@Connor Ward - the lawn looks awesome! btw, have you ever done voice-overs for owen wilson? theres no doubt you would have crushed him as hansel in the zoolander movies! when i close my eyes, i can't tell if it's you or him cutting your yard... i also cant see the ditches by the shed...
I fell in love with growing grass after watching Lawn Tips, Ryan Knorr and Lawn Rebel. Not necessarily in this order. Love you all guys and thank you for sharing your knowledge with others.
I Agree! This is why I watch your channel Conner. Nice job! Your hard work is an inspiration to a lot of us lawn nerds. Your lawn was the first time I said “wow” to a RUclipss grass channel. And then you turned me onto thelawnforum. I’ve been living the dream ever since. Thank you!
Enjoy the good parts of your lawn and embrace the challenges it brings…the negative comments usually is just jealousy…lawn looks great from what I can see
First Aussie 😁. Everything is coming along nicely, you’re an inspiration to us all, your stubbornness and perseverance to get the job done right is amazing. Great work Moustache Wearing Mountain Man from Utah. 😎👍👍
Do you put first Aussie in every lawn video? As a Australian it makes me cringe. It's like mega attention seeking. Like look at me I'm Aussie and I watch your videos. You better acknowledge me.
Lawn looks great Connor! I have been watching and following along for several years now while I work on my own lawn. This video, starting at @8:19 is the most honest self reflection and “a look back” that I’ve ever seen from you. It had a very genuine feel. I can tell you have put a lot of heart into your lawn and videos and sharing your world with us. Thanks again!
This video is so good! Love the discussion about what might not have worked as well/easily as well as what worked. Last year I did a big sand leveling, this year a big kbg overseeding kbg in Fall, and planning a big sand leveling next year-you do what you can each year and hope the next year looks a little better. Inspiring to watch your honest journey and gain advice. Cheers!
I just bought a house and have been forced to learn about lawn care, glad I found your channel man I’m hungry for the wealth of knowledge you’re gifting to the world. The videos are very entertaining and funny as well, thanks guy!!
Thank you Conner for having and sharing your love to a nice and beautiful garden and lawn! I liked the open view more than this house across the street aaand...yours looks far better! Lawn looks fantastic compared to some weeks ago. Gotta get some sawdust for reseeding patches! Seems to work perfect
Been following since pre-youtube on the lawncareforum. Loved a reply you gave to me early on about how important it is to have a base of KBG (for spreading and self repairing characteristics) followed by overseeding of perennial rye in subsequent years for beauty. That approach has served me well, so what you're suggesting here is consistent with what you've been doing and recommending for a long time. Does that mean I subscribe to every approach taken? No, but I think that's the draw of lawn care as a hobby, we're all the CEO of our own yard! That's why it seems fair to say this isn't a 'how to' channel, but more, 'here's a peek at what I'm doing in my yard, take it or leave it for what you do in yours'. I appreciate the time and effort from you and others that goes into giving us that peek!
The lawn looks great don't let anyone tell you it doesn't! We all have imperfections and I'm glad you show the good and point out the things that bother you
The issue with RUclips is that you condensed in to a wonderful 18 min video HOURS and HOURS and HOURS of work! We see glimpses of the work that goes into it, but we do not see everything. Thanks for the honesty about how long it takes to get here and reminding us that it does not happen over night. It is inspiring!
Probably the best episode you've ever released. Thank you for being amazing, and honest not only with yourself but with all of us! Keep up the good work man. You are not cheating. I know people with TERRIBLE rye grass.
To hell with all the naysayers. Your landscape, lawn, and house are everyone of your subscriber’s dream. Keep making videos, we’d be sad if you stopped. Your videos motivate us to make our yards beautiful, too. Up until this year I’ve only wanted a low maintenance landscape. Now we’ve got color popping in the front and back. It’s a lot of work but well worth it. You’re awesome, man. We appreciate you.
