What about times when your anchored in one spot for multiple tide changes? Does the slide then become a problem if the chain happens to get pulled down along the anchor as the boat swings different directions from the current change with the tide?
Hi mate, the slide won't become an issue as it's very unlikely for the boat to drift bang centre over the anchor. On top of that we have a SS Locking pin designed for overnighters if needed as well. This will turn the anchor into a fixed shaft.

Am a little ashamed to note that I did some further research today and actually ran my anchor winch for 10 sec and measured the length of chain that it released and it was no where near as much chain as I'd been allowing for so the main issue would appear that I didn't have enough chain out which would have made things far worse.
