Lyrics:
Close my eyes, let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time to waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side
(close my eyes, let the whole thing pass me by)
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride
(asking why)
I think about your face, and how I fall into your eyes
The outline that I trace, around the one that I call mine
A time that called for space, unclear where you drew the line
I don't need to solve this case, and I don't need to look behind
Close my eyes, let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time to waste asking why (asking why)
I'll run away with you by my side (by my side)
I'll run away with you by my side (I'll run away with you)
(close my eyes, let the whole thing pass me by)
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride
(asking why)
Do I expect to change the past I hold inside
With all the words I say repeating over in my mind
Some things you can't erase, no matter how hard you try
An exit to escape is all there is left to find
Close my eyes, let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time to waste asking why (asking why)
I'll run away with you by my side (by my side)
I'll run away with you by my side (I'll run away with you)
(close my eyes, let the whole thing pass me by)
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo in my mind
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo can subside
So I
Close my eyes, let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time to waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side (I'll run away with you)
(close my eyes, let the whole thing pass me by)
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo in my mind
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo can subside

this JUST came up in my recommended... I forgot how good this song is
Came up in my recommandation
Yeah, only clicked because I saw Michelle Trachtenberg. Harriet the Spy got sexy.
Yes ❤❤
Just popped up in my recommended
This is one of those songs that gives you that gut feeling of youth and possibility. Being a 2000’s teen was great. RIP music.
So Right, While I'm A bit older, the 2000's Rock Music Was The last of A lengthy Era of Gr8 Music... RIP 🎶!
Completely agree with you. I went to High School from 1998-2002. These kids today know nothing about good music and what it was to actually hangout with your crew.
@@GreekLibra1984 haha I’m sure they have their own thing these days. Your probably sounding like your parents when they thought that about your gen
What a great way to put it
@@GreekLibra1984 I was 99-2003....My dad use to say the same thing to me about our music, but anybody with ears can clearly tell music has been on decline since about those years.
Almost 20 yrs now, and it still takes me back! Anyone else missin' those 2000s???
EDIT: 20 yrs, my friends! And the memories still remain.
They just don’t make songs/music like this anymore man. Haven’t in a long time. It’s a damn shame.
Don't miss em a bit. What I miss is the good guy, that got away xx
Good times! it reminds me back of 04' during my first year in the Army. Now I'm soon to retire and getting the nostalgia
Everyday man, everyday.
Hell yeah!!!!
Man..this brings me way back.. I was 16..with my first girlfriend... now 35... Makes me wanna cry for some reason.. I miss those days..it went by to fast!
I'm 45. You will miss it more and more as time passes by.
Soft. Reincarnation brother. Eternal Life. The GIFT from the GOD/s. Praise LIFE!
Same homie .. I'm literally 35 thinking about how I laid on my bedroom floor blasting this crying over a breakup 😭❤️
@@jennybfoxxy I think many of us in the comments have been there, or in similar situations. I know I have.
Cry? 😆 Simp
The music video is evocative of growing up in those fun and lovely days which Scottie probably doesn't know about.
Haha..so that is the girl from Eurotrip?
She even did it on his birthday I heard
👏😂
hahahahaha!
Legend states that he still doesn’t know.
This is a dope song and also the dime piece Michelle Trachtenberg you can't go wrong
She'll pass away
Bro, I thought I was tripping; He really is putting his fingers in Harriet The Spy’s mouth.
You mean the penny piece

This is truly one of the most underrated songs ever! This was an era where all genera’s were killing it
I agree! Everything was new and fresh and had its own authenticity
absolutely❤
So true! ALL genres. Music was ALIVE. Not just in itself, but in us. In our hearts.
I feel we've all lost our way.
@@DarrenWilsonOne 💯
you mean like every other era?
Miss this kind of music. I can't get out of the 90s/early 2000s. It was home.
Trapt and Breaking Benjamin are the two bands that I can honestly say that impress me more times than not, that can continue to put out truly amazing music. I love trapt!
Love both and cold
Both of BB and Trapt are two of my favorite bands of all time.
@@mitchellbrown9722 came here to bring up Cold.
Imagine saying you like Trapt....🤣🤣
@@clue73457 why are you here then?
This band helped me get through a really tough phase of my life.
Same.
I wish that these other songs had been given greater attention than just Headstrong. Trapt had so many good songs, especially before 2011, that everyone doesn't even know about.
I know they had other really amazing good songs
This is easily Trapt's best song
📠
We were in such an awesome place, no work, no bills, no stress, the best music available. No doubt we had it so good back then. Take me back.