Connor lawn looks awesome! do it for your happiness people on the internet will never be pleased you could Photoshop in Augusta National grass and people would still nitpick
ok, now tell us how you really feel 😃 anyway, it has now been years ago, and this channel randomly came up on my feed; and without hardly any yard work beyond a occasional mow on my very sad looking grass full of weeds and dirt spots, I said "wow, I like that, I think I'm going to try it" surprisingly the KBG worked in one section of my property that wasn't doing well, and has since been made over a few times with the other areas trying and finding what seed varieties worked in them too ...but this is where I got motivated and started, thanks, and I hope it never ends and we all keep pushing a little further every year
Yo mate the lawn looks great. Go the sissy grass. Good explanation on making the change. I have been watching for years and didn’t remember you killed the grass off!
You’re the Man Connor! I was the guy who cut my grass when needed, didn’t care if it was so low it burnt it up. But after coming across your channel I’m mowing twice a week, edging where needed and throwing it down. Going into my second season and my lawn looks great. Still needs some work but it’s getting there. I purchased a used Lawnaire aerator and can’t wait use it this fall. Keep doing what you do, you’ve motivated me to take those extra steps to lawn awesomeness!!!!
I LOVE THIS VIDEO! You are SO Right, people think just cutting their grass is the do all for lawn care. I first have to trim ALL the edges with the trimmer, then edge with the edger, then use the blower to blow all of the trimming and grass clippings onto the lawn.then I’ll bring out the lawn tractor and the walk behind. And this is done EVERY Tuesday and repeated every Friday, because Saturdays are for maintenance in my Vegetable garden and any weeding in the landscape. 🥵And I STILL need to repair my lawn. It ain’t easy. You have to be fully committed to making and keeping a good looking lawn.
Never watched your videos before, but i absolutely loved when you said that you do this for you. Everytime people ask me why i am keeping so busy in my yard i always say because i like to do it
I appreciate you showing the areas of the lawn that need work. Let's those of us without perfect lawns actually learn something and see the transformation in action!
There are 3 channels I look forward to seeing. Pete Denny GCI, Ryan Knorr and YOU. Your approach to teaching as well as admitting your short comings are the main reason. I have told numerous people about you and they have since subscribed. Keep it up and I’ll see you in the next one.
Connor, Take the good with the bad. You have given the lawn care community much so keep your head up! Your lawn looks better than the majority of lawns in the USA!
I love how when people are looking at you ‘Looky Loo’ that you point the camera right at them 😂🤣. The lawn looks amazing. Love the mixture of KBG and RG. 👌🏼🙌🏼
Lawn looks great and that’s surely the only thing that matters, not what type of grass. Well done. On the neighbours house, they say imitation is the greatest form of flattery. I actually am on the side of houses looking SIMILAR improves the look of a neighbourhood. Planning law in UK often enforces that houses are made to look similar. Don’t know what relations are like with the neighbours but a conversation where they acknowledge that they like your house and modelled their own after it could have gone a long way.
Connor, you are awesome! If your lawn had no problems we, the audience, could learn nothing. We learn when you make mistakes and we learn when you correct mistakes. We learn when you discuss changes you want to make. Imperfection is the engine that gives us the opportunity to learn. Soon, though, your lawn will be so awesome that there will be little opportunity to learn. Then I think you need to take over someone else's lawn and start fixing THEIR problems! :-) Thanks for taking the time to teach us!
You're one of my favs dude. Not a lot of useless talking or pushing crap to buy. If you're ever in Texas I will invite you over for a cold one or some bourbon. Lawns looks freakin awesome too.
Lawn is looking mint! You inspired me to renovate my backyard grass last fall (from a patchy mix to all midnight KGB) and it’s as close to perfect as I can get it. Thank you for all the effort you put into your videos. I truly believe it inspires people to be proud of what they own and take care of their property. Keep up the great work!
I've watched almost all of your videos, most of them more than once over the past two years. This is one of the best ones I've seen so far. Keep it up man!
I may be a 17 year old kid but I love this stuff as much as you. Great lawn. Love the videos and I love your personality. Keep making these because I love these videos
You are the man! Forget the haters! I subscribe to multiple "lawn care" channels, but I relate most to yours. I'm just a regular guy trying to grow a great lawn.
Lawn looks amazing sir!!! I also love getting comments from folks walking by admiring the lawn. Makes me feel great knowing my hard work is getting noticed :)
I have loved watching your channel over the last few years. Credit to you, since watching I’ve renovated my lawn (sand this fall?), found a love for dahlias, and just finished a paver patio. Thank you for all the not-how-to videos, and please keep them coming.
