And, Isabelle doesn't decorate your pine trees unless you have a min amount of fully grown pine trees. 10 yielded nothing for me but 15 seemed to trigger it. I hope this helps future players!

A tip I discovered: instead of the same flower different color (so it doesn’t breed) is mix with another flower. Like red rose+blue windflower+red rose+blue windflower+red rose. that last trick will definitely be helpful very soon. I'd been working on trying to get hybrid flowers and I'd been seeing a lot of spreading along with some good results. But I can anticipate this getting out of hand, so I'll definitely be doing that later. I went back to my New Leaf game recently and my jaw dropped cuz I forgot my town was overrun by flowers. So I put in more roads to make things look tidier. In this respect, New Horizons is a huge improvement.
Also a good tip for stoping flowers from spreading and not wasting an oh so precious design slot is create a pattern with fallen leaves that are the same colors as the grass, then you can use that same pattern overlayed on the paths they provide like the stone or dirt path for some layered variety. You can tweak the colors as the seasons change easily too so they don’t stand out too much.

This one I did out of curiosity, when you have a failed money sapling. (Realized after 2 days of not growing. NL would show the sapling dying instead of stunted) you can replant the tree onto another gold spot instead of burying more bells. It will start to grow like normal and become a money tree.
Shoutout from my Group on FB from Atlanta, GA North America! Thanks for making these! I personally found these ALL insightful! Encouraging my members to leave you comments!
I've seen people use flowers as a stand-ins for other things. Like for instance pumpkins. I think it's cosmos that have been freshly picked and are orange. If you planted those on sand that you laid down with the island designer, they wouldn't grow and you wouldn't need to pluck them. And I have a ton of stunted trees. Most of mine that aren't in my orchard are stunted. Adds a varied look and I don't have to worry about wasps.
Mushrooms I didn't know about the flowers on the beach being stunted nor did I know about just doing the saplings to stunt trees. Cool things to know! Looking forward to the fall update :)
I like using mums on my beaches to get that kinda beach weed look. I didn’t know about keeping trees small by planting fruit behind them, I’ll have to give that a try! Also, the rare mushroom infor was interesting. I know I ended up with a lot of rare mushrooms when I TT’d forward, and I guess that explains it.
Trees! Great video! I don’t have any stunted trees on my island, this is a new trick I learned from this video. I do have some flowers on my beach, but I let them fully bloom before moving them there. What I’m working on currently is breeding the most challenging colors of hybrids.
You can also stunt the growth of a tree by digging it up and putting it right next to a river, or another edge of land. Like a cliff, edge of the dirt next to the beach, etc.
TREES ! Thanks for another great video. I learned some new things that I can use. My favorites were the tip to stop flowers spawning and keeping trees at an early stage.

I planted different stages of flowers on my beaches and it’s super cute. It’s an easy way to have something that looks like weeds on the beach, but won’t still spread 🥰 I’m going to try to stunted trees next
Trees. I actually didn't know a few of these, especially the clear path to stop the flowers from taking over. Definitely going to use that trick from now on!
If you use the "plant a tree on the edge of a cliff" glitch, you can also keep your trees stunted. Currently have a very cute stunted cedar tree on one of my cliffs.
Ahh, that coconut tree on land tip is so helpful, thank you! I just built a little cafe by the beach and wanted to have a mixture of both tree types by it and was so sad it wouldn't let me. Now I can do it! :D
Haven't scrolled far enough back to see if anyone mentioned it, but if you plant trees close to the edges of cliffs, beaches and close enough to houses they'll often stunt as well. That's obviously not foolproof but it happens quite often!
You should do a video on sea creatures. Upon release after I got the game I remember having trouble with my bamboo trees. Like they just wouldn't grow and I couldn't figure out why. So I dug them up and moved them around, turns out they didn't have enough space to grow. I had some on my cliffs and they were either too close to the cliff's edge or too close to each other. It prevents them from growing.

