Let's be honest getting games or anything from app or online isnt the same excitement feeling as buying from the store, good ol days.
Remember going into blockbuster and renting games as a kid? Haha
It's much better if the store in question is Gamestop. I still remember the absolute insult that they offered me less than $4 for 3 games they were selling AT MINIMUM for $15 each just a few feet away. Even as a middle school kid, I knew what robbery was.
It just sucks that store has to be GameStop because they are such a shit company.

Stolen? You're mistaken. Besides the fact that the sentence "The Rise and Fall" is a common phrase in normal conversations for stocks, I checked out Company Man's channel. The first time he used the title "The Rise and Fall" was on his Vans video, two years ago on May 2, 2018. CNBC has several videos with the title "The Rise and Fall" such as the Toys R Us video on Jan 24, 2018. Trying to claim that the title is stolen is as ridiculous as the Fine Bros trying to copyright the word "React".

My parents try to trade in a few games got like $3 off of it and I told them never ever ever ever trade in any games ever again to GameStop you don't get much and keeping them is a lot more worthwhile

I traded my launch ps4 back to them for $200 when the ps4 pro initially dropped. Only made the upgrade to the pro cost $220 out of pocket. Felt like that was a solid trade in my favor.

I had a Gamestop one block away from my house. Me and my two friends used to go their and hang out all the time and the clerks even let us play games and help. That was until one of my ahole friends stole a game... After that they made a no loitering policy.
You're the guy? Sweet. I think Gamestop did used to have a lot of loitering but they thought it was good for business.
They DID always rip us off though, I mean it was almost expected every time tbh.
They can sell on Amazon and make make they're own website
Their in-store DLC was the best deal. You could buy and install it before returning it or exchanging it, which made it effectively free.
Imagine investing 10000 shares @ $3.18 in 2020, you would still be a millionaire now. (March 2021)
Online and digital copy of games really torn GameStop apart. Hope they can really turnaround as I would love prefer physical copies and interaction with the stuff there.

Gamestop has for far too long relied on buying used games at way less than their actual waorth and then selling those used games at a way more than street price. If they want to keep the physical games sales going they need to pay attention to what Mom and pop stores are doing.
- Don't insult your customers by offering very little for used games that have held value or are actually worth more
- treat your customers with respect, treat your employees with respect and try to retain employees that your customers trust and are actually knowledgeable about your product
- have an area for customers to congregate, sell snacks and setup demo units
- stop putting your stores in malls with limited space so your stores can hold more inventory and cater to customers that want to browse your library and socialize. Make your storte a lace they want to hangout and spend money. Like comic and hobby stores.
- create online groups where customers can meetup and chat while playing games at home. Like they are already doing with things like Discord.
- Look into adult spaces like Barcades that you could attach to your stores. The adult gamer is a very large and under targeted audience. Video games have been around fir 59 years now. It isn't just kids and teenagers.
- Physical game ownship is still a thing. Maybe carry less new stock of the latest and greatest and do some market research about what games people by physical copies of to collect. And that sure ain't Sports games with their yearly releases and lack luster updates. anything with a yearly release should be treated as a cancer in your store you only bring in for those that request of preorder.
- Mobil games are popular but they represent an audience that is NOT the same as the console and PC audience. Don't focus on it as part of the gamestop brand unless its hardware for phones like gamepads or battery packs.

Get Steam it’s great and it’s free. You can buy games that are cheap and Steam sales happen.

It is now March 29th, 2021, and GME stock is still sitting at a cool $181. The Pokemon Company International has partnered up with GameStop in the US to release a promotional "Flapple" Pokemon TCG card. An EB Games stamped "Flapple" was released in Canada as well. Also, GameStop has announced that it'll start to sell PC graphics cards and other computer peripherals. More to come, I'm sure. GME stock is still 10 TIMES what it was just 4 months ago.

One of the best stores for games. GameStop is a survivor that blockbuster, Hollywood video, and Game Crazy couldn’t be. Don’t sell my stuff there but I do preorder my games and also figures.

Funcoland was the shit but when I lived in New York in bushwick we had a game store on Knickerbocker avenue and I used to go there a lot after the video store closed across the street from my crib Funcoland used to be in Manhattan Mall and that's when I used to get the exclusive games that I couldn't get in my regular neighborhood

Its hard to see how disc drives can improve.
It peaked with the ps4/xbox one.
I stuffed my new laptop with a 1.8 tb (2tb) so its now 2.2 tb with the 480 gb (512gb)

Once I was at gamestop and they had that one game in a used and a new version......guess which one was the more expensive one......no really the used one costs more than the new one....

I could be wrong, but I don't really see a future for GameStop online. Epic already throws a billion dollars a year propping up its own online game store, desperately trying to claw market share away from Steam and it is failing. I don't really see what GameStop could do against Steam that Epic can't. Steam has the whole gaming exosystem and holds everyone's game libraries, so getting people to switch is going to be nearly impossible.
Doesn't help that Gamestop trade-ins were a big middle finger. They only gave you a few dollars for a trade in.

Gamestop relies on the customers products to resell, when those customers switch to digital they will have fewer stock which will lead fewer deals then fewer customers

Ya I payed around 900 for my ps5 bc they only offered bundles to make more off or us. They pre picked the game with it and color controller and when I said something about it they said sorry we can’t do anything. After that I haven’t went there
