  • ON-THE-GROUND TORNADO TOWN DESTRUCTION | FIRST-HAND ACCOUNT | KENTUCKY
One minute, I was working on my usual RUclips 'The Antique Nomad' vlog; the next minute, I was hiding in a basement as the world record breaking December 10, 2021 tornado ripped through our town of Dawson Springs, Kentucky.
After a night spent wandering through debris to reunite with family, daylight shows us the true horror of what happened here. Come along with me real time as I assess our neighborhood and the old downtown en route to where my friends/family are picking up the pieces in their flattened neighborhood.
We have only a short time to try to retrieve the remaining keepsakes and belongings in granddad's severely damaged home, while stunned community members skirt downed power lines, dangerous debris and destroyed homes, cars and businesses in search of surviving people and objects.
We give eyewitness account to the devastation at hand, in.hopes that people outside Dawson Springs do not forget the plight of the people there whose lives have suddenly been torn asunder.
More video footage will come shortly as we work through the emerging drama that is the aftermath of the longest tornado line ever measured.

It took me awhile to be able to watch this. We went through the EF4 that hit Dayton, OH Memorial Day 2019. It was so difficult to see out of town/even out of state people in their vehicles taking pictures and video of our pain…and unfortunately, you never know if people are just curious or casing the place to loot later. I’m so happy to see you and your loved ones are safe. People don’t realize it can take several years to rebuild, yet alone, way more than that to heal. Continued prayers for all those affected! 🙏

George! I’m SO THANKFUL you and your friend are ok!! This happened in our town, just south of Springfield, Ohio, in Xenia, in 1974! Went directly through the center of our town, a mile wide, and an F5, and then resulted a horrible fire a building of the center of town where two Guardsmen lost their lives, as well. In total we lost 35 beautiful souls!
This footage will be priceless in the years to come! It’s amazing the amount of emotion these videos stir up in my midsection! Tears are on the verge, but I know you all are stronger than these devastating losses!! I’m praying for you, and we have help coming your way! God bless you all!

I've never seen your channel until now, I live in earlington ky just up the road from you! This has been a absolutely devastating to our community but last night my wife and kids went to volunteer to help unload trucks for supplies coming in. What we saw was incredible, toys for kids in massive amounts. Supplies for as far as we could see! It has been very touching to see how much help is coming in and that was only a small percentage. Thank you to everyone donating it means more than you all know! ❤️

George, I've looked on Google maps at some of the streets you mentioned, and whilst we can clearly see the devastation in your video, looking at the maps and your video side by side is absolutely heart breaking. I felt so sad for Xeno's granddad when he was walking back up to his house. His heart must be broken. Not just for his house, but his whole town, that he has known all his life. I'm so sad for you all. :(
PS You were very generous about the looters on one of your first 'lives' that you did, but I couldn't be so kind. You are all in the same boat, so for them to steal possessions from someone else, I find desperately sad.

Glad you are informing folks that the tornado damaged other areas. Seems the media focused on a couple of towns; but others are thought to be unaffected. This tornado was on the ground for a very long time!

Wow! I'm so glad Xeno's grandfather is well and he and Xeno's family made it through okay. While the house is still standing, it seems like a horrific amount of damage. I was disgusted to hear about the looters. Continued prayers for you all.

You and your are loved,,,the connections that Spode cup I bought form you for my sister for the missing piece of my grandma's wedding china for her....then finding you here and remembering and then all your sharing before I can buy much..and the whole sweet tribe here that way...I pray I can share with you more of story and pieces of it with others but the whole thing brings that ribbon of connection so desperately needed to my chosen home area and so many other areas of interest across country...I live mostly out of the tornado alley but we did have a weird one on a Father's day last decade that destroyed our Billing's Metra and brought hail like tennis ball to golf balls to mountain towns across the miles wake that I got to have in Gin and Tonics with both parents a year later before mom was gone...I am so glad your business was spared and the love and kindness you spread in business and connections...thank you for making things real and big prayers for you and yours and your area and all people there suffering.

Breaks my heart to see this. My dad was born & raised in Dawson Springs. We spent our summer vacations there. Always wanted to go back but everything I would recognize from those trips is now gone. My thoughts & prayers are with you all.
