There is so many things I’d like to ask or question but the one thing that sticks in my mind from the start after losing your wife is you constantly saying “continuing to live the dream”…. That particular dream died when your wife passed away sadly. Nobody has the right to say how another person should grieve and there is no handbook that says how long a person should grieve, it’s completely individual but I struggle watching your uploads cause I just find so many contradictions in the things you say, your body language and your general attitude to your situation. I am an Aussie but I don’t get the yobbo mentality

There is a GOOD Reason to wait until grief subsides before starting a new relationship. Of course, we should all be careful about rationalizing something just to justify our desires. Wait a year, is probably good advice. Being in an isolated position leaves one vulnerable to any helping hand. Obviously.

I don't normally comment BUT be careful how you play this. You're basically living with Eids family who you still rely on for child support. They aren't going to allow someone else to walk in and take over running those kids. I've lived in this country a long time and know how you need to play it. Nobody expects you to be alone for ever but it's not going to be as easy as people are thinking. Good luck in you're future.
100% Ron. And I don't expect anyone to come along and look after my kids. At the same time the Thai family will want me the legal guardian of the kids to remain here. Anything could happen of course, but it's life. The twins should keep us all together and happy.
All I would say is go slowly with this new relationship. Three months is still early days. This new person might be the right person for you long term, or might just be the right person for now, to help heal your heart. It is normal to want to fill the huge hole left in your life due to your wife's passing. However in the rush of pleasure chemicals and the excitement of a new relationship, it is easy to miss red flags. And while you seem to be doing very well, recovering and getting back on your feet, being lonely and having experienced a relatively recent catastrophic loss can leave you vulnerable
Hi there @diannelee You’re comment is correct , I had a similar situation, twin daughters although 16th are old not babies like Ricky has , my wife passed away , 5 months down the line I met a woman face to face at her cafe and we spoke , she was exactly what I needed , someone who actually spoke to me like a normal person again , asked questions gave me advice and eventually love again , she saved my sanity and for that I was grateful, the problem I had was introducing her to my 16 year old daughters, after a bit they were ok with it as they saw a change in me , unfortunately it didn’t work out for us and after two years we separated, I won’t throw her under the bus by telling the reasons , but I still appreciate what she did to help me , I’m sure Ricky will have his eyes firmly on what’s happening and if it’s not good he won’t involve his young girls in something that’s not right , good on him and I hope he knows 99% of us are rooting for him , including you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Regards Davy

Hi Ricky Good on you , I for one am really pleased you have another someone in your life , it happened to me 5 months after my wife passed away , I met someone and she was the first person who actually asked questions about what happened and how was I coping , everyone else kind of kept their distance probably for fear of upsetting me , but she just spoke and listened. , a month or so later we had a date and were together for two years after that , unfortunately it never worked out for us , but I still say she saved my sanity , I was working 10 hours per day and also had twin daughters who fortunately were 16 so able to do things for themselves til I got home and made dinner, it’s a horrible situation to be in but you deserve to be happy , don’t listen to the haters. They don’t pay your bills so have no say in your life, do what you need to do for yourself and your daughters , good luck moving forward with your new friend and may it blossom into something more special, you’re on the mend , well done Regards Davy

3 months does seem quick to be moving on, I'm not being negative or criticizing you, nobody can judge without being in your situation. How do your in laws feel about you moving on? I will say even though it seems to be soon, you have to do what's right for you with having 2 babies to take care of. I'm sure your wife would want you to be happy again.

I wouldn't normally comment about a person's personal business, but I'll make an exception. It's a great thing that you split the land and properties to ensure the grandparents are safe and secure. But if your girls are to be the beneficiaries of the remaining property it is best to control that yourself until they are of adult age. Relationships change, you might regret giving the Thai family a say over the girl's property. Think about that.

