Excellent conversation. I think depression and disappointment are two separate things. Depression is a state of consciousness that is horrible to fall into and difficult to pull yourself out of. Disappointment, is a temporary event that is not as extreme. Best wishes for anyone suffering from depression.
Everything he said about your portrayal as Lex Luthor on Smallville is Sooo correct. Never seen this kind of thing pointed out before about your character. Thank you again for making our childhood awesome Rosey!
Regarding personality, Patton's on the money, exactly right. The big difference between fictional Lex Luthor and real-world techbros like Musk or Bezos is the fact that Luthor is an actual genius in many ways, but the techbros are for the most part morons who started with a ton of money and had a knack for buying up other people's good ideas. Watching any decent interview with Musk just makes you shake your head and wonder how the hell he got where he is.
Really wonderful interview with Patton. Just an incredibly fun, smart and down-to-earth guy! Love your Remmy! ❤️🧡💛💚💙🩵💜 ❤ ! Thanks Michael and Patton- Bravo guys!
I just finished listening to this episode and Patton definitely opened up. Patton sharing the story about the loss of his wife is going to help so many people. I enjoyed his character on Parks and Rec. Have a great week everyone.

The working man in the UK, has their tea with milk and sugar, which is why that is classically called "Builders Tea". Certain types of tea are drunk in certain ways. Earl Grey can have milk, or Lemon. English Breakfast is best with milk, but the best selling varieties in the UK are basically builders tea, PG Tips, Tetley, Typhoo, Yorkshire Tea, etc. Take it from a Brit who is obsessed with his tea, especially as I live outside the UK now.

I was JUST telling my family, last night, I discovered why new movies and music is so lacking in creativity. And then I hear Oswalt talking about needing obscure years to find yourself. This was my exact thought last night. Filmmakers and Musicians no longer have years of boredom in silence to practice. When I was a kid, there were COUNTLESS hours and days where I had nothing to do, no one to talk to, no internet, no cell phone. So I had to find ways to stimulate my brain, which is where you begin practicing things. Then you become very good at that thing. Kids do not practice anymore. They are either on their phones or going straight into a project half-cocked. Then they make mediocre art. Before social media we had nothing to do but master things. We traded in our creativity and passion for passivity.
Really cool convo, guys. Great energy. Great back and forth. This interview made my day. One of those where I wish I was actually in the room (but ecstatic to be a spectator anyway). Great observations, Patton. One thing to add about Michael's tech bro Lex Luthor is the Trump-esque daddy issues which added another layer of complexity to the character. Hope there's another Patton appearance here in the not-too-distant future. 👍🏾
