I stumbled on a Fender Deluxe amp in a music store the other day and I found it very pleasant to my ears. So I googled it and hit your channel. Your playing is so tasteful man!
Excellent review. Excellent playing. Excellent amplifier. Had a '09 Fender American Standard Strat (SSS), '06 Gibson Les Paul '56 Goldtop VOS (P90s) that sounded excellent through the 2010 BDRI that I had. Had to let them go. My classical guitar sounded good through it too. Both the stock speaker (not Jenson) and a Celestion Gold sounded good through the BDRI. I had three FX pedals 1. Fulltone Full Drive MOSFET 2. Boss EQ 3. L.R. Baggs Paracoustic DI (for classical) Wanted to try out some Reverb pedals but never got around to it. The BDRI is an excellent compromise amplifier out of the box with tons of mods and hacks to be found across the internet. If you're primarily into clean tones and want some versatile with pedals to find your sound, it's really not a bad choice at all. An excellent choice for those thinning out their amp collection, and want to simplify. For the record, I am also a fan of the Fender '65 Princeton Reverb, Supro Delta King 12 (1x6l6), Supro Delta King 10 (1x6v6), Fishman Loudbox Artist and Roland JC-120, and a modified 60s Console stereo (2xEL84) power section.... and one rare amp that has a unique sound to it. Would be nice if they could produce an FX pedal that models that specific sound. Conclusion, imho, what I think would be the best and perfect amp does not exist to my knowledge. But if it did, it would be a recording studio hybrid of the best vintage circuits in a U Rack mount chassis to save space and consist of both tube and solid state preamps and power amp sections that are separated from each other, with a universal interface that allows for inter-circuit connectivity that can help the artist and sound engineer find the best possible sound. The size of this imaginary 19inch rack is as big as the imagination. The ever elusive golden tone is what it is. When you have arrived at that point when you stop searching for happiness, you"ll find it. Just like when you find your lost keys.
I came to the same conclusion for myself. I have a vintage Super Reverb and Blues Deluxe as my absolute favorite amps for the Strat. I put a Jensen P12Q in the Blues Deluxe (Fender has done this in certain FSR models and the speaker can handle 40 watts). That reduced the volume 6dbl and makes it sound a little closer to a tweed amp.
Dude! Thank you so much for making this video. My mother used to play this amp and she gave it to my when I was very young. Since than I love it. When I started to play more professionally I put a greenback in and I have heard nothing coming close to this combination it just sounds soo fantastic (at least right before the speaker blew up because I was stupid enough to put a 25 watt speaker in this monster). Also no amp takes pedals so nicely. But in my head there was always a voice saying dude, this is a cheap amp, dude you need something boutique. Now I just saw a guy on Craigslist selling this amp already equipped with an celestion Creamback G12H (the best sounding speaker IMO) for just 600,- bugs and I immediately thought let’s go stereo with these amps, how cool would that sound and look. But than again this voice in my head combined with all the daily victory, milkman and vintage fender boutique amp videos made me almost buy a new overpriced amp and I was on the verge of forgetting my plan. So thanks for reminding me that sound is subjective and mainly in your fingers and that what sounds good to your ear and how you feel the response of an amp is truly individual for everyone 🙏🤟🎸
I’ve watched this video before but I love your playing wish you had albums I could listen to it’s the little things that you do as a guitar player I can tell especially your finger style guitar playing and chords selection I can tell you’re well trained musician I hope you’re at least doing studio work I really appreciate your playing your are reaching people and there’s a bunch of musicians to us you matter don’t quit your channel just play more you’re awesome!
I had one of those amps 30 years ago but didn’t let myself like it for stupid snobby reasons but it was the best amp I ever had. I got a blonde hot rod deluxe 20 years later hoping it had the vibe but it didn’t. Now I’m Kemper only as much to stop with gear jumping & just be present to the sound I make. This video was a year ago I wonder where you are today - this was a cathartic video for you I think -
I clicked on this channel because I recently bought a Fender blues deluxe and while listening to you rant about getting rid of gear and then you finally started playing and you’re an amazing guitarist so I subscribed to your channel my friend a little bit of criticism always play first once people hear how awesome you play they’ll listen to anything you want to say! As a guitarist over 50 years you are the real deal your playing sounds amazing!
That's a good idea, review all your pedals through those Fender amps. Start off on your own and then get a pal to jam with. Good to see a Man who has realised that "Keeping your equioment simple" will keep you playing more . Share your knowledge , communication is the most important thing we can do. Thanks for the "Siincerity"!
Follow up on your final thoughts you can do what all those other RUclips nerds reviewing products you can do what they can your an amazing player those guys can’t really play JUST PLAY YOUR OWN MUSIC YOUR FANTASTIC!

Question: Are you playing both amps parallel - or why do you have two of them?

Beautiful playing and sound.
Raw Fender tone ! Sounds so great !
Great review! Young Mark Knofler!!
And it's not just a Strat amp. I'm more often playing a Les Paul over it and it matches perfectly too.

The solo sounded a bit like a clean sounding version of Michael Jackson’s dirty Diana
Hi Steffen. Did you change the speaker or tubes on these Blues Deluxe amps? Or are they all original?
Original!
What year are these amps?
@@bwilliz1111 just a few years old
Suggestion getting the Mike Stern sound on a GT1000?
Hi Steffen nice to hear! Also great with the Mike Stern guitars/humbuckers? And what settings do you use on the amper?
Amps
Bass on 8
Middle on 5
Treble on 4
Presence on 9
Hi Steffen are These the settings you use for the Stern Type humbucker guitars? Or your strats?
I am actually looking for a ‘modern’ Alternative for my g100/g50. Is the blues Deluxe the way to go you think?
Are you also selling off your Yamaha amps?
Man, I think you’ll regret selling all the Yamahas. Keep your favorite and maybe pair it with a Fender for a different feel.
That’s a nice strat guitar. Which model and what color is that?
Fender stratocaster ultra RHW
How heavy is the fender blues deluxe?
45lbs