Lawn looks amazing! Got a cheap used mclane, my bermuda has a mix of two different sods, didn't realize it when I bought it, I mow in the evening, water in the evening. I have thrown down some bermuda seed from big box. In other words I do everything "wrong" my lawn looks great in my families eyes and the kids love it. I even throw a pop up pool for the kids right in the middle and have amazing lawn with a yellow circle right in the middle. Keep doing what you doing and forgot the negative comments.
Great video Connor. This is a topic I’ve been hoping to hear about for awhile. When you killed off the lawn you kind of surrounded it in a air of mystery. To finally get an honest commentary about it and the aftermath was really satisfying. I love all your videos but really appreciate how honest you are which really comes through in this one. Lawn looks great btw.
You are so awesome. I love watching your videos. I’m going to do what you said and throw in some perennial rye and top dress my lawn. I love that you show the spots where it hasn’t gone well, especially when you took the time to go back through, find the same spots from past videos and show what has changed. Very cool!
Hey Connor, best video of 2021 for sure! Real talk! You Tube is luckily to have you on there. We are all fortunate to take this lawn journey with you. For freakin free I might add! Don’t worry about those keyboard warriors. They don’t know sh!t about your lawn! You do it your way and is true fans will be watching. You are totally yourself and that’s my favourite part about your channel. Life it to short to worry about negativity. Your passion drives me to kick some series butt on my lawn. I’m three years in and like you, so many renovations completed but so many to go. Just pulled the trigger on a dethatcher because of your vids. You are the only creator that I have notifications setup for and I can’t wait for each video to come out. It’s the best part of my week! Thanks for reading my comment and I’ll seeeeee ya in the next one!
Preach on brother! Your house looks great regardless if there are copycatters out there. One up them and put some nice darker colored shutters on your house around the windows. That would look fantastic and give your lawn that extra pop you are always talking about. Thanks for your content, your grass looks great!
Connor your lawn is looking awesome.. one thing is for sure, you certainly put in a lot of time around your property and it shows.. Flowers, paving, SHE Shed and everything else you do.. love the videos.. keep them coming
You inspired me to start my lawn renovation a year ago with bluegrass in NC. Keep doing whatever you need to do, it's your lawn. The practices are more important than the type of turf in my opinion.
Update I live in central NC, it started great and was going fine but I neglected it due to my son being born. I actually am going to transition into a fine fescue, I just did not have enough sun light for it to really thrive.
I could feel the passion in this video. Thanks for sharing your lawn journey with us Connor, it's because of you that I got into reel mowing and now keep my zoysia at 0.6" :-)
it is one of the best and most entertaining channels on this subject ... strange when you do not upload videos in a long time ... I hope you upload videos as long or longer than this one.
Connor - you are doing a great job! I strive to have half as great a lawn as you! I appreciate your sharing and inspiring others to do great lawn work!
Never commented before but you convinced me. Great work. My wife and I really like watching the videos and love the way you guys take care of the property! Grass is coming back nicely and it's good to see the struggles toward the goal.
I love your content. You always entertain me and I think people learn not only from the success of their favorite lawn tubers but also when things don't go quite as planned. I appreciate you and keep up the good work!!
Looks great Connor Thanks for the insight into your overseed with PRG decision. I was scratching my head a bit knowing you had a monostand but it makes a lot of sense. Good to know before tackling a renovation of my own. Keep it up!
CW looking amazing. As hard as it is ignore the negative comments you keep doing you. If they can do it better let them do it. I watch your videos because your property is friggin amazing
One of your best videos to date. Love the passion! Last fall I over seeded my Bermuda back lawn with perennial rye and it looked amazing and it was simple to do. Over-seed, water and cut. Keep making videos Connor.
Lol, this is why I gave up RUclips in 2012. There is already a person doing and saying all the things I'm thinking. I was in the lawn yesterday pulling weeds and was being watched by some parents waiting for their kids to get dropped off by the bus and all I was thinking was, "they are talking about why I'm always out here picking weeds but idgaf." I used to go inside if there were people that would see me analyzing my lawn but now I'm out there just meticulously working on it. IDC what they're thinking but at the same time I love that even people who don't care about grass say "nice lawn." It 👏makes👏me👏feel👏good👏
I’m so glad you like doing this because I love watching you do it. I’ve been watching you channel for well over a year and I “need” to know the story of the pink flamingos please. Even if it’s a 30 second clip. As soon as w know, I might go buy some for my yard. Thanks Connor.
