I love the sway bar on my TRD PRO....since 90% of my driving is on roadways it makes a big difference in lane changes and the twisting curving roads where I live. Since I'm not doing any rad rock crawling or heavy duty off roading other than on firebreaks while working I get enough suspension travel to suit me...think I'll keep it.

I’m glad our suggestion worked out for you Cuz, and we appreciate the shoutout! I’m running the front and rear Trd sway bars, my suspension is stock! I stay on road and put a lot of highway miles. I love how flat it keeps the truck through turns, thanks for the suggestions!

On my previous truck i was running bilstein 6112/5160 combo with both sway bars. It rode good on road but very stiff, especially through low speed bumps. It did handle very good though. On the new truck I'm running TRD Pro suspension with no sway bars. Once you get used to the body roll, its a game changer! Absolutely love how it rides.

When I used my Dewalt impact on my steps I just snug the bolts and finished with a hand ratchet so you do not break bolts. 40 years of tools and pipe wrench experience. Dewalt also makes a impact socket set for that driver.

Good choice no sway is the way to go. Let a truck be a truck.

Bull. The rear sway on non-TRD suspension is flat out amazing.

Should never use regular chrome sockets with a impact gun.Buy impact sockets, chrome ones can and will shatter.

I loved my rear sway bar on road but after putting king shocks on and going Offroad more, I like it better with no sway bars. Yes I removed the front one too, much better ride and it’s not jarring you to death, it’s not a race car. Sway bars are for cars!

Hey how come you didn’t use the impact wrench on the sway bar bushing mounts?! I was just wondering why you’d go to a hand ratchet after experiencing the speed of an impact! Thanks for all the content man!
Also does my 2019 TRD off road come with a factory sway bar? Just not the TRD one? Haven’t looked myself but assumed it did. Thanks again!

Hey man! The tundras come with a stock front sway bar (non trd) but no rear one. Also, im not sure why i went hand ratchet lol

Adding rear air bags may correct the body roll issue also. My 2008 Tundra double cab work truck had rear air bags for weight control and I never noticed body roll. I bought a brand new 2018 TRD 5.7 double cab and noticed body roll immediately..
Quick fix I believe that is adjustable with air pressure. And eliminates rear sag if you are hauling weight and still drove normal when empty.

It comes down to how much off road or towing you do. For a mostly off road weekend truck, easy no sway bar. For mostly road and towing, the sway bars do offer more stability in those applications. Same thing for tires. Buy the right one for the vehicle's intended application.

TundraDude34 can you let me know if you still feel this way? I have the TRD sway bar but not installed yet and have the fox pro suspension. I don't want to install it since it is new and I will get more for it so I was wondering if you are still in the camp to remove or not install. Also, where did you read Toyota does not recommend on the pro?

  • @seandelong3752

I can definitely feel the difference from my 16 with the sway bar versus my 19 pro without. I'd like to have that cornering again but I don't want to loose my great suspension travel! Ride's like a pillow

  • @JUNXRCZ

When you removed it and you mention putting the stock bolts back on, are you referring to the bolts that held the sway bar in at the sides or a different bolt that was there before ? I bought my tundra with the sway bar pre installed and wasn’t sure if I need to buy some bolts to fill those 2 holes if I remove it.

I have a 2016 Tundra Crewmax 4x4 Limited. I do not go extreme off road. Saw your TRD Sway Bar Install video a while back and was sold. Recently I installed a rear TRD rear sway, and I'm extremely happy with it. No more body roll - drives like a dream. No going back for me. Love my Tundra.

Just took my rear sway bar off the 2018 1794 with standard suspension after about 8 months. Drove a 700 mile trip with a full load in the bed...felt every single bump in the road. Makes it very choppy and punishing with any moderate to heavy load. If you drive on bad roads, it’s not a great choice. Mark, which Dewalt model did you buy?

Go with a heavy duty coil over kit to eliminate sway on road while allowing for articulation off road.

  • @SM-eu5xl
    @SM-eu5xl 4 года назад

Well, I put the TRD anti-sway bar on my 17 TRD Pro Tundra after watching your video... because this truck spends 1/4 of its life off road I have noticed it much more harsh in those conditions. I'm gonna take it off and see how it goes.. BTW, which model electric Dewalt impact drill is that? I need one.

Im sorry you feel that way. I dont do anything on this channel for “commission”. If that was the case, i would say yes to all these companies that contact me day after day for me to sponsor their parts and products. The tundra body roll has been around for a long time and is more noticeable in certain trims and cabs then others. Ive driven tundras where it’s extremely evident and tundras where i dont feel much at all.

@@TundraDude34 I have a 2018 TRD Sport Crewmax. Once I took it off, the back end was a bit smoother ride even with 1" shackles (did at the same time). Also added new wheels and 70+ lb e rated tires. I corner just as fast as I did when I got it 😂
I've considered removing the front TRD sway bar as well but I'm torn. I added stiffer coilovers so I'm sure I'd be fine but I do tow every once in awhile.
