤣👍
Pudding Pops were Amazing !!!! The chocolate swirl mmmmmmmmm
I grew up in the 80s, woohoo
Love it!
Same. It was the best of times.
Me too. Greatest decade ever. Best music ever created
@@artemis009 yeah the 80s was great

Man, what I'd give to enjoy Bonkers again. I can remember the taste of them even now, 30 some years later.
The Bar None bar was actually re-christened the "Thingamajig" and later the "Whozeewhatzit" to match the Whatchamacallit; a similar, yet more popular Hershey product.
Pudding pops are outstanding!
Blessings
Pudding Pops were awesome! The vanilla was my favorite.
I’ve been drinking Diet Coke since it was introduced, despite my mom telling me that I was drinking arsenic
🤣🤣🤣
Back in the day, way back, Coca-Cola did have coca leaf extract, as a flavor as well as a stimulant, to work with the caffeine from other flavors. Back then the Coca-Cola syrup was sold separately from soda water, mixed in the pharmacy, in the early days of soda fountain bars. They used to sell pediatric cough syrups with heroine, too.
lol I will always remember Jason Alexander (George Costanza) in the McDLT commercial singing.
Coca cola's original recipe actually did have cocaine in it that's kinda how it was named.😂
13:05 OH MY GOD!!!! I remember these!!!! I'd completely forgot about them!!!
I was born in 2002, but man, I miss the 80s!
The 80s were a GREAT time to grow up!! And pudding pops were AMAZING!
It is in fact their best selling product and occasionally sells out
Brings me back. I remember a lot of these foods. The gum cartons were addictive
50'-60'S....BEST TIME
I loved the pudding pops!! I'm so upset they were discontinued 😢. I grew up in the 80s and had most of these items as a kid. This was truly nostalgic.
You have probably had an orange slice before. They had Crush and Slice. Now we have Sunkist.
Born in 68...I loved the pudding pops. There was coke had coke in it when they first started out .lol. the pudding pies were delicious..vanilla was ma fave..loves orange slice
I love watching your videos!
Thanks!
