I was disappointed when I found out it was electric and took over a year to start using it but found I LOVE it!!!!!! Bacon doesn’t spatter all over the stove like it does in a skillet. Hamburgers...GREAT! Veggies..GREAT. An entire breakfast at once! I use it almost every day. Never thought of using it for searing large cuts of meat??? Will now. I have a large Le Griddle outside that is gas and use my Thermador more because it’s nonstick! If I ever bought another stove would definitely have a griddle!!!

We use cast iron griddle over two burners. I suggest you get the range in different configuration.

You say the metal won’t scratch the surface, but in the Thermador manual it explicitly says not to use metal utensils on the griddle

Hello Purcell. Your video makes me wish we had the griddle, but alas, we have a small kitchen so we have the Thermador 4 burner dual fuel stove. I'm just wondering about the best way to clean collected grime from that vent opening that rises from the back of the stove. Any tips?

I like my griddle and have used it every weekend, mostly for breakfast (pancakes bacon hash browns etc). Unfortunately, the coating of the griddle has gradually come off onto the cooked food. I therefore, disagree with the ladies comment that the coating will not fall off. I find this very disconcerting because of the unknown health consequences and am currently no longer able to use it. Does thermadore have a better griddle product that will not loose its coating or have a product without a coating?

I just got mine range and wanted to know how long does it take for the griddle to heat up because I did it for over half and hour and still it doesn’t heat up. I did it at 400’ and still couldn’t make pancakes. I’m very upset because I had to wait almost a year for this and there’s three different problems with it. I’m pulling my hair out😤😤😤😤😤😭😭😭😭😭
    Please help me. Thanks

Mine heats up in under 3 minutes, you likely have defective product then

Any help for a thermador griddle that hasn’t been cared for? Years upon years of Baked on grease. Its the 40” with the double doors, smaller oven doesn’t have glass. I believe the griddle should be stainless steel but it’s almost all black. Thank you for any help.

No, the griddle is electric and is not a drop in module for your range.

Hi David, not sure what is going on, how old is your griddle and have you contacted Customer Service at Thermador to discuss? The models I use are about a year old and do loose their coating and I use them heavily, happy to help if you can provide more details.......Larissa

I had them send me a new one when the range was still in warranty, it failed even faster. Need a permanent solution. way too expensive for such failures.

Unfortunately, we're starting a new build and the wife wants a red range. I think the thermador looks like the better of the ones I'm researching, but it doesn't come in red. Viking and the Bertozzoni seem to be the only ones that do.

why would it make if difference if the griddle is heated up by gas or electric, do the molecules care what energy source gets them moving faster?? Besides, how do you expect any oxygen to get to the flame on a griddle that is totally covered up? just asking.
