I'm dead at the AOL messenger "can we at least get a face reveal?!" LOL I was thinking about commenting about it. I've watched your videos for years and thought when watching this one "I have no idea what this man looks like." On another note, Congratulations with your marriage. I hope its a life long one! Keep these videos coming.
💪😎 It's been three years since you and your dad recommended Mike to me at the Indian Larry Block Party.... He tuned my two bikes.... IMHO.... he's one of the best tuner in the country!
Mike's been building my bikes for the past 10 years. My gen1 nitrous zx14, gen2 turbo hayabusa, 2009 hd electra glide (96inch to 107inch), and my 2023 street glide special 131 build. Theres no one like mike, he's the fuckin man
I hadn't planned on changing the cam on my 107, it was faster than my Twin Cams and i didn't care if it loped like my old Shovelhead, but my mechanic who builds lots of high performance Harley engines made the case for me in his testimony of better performance and he wasn't wrong. It was shocking how much it woke up the engine across the board, and the 3/4 style cam lope was just an added bonus. Am i thinking about a 124" kit? Yes...but also, thinking about a new couch and kitchen table set as well...lighting for the studio and what nots...life sometimes has a way of reminding us that we should be satisfied with much better performance than the motorcycles we were accustomed to just five years ago, let alone 20-30-40 years ago.
Got similar gains on my 22 fxlrs using a fueling reaper 472 cam and same fab28 exhaust. 113hp/135tq getting anywhere from 35-48mpg depending on how I ride 🤙🏽
That's what's up! Yeah that was one of the most noticeable things, was just the increased mileage I was getting straight off the lift, really insane - Which version of the Fab28 are you running?
2022 Road Glide ST 117. Zippers 468, Thundermax tuner, SS intake, and Gallop 2 into 1 full length stainless pipe. Nice choppy idle and lots of torque. I tried several cams and pipes and this combo was what I ended up with. Couldn't be happier. Check out Gallop exhaust they are bad ass.
Yeah that's actually good to hear from someone who has the perspective of doing multiple setups, this was my first swing and honestly a year later I'm still blown away by the performance gains - I'm not sure I'm familiar with that exhaust, shoot me a link
Search Gallop exhaust. All off there pipes are works of art. The one I am using is Freedom Blaster. It looks similar to the HPI exhaust. Andy is really easy to work with and he will let you have input on building your exhaust. It takes about a month from start to finish.
I put the sleeper kit in my sport glide Currently waiting on a lift kit from bare knuckle performance for the front end now Have lifted the rear with a kit from kodlin
Good job, I put on the Trask transmission top/vent ,the M8s especially when a cam is installed creates crankcase pressure, ask your buddy Mikes opinion on this
im doing the same soon i was really disappointed with my bike sounding like a sewing machine. that being said a nice 2-1 fixed a lot of that problem for me
Question, where you can buy the set with the Indian Larry question mark for the 3: derby cover, ignition and air filter? For a twin cam with Arlen Ness big sucker...
Yea, sure, I did the same...not the same Dynocologist though. My same engine sounds good too. There must be something that draws us to doing these things more than a list of parts and charts. I understand both of those things. My real passion is music...classical, orchestral music. Sounds sorta sally but that is what I like. I play trombone. Camming my FXLRS created music to my ears. I am not sure all understand and some may be tone-deaf but, yes, the cam does make music.
Man that’s a really cool perspective that you shared, I appreciate that. I mean riding is such a visceral experience, and part of that is definitely sound, so I think it’s fair to say this
I play drums and guitar, I hardly ever listen to music when riding my st, I don’t even have the Rockford fosgate stereo I figured it’s just added weight and I love just crushing miles and listening to that exhaust
Did I hear Mike say synthetic oil smokes lifters and you now just run conventional oil ? Just asking cause I just had my 1000mile service done on my 24 lowrider s and had them go synthetic, if this is the case I will switch back to convectional when I get me CR483 cam installed over the winter.
I dont like the syn 3 or amsoil. They are terrible for these engines. I run non syn hd oil mainly. Its their 360 oil. If you want to run synthetic run motul. There are several non syn oils that are good. Brad penn is very good, valvoline vr series also. Anything qith high zinc
Surprisingly NOTHING - Compared to my twin cams, heat just has not been an issue what so ever. However, that being said, I've been kicking around the idea of throwing an ultra cools vertical on this bike, I have one on one of my dynas and its been great
That one is actually the detachable one offered by Harley - I wish they would make a taller option, say something beyond 20'', but hey, you can't have everything 🙃
Probably another K. so it’s 2500/20H and 2500/15T. So you’re talking 125 per pony and 165 t. But you’re getting the five characteristics as he outlined… all senses are enhanced
Dyno numbers are useless. It’s the tq under the curve ! And how it rides ! I chased numbers. My 124 m8 makes 140/140. On a 482 cam with 11.7:1 static CR. Overall the riding experience of the SE447 on the little 107 was a more pleasant riding experience. Same builder same tuner.. he’s top notch and somehow made that 482 cam that’s super exhaust dependent run like a champ. I mean it rides great. it’s a balls to the walls violently fast bike. But making all the goods after 3700 to really slap .. nah. I got a lifter bleeding down and a couple other little issues from beating the fuck outta my shit for a ton of miles on a stock bottom end. Going back for bottom end build with a TORQUE CAM. The grand poobah of tq cams for baggers Cyclerama 480mt ! Horsepower is work. Torque is what makes u smile and enjoy the ride.
Well said Gerald, especially about that HP/TQ analogy! That's really interesting your 124 M8 is hitting roughly the same numbers as my TC 124 - I never once regretted running that build - Keep me posted when you rebuild that bottom end, would love to hear the result
@@FXDLSBrooklynno doubt ! Those TC124s that SS do are stout motors and are def on par with a m8 124. There are some stock head m8 124s making in the low 150s tq wise. I often enjoy it more than the road glide. M8s are dope. Super smooth and insane power potential. But just like the vid says.. the TC has more charm I guess u could say. I could wax poetic about HD all day long bro. And I do. Ppl can’t stand me. But yes I’ll check back for this comment in a few weeks when the SS flywheel goes in and I freshen up the motor with that and a straight up tq cam. I’m guessing I’ll be 130/150. I’ll trade some hp for tq any day But all that tq from prog 2700-5k before it starts to fall off. I don’t like riding these things at 6k anyway

Dude I didn't even know you had an RK, I guess the FXR gets most of the attention on social media 😂 - But yeah, I was this close to going with that 475 you mentioned after hearing it in someones bike, Mike talkled me into that Red Shift - Either way you go as you said, it's a monster - Let's get a ride in before the block party man!

You did good.. I put the zippers 468 in mine with cobra slip ons I got 106/ 133, no dip, and a beautiful curve. Enjoy your new bike!
