After seeing your initial video on the boxes I said I can do this! Planted mine in flower pots, tires, and boxes. Then started mators in boxes. Live in apartment with a yard about 12 by 16. All things are doing okay. So glad for the harvest, blessings of food. My grandfather had a garden and we all worked in it. He was a WW1 veteran and had some fingers missing from his left hand. I asked him one day how he lost his fingers, he said digging tators. Put my hand in that dirt and druw back some nub finger. That always scared me about digging tators. Found out later he lost his fingers in France during the war. Thank you for teaching us.

Thanks so much for sharing your harvesting these potatoes! What a great demonstration of saving food bought at the store to multiply your grocery dollars! Grow your groceries, y'all 😁 We did the same thing in big containers rather than boxes, but still pleased we didn't have to "throw out" sprouted 'taters. I never would have thought (before we grew some of our own) how much of a delight it is to dig potatoes and y'all showed how enjoyable it is! Thank you!

I have found growing potatoes in containers as you have done, that consistent and regular watering, so the soil doesn't dry out ensures a bigger harvest. For the amount of potting mix and the size of the boxes, I think your yield could have been 9lb per box min. Once you know your soil is high in the nutrients needed, then remember during the active growing period consistent watering is key. Good luck.

Red potatoes are called Russets. They are usually used for potato salad. The yellow potatoes are called Yukon Gold. The brown skinned potatoes are known as Burbanks. They are the go to for a baking potato. All or a combination of the kinds make a great mashing potato. I enjoyed the harvest video. Best wishes and looking forward to more fun videos.

Plant, harvest, eat, then plant again, & so on... God gave our bodies all that we could ever need to survive, & all we have to do is either find it or grow it♡

Yum what a nice harvest for supper. I love fried potatoes and onions. ❤