Don't even have to use a gold spot! Any spot will do and it'll start growing again
I put cosmos on my beach too, they remind me of seaweed and the little bits of grass you sometimes find on beaches near forests
I've been trying to figure out the tree stunting trick, thank you so much for this!!
I just got Animal Crossing about a week ago, my first game of the series. So your videos have been helpful, thanks.
Anyone still play Animal Crossing: New Leaf? Because I am playing all of the AC games.
ACNH is my 1st animal crossing game
I play NL all the time
I still play Let's Go to the City
Shoutout from my Group on FB from Atlanta, GA North America! Thanks for making these! I personally found these ALL insightful! Encouraging my members to leave you comments!
Nice, been playing almost since ACNH came out, and still two of the five were new to me and will be used extensively.
Thanks!
Thank you! I recently started viewing your tips. My kids got me this game. I don't know hardly any tips. I appreciate your teaching us. Thank you!
Thank you so much! Just got the island designer today and my island jumped from 2-star to 4-star!
Trees! I’m over 400 hours now in ACNH. Was trying so hard to stop my flowers. Thanks for the advice! I can finish my rose garden now!
Mushrooms
I didn't know about the flowers on the beach being stunted nor did I know about just doing the saplings to stunt trees.
Oooh I'm totally gonna use the stunting trees method! Thank you!
Newbie 1 month islander, love learning new tips! I’m currently using my son’s game and sharing an island but have my own switch on order... can’t wait to start my own island from scratch in March!
I was honestly surprised that all of these were things that I didn't know. Gotta save these ideas for my island later.
Along with flower seeds, I use saplings and bush starts! Makes the beaches look more overgrown ❤️
The stunted tree trick is super awesome thank you so much! (Trees!!) I'm currently working on a kind of horticulture/crafting area so I definitely will include some stunted saplings around it!
8 likes, 2 comments, and no views. Good job RUclips.
I had low expectations of learning new tips but I learned a lot! Thank you 😊
Trees 😉
Currently redesigning my 4 star island. And I have accidentally stunted a tree before but ended up digging it up.
I cant wait to have a 5 star rating.
This gives me ideas 💡 🙂
If you also plant a piece of fruit on a cliff where there isn't a 3x3 area around it, it will be stunted btw
COSMOS is a nice word. idk where I got it from but it is cool
I had no idea about flower stunting or that little trick with the trees! Funny how you can learn new things about this game every day, haha.
Me before watching: ugh another one of these videos
Me after watching: wow these are actually useful tips!
literally SAME
If you use the "plant a tree on the edge of a cliff" glitch, you can also keep your trees stunted. Currently have a very cute stunted cedar tree on one of my cliffs.
How do I do that?!
honestly came here not thinking i was gonna learn anything but i learned SO MUCH THANK YOU
Ahh, that coconut tree on land tip is so helpful, thank you! I just built a little cafe by the beach and wanted to have a mixture of both tree types by it and was so sad it wouldn't let me. Now I can do it! :D
Had no idea about number four. Thanks so much!
That invisible pattern trick is so clever! That'll definitely come in handy
Haven't scrolled far enough back to see if anyone mentioned it, but if you plant trees close to the edges of cliffs, beaches and close enough to houses they'll often stunt as well. That's obviously not foolproof but it happens quite often!
You should do a video on sea creatures. Pretty sure based on movement and speed of bubbles on surface combined with going under water to see shaw size and speed you can tell what it is having all types on screen side by side to see the differences ie grapes always bu ble up in a straight line and never my
Thank you. I had seen these things in use, but didn’t know how they did it. Thanks for sharing these tips.
Always learn something new in your videos, in this case everything on the list came as a suprise so thanks for that, the flowers pattern will deffo be handy
Coming out of my lurk cave to say TREES. I always watch to the end but I watch on the TV. XD
Never have a keyboard to hand! Keep up the vids hun. Looking forward to mushrooms!!
Trees! Thanks for the tips! I had no idea about the flower spreading thing. I appreciate that one cause my flowers are a huge problem lol
Trees, thank you I did learn some new tricks from you today. Specially the flower trick and planting coconut trees inland, thanks again
Trees! Always enjoy your videos btw. Helps me feel current when I’ve been lagging a little behind on my island 😅
I joined the community about a month ago and today I got K.K. Slider in my island and I cried during his horizons song when the credits rolled it was so cute. Now I’m gonna work the hardest I can to make my island the best I can
I discovered The flower stopping technique few Days ago, but instead of using it directly on Flowers, I use it next by trees that are on my "Wild area" where Flowers grow without control. At least I can access trees easily for items :D
Just so you're aware, mushroom season is two months away still for Northern hemisphere (as opposed to one month away like he states in the video). Mushroom season for North is November, hence why mushroom season was May in Southern hemisphere.
not sure if this was said before, but you can also place seaweed on the ground. looks pretty good
I've been trying to figure out the tree stunting all day without an ugly sapling! Thank you!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! Flowers keep getting past the fences and I SCREAM!!!
Trees!!!! Thank you learned a lot. Working on my flower garden and beach dock.
Thank you, this was awesome! I’m a newbie so I’ll take all the tips I can get! Your video was informative, fast paced (but not too face paced) and well narrated, thank you!
Stunting trees is a great idea, thanks for sharing :) I like your videos a lot, keep it up
