His comments on not wanting anyone to know his speed is very salient. I often don't like to mention to employers any time I speed up my processes, they'd just fill it with more work(not all of it necessary).
While I'm not an artist, I still work at "Ohio unemployment pace" as Mark Mothersbaugh calls it. I'm not slow if I suddenly show up.
One of my fave batman illustrators growing up. His influence on batman is undeniable.

While his Batman stuff is iconic, his creator owned book The Hammer is just so phenomenal.

Man... leafing through those Diamond Previews during the '90s in my local comic shop in the Netherlands.. when i saw the names Matt Wagner or Kelley Jones i had to pre-order it. Truly two of my favorites.
Kelly's Micronauts work was wild. I was only 10 or 11 but I definitely paid attention. You have to bring him back to talk about Deadman and Venom too

Great interview, thanks guys. You should do Sandman 18 by Kelley Jones - it's a cat comic, and Dave Sim has said it's his favourite comic (not that I would hold him to that)

so happy with the coloring choice.. i absolutely hate how modern comics have colors so dark it effs up the art, losing all the fine details
i totally agree... i was on the side of - oh man, why don't they do that b&w... until i saw those first colored pages and they are just mind-blowing
He did a variant for Detective Comics a few months ago. It's just Batman standing under a 1930's looking lamp post in the middle of the snow. It was so simplistic yet hauntingly beautiful. The man hasn't lost a step.

Wow. Thank you for this. This interview was formidable! I’m not a comic guy, but I’m a story lover, especially visual, sequential story lover and maker - so I watch this channel religiously.
Great interview. I want a full shoot interview. I could listen to Mr Jones chat for hours. He's been #1 on my list for a commission, and seeing at a con. I'm hoping he gets invited to the PHX con soon. Hope, he and Mr Wagner will come to promote the book.

Ed, Jim, I live only a half an hour north of you guys and I'm on my way down right now to take both your pulses; because other than being clinically dead, I'm not sure how two comic fans can talk to Kelley Jones and Matt Wagner at the same time without screaming and pissing their pants just like 15 year old girls would at a Beatles show.
practical question... will this comic be available for bookstores or only for kickstarters? i work in a bookstore in the Netherlands and would like to order it for our store (and myself). Kickstarten shipping is a lot.
