A couple hundred plastic fish would probably come to about $100. You can hardly see them anyway.
What a great sense of responsibility, even the backlash, they still give reporter permit to interview and shoot the video. If this happen in Thailand.....This guy wouldn't be allowed to say a word.

Because It's disrespectul against nature! Would you be happy to see dead people (e.g. family members of you) frozen in the ice benath your feet, while I skate above them? That's fucking disrespectful!
It's bad enough that we kill animals to eat them. We should not amuse ourselfs upon their cadavers!

Then the people will go home and not realise that an awful lot of things in their house accounts to some degree to the suffering and 'disrespectful' use of animals, in much greater quantities than some ice rink. But no, they're outraged at this 'small' incident of skating over already dead fish from a fish market that would have had their corpses desecrated anyways for consumption? Is it only disrespectful if the animal is used for entertainment, education and awareness? It's different if we eat them? Those are some messed up priorities.
If we eat them, at least it makes even a bit sense to kill the animal in the first place.
But it is not necessary to get them killed, just to entertain and amuse ourself about their dead bodies afterwards.
