Fixing Common Combi Boiler Problems

- Glowworm Betacom and Heatline Capris are one and the same boiler. In this video I fix some common Combi Boiler Problems.
Boiler Repair is a Logical Process and often just requires enough time to find the solution.
Fixing hot water problems can be issues from plate heat exchangers to diverter valves to pumps.
It is truly great to see you back. I was always impressed by your ability to fix boilers that no one else would even look at. I look forward to viewing your video in 2023
Thanks you. I do have a lot of stuff filmed so hopefully I will find some gems.
Ditto

Ollie! Yay. Welcome back. Literally did the same job on a Viessmann last week, blocked expansion hose. Good tip about releasing the pressure, learned that the hard way :)
Didn’t we all? 😂
@@mynameis9739 Exactly. I'm not special, just screwed it up before. 🙂
So did I :-)
I am glad to see you back:) I live in Poland now and I am starting my own boiler business. Different country different markets but very similar boilers. Thanks for the knowledge you impart.
I'm looking forward to the next movies. Greetings from Poland.
I hope your business is going ok. ;-)

2 years late... ;-)
@@HeatingGeek better late than never! 😜
Welcome back good to see you again
Thanks all the comments are overwhelming:-)
like lots of people pleased to see you back ,someone who knows what there doing , informative videos , and the grief that us service engineers all experiance
Exactly, when the boilers just won't play ball.
Yes man! Love your videos so informative. Glad to see you back 👍😁
Sorry I didn’t respond to this comment. I didn’t see it in my feed. :-(
Nice to see you back posting vids Ollie....
Top man..... 👍
Thanks 🙂
Great to see your presence again Ollie. I find greater satisfaction into bringing a boiler back to life, even if it is a heap. I question what other heating and plumbing engineers will do once there's a decline in gas boilers sales. Will they continue to rip them out and replace them? If so for what?
Too many robust boilers are ragged off the wall and replaced. When they can quite easily brought back to life. Hope there's more to follow. .👍
Took a while but im back :-)
After watching your video on the valiant eco-tech circuit board failure where temperature display numbers are jumping up and down. i diagnose my own Eco tech boiler with the same fault it was so helpful thank you
I'm glad you find the videos helpful. :-)
Glad you’re back! One of the best channels on RUclips! 💪🏻
Thanks :-)
Good to see you back
Thanks :-)
Great to see you back.

Thank you. I hope the poor editing won't spoil them too much
Yes buddy, you back again, long time no see.. 👍🏻
Been a couple of years
Great to see you back buddy!
Thanks. Its good to be back.
I am currently mentoring a junior gas engineer and have asked him to subscribe to your channel. I said watch this man and learn and of course begin viewing from your your first upload
Thats great. I want to get the new guys into fixing boilers and not replacing them. keep the old beasts going and then change them when they're finally dead.
You're back 👍 inspired me to start a RUclips page you did. Hope all is good mate. Edit Although Tiktok is better than my RUclips lol
Nice to see yah.....to see yah nice!! Hope more vids are in the making mate. Missed your content. Happy 2023 mate
a few coming. :-)
@@HeatingGeek learnt a lot from your vids mate, the analytical thinking process, methodical practice, wiring, even the oldest boiler you did! That was class!! Mate, I would pay to work with you, just to soak up some of the knowledge. I don't think there's nothing you can't fix....now that's confidence. The biggest tool is the knowledge though and that's the learning curve for a lot of engineers. Waiting in anticipation of some new classics 👍🏼💯🧠
@@raymondhenry1708 An Ideal Logic had me stumped last week. :-) Thought it would be simple so didn't even film it.... :-)
@@HeatingGeek that's what I love about this game to be honest....everydays a learning day!

The top G of service and repair is back! Wonder how that old Vaillant you fixed is doing, the one in the outdoor shed with fault after fault…think the preheat was stuck on giving low bp.

I have a modern digital boiler ,hooked up to a 1960s stylee rad system ( council )
i cant believe the cost its 77p to switch on the CH & around 2-12 p every so often after that
if you leave it on overnight its between a fiver & a tenner. I spent more on gas in dec 22 than i did FOR THE WHOE YEAR IN 2021
Unbelievable that this kind of boiler still is running.
If you have hot water but no heating on this model?
external controls would be my first guess
Junior boiler with prv and flow return up back of boiler. Plate out p, pump ect. Worster bosh