When they whine that "you killed it", the rest of us know YOU'VE BEEN KILLIN IT! Looks great man! Happy to see those problem spots getting worked out, lord knows I've got some that keep me up at night.
I saw you putting that SA in there with the word "crabgrass" - I will not forget.
I caught that too.
But do forgive, he knows not what he does.
That's a good one! Lol not crabgrass!!!!
Friendly jab at a compadre... "St Augustine IS NOT crabgrass" Remember the shirt?

Connor your lawn is looking awesome.. one thing is for sure, you certainly put in a lot of time around your property and it shows.. Flowers, paving, SHE Shed and everything else you do.. love the videos.. keep them coming
You inspired me to start my lawn renovation a year ago with bluegrass in NC. Keep doing whatever you need to do, it's your lawn. The practices are more important than the type of turf in my opinion.
What part of NC are you in? which seed did you use? How is it doing now?
How is the bluegrass doing?
Hello there 👋👋 , how are you doing? Hope you’re safe.God bless you!!
The grass looks great. 👌👍
Been following you for a while and you have done a lot for it.
My compliments.
Greetings from the Netherlands👋
Never commented before but you convinced me. Great work. My wife and I really like watching the videos and love the way you guys take care of the property! Grass is coming back nicely and it's good to see the struggles toward the goal.
Yes. I appreciate you. Thank you for taking the time to comment. It makes all the difference for me
Love the lawn and the garden is truly supreme.
Your garden is attracting a lot of new housing to your area.
I love the lawn Corror keep up the great work and keep the videos flowing. Don’t change anything that you’ve been doing.
Connor, this is one of the best videos you have made. Bravo.
Hello there 👋👋 , how are you doing? Hope you’re safe.God bless you!
After a shitty day I can always count on your videos to pick me up. Thank you for being such a great dude.
I love your content. You always entertain me and I think people learn not only from the success of their favorite lawn tubers but also when things don't go quite as planned. I appreciate you and keep up the good work!!
Looks great Connor
Thanks for the insight into your overseed with PRG decision.
Thank you Tom
Lol, this is why I gave up RUclips in 2012. There is already a person doing and saying all the things I'm thinking. I was in the lawn yesterday pulling weeds and was being watched by some parents waiting for their kids to get dropped off by the bus and all I was thinking was, "they are talking about why I'm always out here picking weeds but idgaf."
I used to go inside if there were people that would see me analyzing my lawn but now I'm out there just meticulously working on it. IDC what they're thinking but at the same time I love that even people who don't care about grass say "nice lawn." It 👏makes👏me👏feel👏good👏
Your edges are amazing. I've been doing them for 2 years like you and I get lots of compliments.
Yeah they are worth the effort. About one time per year you have to touch them up
Your lawn is always awesome, just like your videos.
Connor, you always inspire me to make mine look better and improve what I have.
10 out of 10, Connor.
Your lawn and YT Channel are "the real deal, folks".
I’m so glad you like doing this because I love watching you do it. I’ve been watching you channel for well over a year and I “need” to know the story of the pink flamingos please. Even if it’s a 30 second clip. As soon as w know, I might go buy some for my yard. Thanks Connor.
Your property is beautiful ❤️ don't worry about the haters just keep doing your thing .
When they whine that "you killed it", the rest of us know YOU'VE BEEN KILLIN IT! Looks great man! Happy to see those problem spots getting worked out, lord knows I've got some that keep me up at night.
I like your grass. I think it looks legit. And I've learned a lot from watching you. Thanks for putting in the work to share your videos.
Hello there 👋👋 , how are you doing? Hope you’re safe.God bless you!!
You're lawn is looking terrific and thanks for bringing us along. The house across the street doesn't even have a lawn, looks like all concrete.
Best wishes from Germany. Watch all of your vids, you are doing a Great Job and its fun Watching you. Thank you Helge
You're one of the reasons I started my MASSIVE overhaul. Nice info and NICE yard!!!