Edi wouldn’t want you to be alone. All I will say is go slow, you have not only yourself but also the twins.That would be my biggest worry is you will jump into somtething because you are lonely. As the twins get older you need to get out with them but for now you need to get out and make friends. Having to live in a lover's house without him being there We, outsiders, only see video clips and look at only one side. But sometimes your eyes are too sad. My friend passed away a month or so ago after a battle with terminal cancer and she stressed that everyone must be happy for her husband when he meets someone after she passes . Find a Thai language teacher. Having private lessons a couple of times a week with homework will change your life. Not only is the structure of that beneficial, but being able to chat with people in your village ie stall holders, shop keepers etc will help lessen your isolation. Being able to converse with Eid's family members, or even just to understand what is being said will enrich your experience of being a member of that family group. You need more than one friend, learning Thai outside your relationship opens you up to friendships with other young people and potential invites to social events. Few people with Thai partners become fluent in the Thai language instead it is more usual that they become dependent on their partner for every social and financial interaction and remain apart from much of Thai life. Get your new friend to help you with your pronunciation and tones, but do lessons as well

Haven't seen any negative comments!! The best part I enjoy about visiting Thailand is chatting and joking with the locals even in a small village. I had the advantage of having a wife who knew little English so I had to learn Thai. I only spent 3 months in the village last time but never lonely. We always ate meals together at night with my wife's family. Had to sit at the table though, never understand how they can eat on the floor. Morning different, use to get up later, but that was hard as very noisy in the mornings.
As I said way back one foot in front of the other and one step at a time and things will get better slowly, its amazing the twist and turns life brings its true that you just never know what tomorrow may bring!. It's also awesome how animals can help you get through things, emotionally as I know exactly what you mean lived it and felt it. I am happy for you that life is getting better after going through such a horrible time, hope to catch up with you and the girls when we move to Thailand, cheers mate you can do it!

Good on you , I for one am really pleased you have another someone in your life , it happened to me 5 months after my wife passed away , I met someone and she was the first person who actually asked questions about what happened and how was I coping , everyone else kind of kept their distance probably for fear of upsetting me , but she just spoke and listened. , a month or so later we had a date and were together for two years after that , unfortunately it never worked out for us , but I still say she saved my sanity , I was working 10 hours per day and also had twin daughters who fortunately were 16 so able to do things for themselves til I got home and made dinner, it’s a horrible situation to be in but you deserve to be happy , don’t listen to the haters. They don’t pay your bills so have no say in your life, do what you need to do for yourself and your daughters , good luck moving forward with your new friend and may it blossom into something more special, you’re on the mend , well done

Stay in Thailand, at least until the twins are due for secondary school education,

I wouldn't normally comment about a person's personal business, but I'll make an exception. It's a great thing that you split the land and properties to ensure the grandparents are safe and secure. But if your girls are to be the beneficiaries of the remaining property it is best to control that yourself until they are of adult age. Relationships change, you might regret giving the Thai family a say over the girl's property. Think about that.

Edi wouldn’t want you to be alone. All I will say is go slow, you have not only yourself but also the twins.That would be my biggest worry is you will jump into somtething because you are lonely. As the twins get older you need to get out with them but for now you need to get out and make friends. You are doing awesome as a dad.The girls are healthy ,happy and very well cared for.I don’t think you will lose ppl ,we watch because of your beautiful heart as a dad. I love how you are with your mom. And you being lonely was her big worry. My friend passed away a month or so ago after a battle with terminal cancer and she stressed that everyone must be happy for her husband when he meets someone after she passes . People who truly love us will always want us to be happy .

Find a Thai language teacher. Having private lessons a couple of times a week with homework will change your life. Not only is the structure of that beneficial, but being able to chat with people in your village ie stall holders, shop keepers etc will help lessen your isolation. Being able to converse with Eid's family members, or even just to understand what is being said will enrich your experience of being a member of that family group. You need more than one friend, learning Thai outside your relationship opens you up to friendships with other young people and potential invites to social events. Few people with Thai partners become fluent in the Thai language instead it is more usual that they become dependent on their partner for every social and financial interaction and remain apart from much of Thai life. Get your new friend to help you with your pronunciation and tones, but do lessons as well

Haven't seen any negative comments!! The best part I enjoy about visiting Thailand is chatting and joking with the locals even in a small village. I had the advantage of having a wife who knew little English so I had to learn Thai. I only spent 3 months in the village last time but never lonely. We always ate meals together at night with my wife's family. Had to sit at the table though, never understand how they can eat on the floor. Morning different, use to get up later, but that was hard as very noisy in the mornings.
As I said way back one foot in front of the other and one step at a time and things will get better slowly, its amazing the twist and turns life brings its true that you just never know what tomorrow may bring!. It's also awesome how animals can help you get through things, emotionally as I know exactly what you mean lived it and felt it. I am happy for you that life is getting better after going through such a horrible time, hope to catch up with you and the girls when we move to Thailand, cheers mate you can do it!