Saw them perform this live recently. I had completely forgot about this song. It was probably the first time I had heard it in 15 years. The nostalgia was strong...
Liar
I'm seeing them next week... Was the set mostly from this album?
@@drewlazarou9012 Imagine going to a Trapt concert, especially with how much of a POS the singer is 🤣
@@DrownInLysergic yeah, there was literally like 30 people there. I didn't know what he did or said, i just went for the music.
@@DrownInLysergic Is that why you're here ? 😂Imagine having so many psychological issues you stalk a rock group because you don't like the singers political position ? Chris Taylor Brown is an awesome dude. Very chill, very cool. You just don't like the fact he's pro-America, supported Trump, and is heavily against the commie bs we see trying to wreak havoc on our Nation. Which can only suggest you are an anti American commie supporter.
Timeless... Just one of them songs you can hit repeat 1000 times and still not get enough
I agree
Damn! I'm 53 and still this song still echoes in my mind
don't know if thats something i would brag about...

Ah yes, this video and Eurotrip. When all of us went “wait, THAT’S Buffy’s little sister?”
Did not know that!!
I miss my teenage years
Don't we all.
I cant stand the fact of aging. I am 27 now and all i can think of is that time pasts so fast and 1/3 of my Life is already over.
MrUratox lets trade please, being in high school 2018 sucks hot ass, shitty SoundCloud rap, juuls yeezys and snapchat thots, you were the last of your kind bud 😔
@@MrUratox I fucking hate aging, too. Hopefully I have the balls to hang myself and go on my own terms before I get too old and sick. There's also the farfetched chance that aging gets cured in our lifetime...
@@DeathDealerX07 i got thrown back to this video cause someone liked my comment. Another year is over. Happy new year btw. I thought a little more about aging and have to say that nothing would make sense without it. There would be no reason to work hard for a Job or to try carry on because you could do all that later in 500 years if we all were immortal. Still sucks... I think the older you get the more you will get used to it. I will have midlife crisis at my 40th bday for sure xD
This song randomly came up and I instantly smiled. That was such a great era. I'm in the early 2000s mood now. 3 Doors Down next
Almost 3am and I'm down the RUclips rabbit hole of early/ mid 2000 music. Work tomorrow/today will be shit but I can't help it.
3 Doors Down, Puddle Of Mudd, Trapt, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Godsmack, Saliva, Default, Nickelback, Creed, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, Sum 41, Blink-182, Korn, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Kid Rock. Just a few examples from this era.
New found Glory, Mest, weezer, Green Day, Story of Year and other bands ❤
This song will stay in my Playlist forever.
I was a teen when this came out. When I broke up with my boyfriend he told me this would be our song and he'd always love me. I don't miss him, but I miss those teen years. Good times❤
you miss him
Damn dude. This song is 12 years old now. It seems like yesterday I was a kid watching this music video on fuse.
Same here bro
Back when Fuse used to be good and not filled with reality shows and Lil Wayne blocks of shit. All rock/alt rock all the time... I miss that.
Right I totally agree
I thought the video came out in 2005?
my god so long ago =)
I was an army medic, iraq 2004, came home saw these guys in 2006. This vid is about the girl, my experience has been running from the war within towards the arms of anyone who can handle me. Been years and this song reminds me how far Ive come, and the distance i still need to go
Thank you for your service 🙏 takes quite some time to gain control again after being effected by things, and war, damn that would be something that would haunt any one of us. This is one of those songs that I don’t transport to a certain moment of my life, but an overall point in time. Those angsty teen years where you felt EVERYTHING so intensely
Saw them live last week. His voice has definitely gotten stronger since this first came out. They were really good.
Been listening to this song since I was 10 years old... I'm almost 20 now. 10 years later I can say trapt has served me well! Great band.
Collin Glover same here man i was about 10 as well and im 23. Trapt may not be the most technical band by any stretch, but they just have such a raw nostalgic sound that is unique.
plus that chick in the vid is smokin
Yeah I agree. To achieve such a memorable emotional sound with limited technical ability requires creativity and soul. Gotta appreciate that.
Yep, they're all really good song writers

