Most mountain bikers don't ride all the features on this trail

  • The nature features on this #mtb trail are gnarly because they are super awkward and super sketchy. Sadly, the difficulty doesn't translate on camera. It's not even close, so - this will have to be a trust me bro situation. Earth did us a good one here....as well as the folks who blazed it.#mountainbike #slantedground
    Slanted Ground is about the love for the sport. It's not about what we do on the trail. It's about what we've done on the trail and what that does for us. PASSION - PROGRESS - POTENTIAL.

    Location: Not all land managers want increased traffic on their trail systems as a result of RUclips promotion. Doing some research before selfishly publishing this video, I get that's the case here. For that reason, I'm leaving the system and trails unnamed. If you are local, you can easily find it with some online investigation. If you aren't local, it doesn't matter all that much anyway.
    Thanks for watching and please do like and subscribe. It means a lot to me!

    Bong has to be one of my favorite trails at Michaux. Good riding dude, you're right, video will never do any of it justice😂

    Great video and riding as always! That's such a great trail. Only rode it once and wouldn't mind getting back there soon. So many trails, so little time!!

    I would love to hit Michaux with you Josh, you make these trails look easy. Love the commentary and advice throughout. I might have to steal that belt mount idea ;)

      Thanks for checking out the vid Sage! What I like about the belt is I can wear it around my waist when I'm not using it - it's not another thing I need to squeeze in the booty bag. Another added benefit, I used it last year to apply pressure until I got the the emergency room.

    I’ve been riding that area for about 10 years and still haven’t riding that section of bong. I take the left before the wooden bridge lol. I’ve never seen anyone riding nor do I know anyone that has. Great video!

      Left at the bridge is the smarter way to go for sure haha. Thanks for checking out the vid and for your comment!

    The best tech in this region of the forest. We rode these two last fall and were certainly not worthy of most of the features. Still fun to ride though!

      A gem for sure! The complexity doesn't translate well on POV, but that's the beauty of it I suppose.

    how do you like TRP trail brakes? compared to your previous brakes.

    • @slantedground
      @slantedground  Месяц назад +1

      First off - thanks for watching! I've ridden various mid to high end SRAM and Shimano brakes and I prefer the feel of TRP. The Trail brakes are great most of the time. However, if you're riding real steep terrain, the front brake is underpowered (I'm 170 lbs, bike is 35ish). The back will always lock up when needed, but the front won't stop ya even with a 220 rotor. They don't claim to be DH brakes so no fault there. For that reason, I have the DH-R EVO brakes in a box waiting for me to put on. Great question. Thanks so much!

      @@slantedground thanks, much appreciated. I have TRP trail on order. Ive been using XT lever with zee caliper, no issue with them, plenty of power for me. Do you think TRP trail as powerfull as XT?
