I always enjoy your videos as your narration is honest and at times amusing. The small bowtie on the drawer adds a small distinction to a very nicely made cabinet. Maybe make that bowtie a small logo for the furniture you make for your workshop. It could become a personal growth symbol to reflect upon as you progress in furniture making. Good job :}
Thank you for the kind words! I personally prefer to finish a project without a bowtie but yeah, thank you for the idea, too:) It's always nice to have this type of feedback.
@@rollingstone3017 Hi! I bought mine at a store in Japan when I visited there. A jointer plane is called 長台(nagadai) or 長台鉋(nagadai kanna)and you can check a store called "Yamasuke Kurashigetools". They are the known big store that ships to the US for like $50 and no tax on an item(not sure but most likely since it's an international purchase). For 65mm-70mm, decent ones (new) start from around 150$ in general and they need adjustments to use.
@@YRTiIt would be great if you could make a video showing how you set up a new Japanese plane, the way you like to get it feeling right. 😊 Just a friendly suggestion.
Hey, I'm still learning Kanna and there are many unsure things so I don't think I feel comfortable to make such a video yet. Well, I had similar request today and yeah, I've had the requests in the past, too so I made this page today (www.yrti.net/kanna-experience/) . It's not about the Kanna set up but I hope it may help people to buy their first Kanna...
Your projects are amazing and unique, I have already watched several videos on your channel and I really like what you do. Your hand tools are amazing, I want to throw away all my power tools and work like you. I wish you good luck in developing your channel and successful projects.
You can always start hand tool woodworking! I only had a few tools when I started and more importantly, I can take care of your power tools, too, haha:) Joking aside, thank you for watching my videos and giving me a comment!
Thank you, Mos. Yeah, I had 2 tools broken so I can blame upto 2 things! Well, the thread of 304 SS rod was worn out just to remove it from the nut that was stuck and I had to order another one.
That's a really lovely piece, well done. I really enjoy the video and i look forward to more! Also, everything takes me three times as long as i think so don't worry about that!
Aprecio muito seus vídeos e fico feliz por tê-los de volta. Agora com a possibilidade da dublagem automática está melhor ainda, pois gosto de assistir na televisão enquanto me alimento. Mais um ótimo vídeo, continue assim! Obrigado.
I love this cabinet and the bowtie is actually very nice. It is sort of like a signature and could be something you include on all projects. I also like the edge banding, but have never done it. Im a new hand tool woodworker. I will check for videos that explain how to make the edge banding, as my next project will involve the creation of drawers.
Thank you for the positive comment! For the edge banding, Japanese kebiki marking gauge works pretty good to me as you can deepen the marking lines like almost 1/8" deep. When I didn't have the plane, I marked the thickness of the band from the sides of the drawer and the multiple lines like every 1/8" of the band width from the front face and slice it with a wide chisel. you can have kind of the idea from my old video:ruclips.net/video/uWmv-RihIVM/видео.html
Thank you so much. I wouldn't even think about it without your advice especially as I work at a small place. I will need some creativity to achieve it but I will definitely try it.
Mainly I bought them when I visited Japan last summer. I also contacted some local tool stores in Japan by phone and some stores personally arranged an international shipping though I took the risk of the shipping damage. I've never used it yet but I've heard Kurashige Tools is decent that they do international shipping by default.

Thank you, my friend! I'm happy to hear "you love all the details" as nothing went easy and I spent a good amount of time on every thing!
No apologies needed. Always grateful for you putting the time to making these videos!
Thank you for the kind words as always! It makes me feel I need to upload more videos, haha:)

Wow. That looks very good. I feel you should be proud of what you have accomplished.
Thank you so much! A little by little but surely I can feel the improvement. Though, I want to improve my skills much more!

It's always a pleasure to watch you work! Thanks for the video.
Thank you! I’m happy to hear that😎
You show lots of insight and understanding of working with hand tools. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, my friend! I share the information based on what I find so maybe it's wrong at the end of the day but I just hope it helps someone someday!
@@YRTi Might I ask where you got your jointer plane? I can't find it on Amazon.

Beautiful cabinet and workmanship! Drawer front edge banding is an elegant detail.
Thank you! I'm glad to hear that as it's my favorite thing:)

I got excited when I saw you had a new video :) Cabinet looks great, brother.
Thank you! I hope to upload more videos in this year!
Nice job mate. Well worth the wait.
Thank you for the comment and it's nice to see you again, my friend!
You're too talented 😤
Thank you! haha, I just spent doubled or tripled the time to cover up the luck of talent in me:)
viva la hand tools! death to epoxy tables..... great work here!
Thank you! haha, I don't hate it but I'm not planning to make one:)
Looks really good! I like the contrast between the Ambrosia maple and cherry wood. Also, the convenience of a broken tool shall never go un-blamed :D

Looks great! Excellent choice of wood and joinery. I'll take some inspiration for this when I make myself a tool cabinet!
Thank you! I recognized your name. Your skill is good, my friend:)

Thank you:)

Thank you for the hard work you put into videos. Suggestion: wider frames when shooting, sometimes watching feels claustraphobic since we are so close

How can I contribute to your work? Would like to donate so you can buy more wood clamps.
Thank you for the kind offer. It's okay, as long as you watch my videos, I'm so happy:)