10 years later this song still hits that spot. Still gets the blood pumping and memories flowing. It make my heart hurt every time I see her. Every time I see eyes close to hers, I look away. Every time I see the sunlight reflected from something, I see her smile. Every time I sleep or close my eyes, I hear her laughter and I can't get it out of my head. My beating heart keeps me awake at night because it longs for her. I miss the smell of her hair and how it felt so amazing every time I kissed her.
I need to let go of this pain until this echo echo echo in my mind Until this echo echo echo can subside. There is no time to waste asking why. I'd have ran away with you. By my side. I need to let go let go let go of this pain until this echo echo echo can subside.
This song lives in my mind rent free. 🥺 take me back
Overwhelming nostalgia watching this one... wish I could go back to 03
This song brings back so many memories from circa 2005, 2006, 2007. Love this video. Its a shame that Trapt really never made it big and that after they made this song, they really never went anywhere and never made any other really big hit songs.
They were successful for a brief period of time. And unfortunately haven't made any significant music in many years. Great band though.
For me and I'm sure many others, this was one of those songs that hit u right off the bat. I was infatuated w it, played it all the time, my gf loved it, all our friends, hell even the neighbors. Even now almost twenty years later(holy fk) it's never gotten old. How many songs can u say that about.
Lots. ..
I was like..."Is that the girl from Harriet the Spy?" LOL YES...it is!
And eurotrip!
Early 2000’s was so good. I miss it all the time.

the album came out in 2002...i just turned 22, and i can still remember every single word of every single song. there's certain songs and albums that will always remind you of good and bad times, and evoke those same emotions you had when you first heard them. this song and album, without a doubt, fit that description. #trapt #toogood
This song is my husband and my song. This album summed up our time in addiction. Met when I was 18,18 years together, clean for 8 years. Trap was it for us. Still love them.
Julie Primrose this is beautiful ❤️.
This song is so beautiful and addictive I play it over and over
Excellent song by Trapt. Two decades later, it definitely leaves an "Echo"!
The video had a nice touch by having Michelle Trachtenberg in it. She definitely was the IT girl in her late teen and early twenties' years.
After getting through a day of high school with the windows down blasting trapt down the highway. Good memories that I'll never forget.
Doing the same in 2019 💜💜
sounds awesome
Exactly.
HS memories watching this with straight buds obsessing over Michele Trachtenberg, and in-the-closet me with the singer 😂
Lmao I did the same thing! Got really high and watch this video and couldn't stop thinking about her. She's gorgeous.
I still come back to this vid when I'm high as fuck just so I can look at her again. Lol
I woke up this late morning and this song was in my head. Like out of nowhere. It's been some time since I've listen to this stuff. I was literally singing it and humming it. Wow, this song brings back many memories......and though I miss these years I know there is no getting them back. All I have the power to do is to enjoy these present days of mine and live my life to the fullest. This song reminded me of who I was back then and maybe that's what I needed to get through this early life crisis I'm having. This type of music definitely helped me back then and I already feel lifted and ready to get back into the fight. Peace and love to all who have listened to this song and felt something from it. Rock on guys 2021. Age is not number, it's a mindset and feeling. Live your best and don't look back. Be in the moment and cherish it......and keep this music alive! 😁✌🖤🤘🎸🎶🎙🔊

@@JarredCarneyOFFICIALBULLDOG Only the explicit one! .. Otherwise, no. Man this song is so heavy in a deeper, more trippy way! It's one of my fav. songs ever, plus nostalgia; can play this dope song on repeat. Headstrong is great, but on repeat is more annoying. Both great, still underrated songs, though.
@Short For A Stormtrooper Big For Your Mom Echo is a masterpiece! My only problem with Lost Realist is the "I only keep...what I give away" part, which makes no sense.... "Why do I rush to slow down?" makes plenty of sense & is as awesome as the chorus. But, "I only keep...what I give away" just seems like a redundant addition to that & makes no sense. They're both amazing songs, though.
