I’m new to the FPV hobby, but not RC in general. I got a hawk 5 pro, and my brother has a tiny hawk freestyle 2. Eventually we will build but we put a lot of time into sims before our drones arrived. The joy that we get just doing power loops in the yard and going around trees is unmatched by any hobby I’ve been in tact with before. Me and him watch a lot of y’all’s videos for help with things or the stuff like this that’s just a blast to watch. We’re slowly getting better but I don’t think I’ve ever seen more help/understanding/willing/happy people in another hobby before.

Yeah it actually has more advantages in dives than knife-edges - in knife-edges a normal quad could also get through on its side. But some dives you wouldn't be able to do with a normal quad.
You guys never cease to entertain and innovate. Very impressive as usual! My favorite so far is still Turbo Qwad! The ultimate race drone? The way you guys react in that video is priceless!!
Put some carbon wings on the sides - angled 45deg or something - and you'll have some pretty small and resistant VTOL LR craft. Actually, good idea, one more project for my list :D

actually there is another idea to build more "weird drone", what if you make quadcopter motors tilted like cambered car wheels. is it easier to fly acro mode or something else? 😀
First of all you waste thrust when just hovering or cruising and since that's how you spend most of the most time when flying you would sacrifice some efficiency. The same applies for all rotations (roll, pitch, yaw) because the thrust line would not be in a right angle to the axis around which you want to rotate. So no, I don't see any advantage in having motors point in different directions.

Almost all FPV pilots I know had their progress in waves. They started, made some progress, then were stuck for weeks, then suddenly it clicked and they made huge jump in skill. So be patient, it will come.

I have a cheap commercial drone that style. Eachine - came with a little army guy that stands on top and a canopy thing to make it look like a paraglider.
You guys did impressive with the flying stick configuration, as you guys mentioned that it's a bit unstable, I totally agree. Maybe play with the tunes a bit until it's rock solid.
