This is the Amazing Fantasy 15 buck, and as someone who owns the AF15 Spider-Man Figure, it's one of my best posing Spider-Man figures. The addition of the mid leg swivel allows for you to pull off any crouching pose you may want even without the toe bend, so all it requires is a foot mold with a Toe Bend. I'm almost certainly picking this up because all of the Black Suit Spidey figures are extremely expensive on the after market, so I'm picking this one up at retail price.
@@aznsketcher pricey for me is double the retail Price. Since a lot of the Retro-carded spideys sold for $25, and the cheapest listing for a Symbiote Spider-Man I found on the aftermarket was $50, with some of the others either being $80+ or are tied to a 5 pack that I don't wanna get. And since I want to get 2 of them, 1 to unbox, the other to keep carded, I don't wanna spend $50 a pop per figure. I'd rather spend $50 total with the secret war figure. Especially with that squint eyed head.
Definitely like this body more than the old retro Spiderman buck, in my mind he was always smaller than most of his allies it don’t matter if he was an older or young adult lol
I thought this one was going to be a pinless version of the retrocard symbiote spider-man but I'm glad you pointed out that the body is different. Also I don't understand why Hasbro keeps making these Spider-man figures with the new torso articulation but no toe joints. Why does it have to be one or the other instead of both?
thank you for the review and for highlighting the poor qc job by habsro. Glad i passed on the this, the discoloration on the torso is a deal breaker to me
According to Marvel’s website Spidey is listed at 5’10 and 167lbs. Not a huge guy. Standing next to Captain America at 6’2 and 240lbs there should be a significant difference in height and muscle mass.
Out of all this wave all i am picking up is Wolverine. I was indecisive about this figure, but just like you said retro Black suit Spiderman is still superior than this one.
I prefer this slimmer body for Spidey, but beyond that to add some story specific info. During Secret Wars, Peter was a grad school student, but he is also only 5’10, and both in the Secret Wars comic and the contemporary issues of The Amazing Spider-Man, he was drawn much more on the skinny side, making the AF-15 buck the appropriate choice, though the original retro card one has a more accurate head
Nice looking figure - the eyes look way bigger than what Mike Zeck drew in the comics (and what's on the pog). Too bad they wasted all the money on the lenticular pogs/holders, when they could have added a PP unmasked head instead (or an unbroken shield for Cap).
@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork nah, i have it. And I can't get the same deepness. His torso and butterfly joints are there but its so limited, it doesn't fully work. And the ankles are so tight mine broke
Dang, im almost exactly backwards. I love the range and the sculpt of the smaller buck (I also think the RYV makes spidey look far too buff) but im probably not getting this fig because the headsculpts are too old school for me lol. Maybe one day Hasbro releases the perfect fig for us
@@diegocaballero5775 For me, the definitive ear of Spider-Man is the Silver and Bronze Age, so this Spider-Man head fits that bill eactly. I'm also sick of companies always doing the Bagley SPidey design when the Romita Sr/Andru is the superior of them all.
@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork my definite spidey is more modern since I grew up in the 2010s, but I could not agree more on the eyes. Romita Sr had the perfect spidey lenses, I'm glad the stuff I grew up with defsulted more towards those proportions over the 2000s bagley look. Fingers crossed we get new headsculpts for future spidey releases
while i know it’s not for everyone i like this body more as i feel like peter parker is just never buff i see him as fit like even a 27 ish year old from spiderman 2 game isn’t buff he is fit i just think he is thin as it makes swinging easy
pic up spider shot heat him up pop his arms and legs off and swap them on to your symbiote spidey and youll have a pinless spidey on your favorite buck, you will have to remo ve the maroon stripe on spider shots for arms
I prefer that new body as Peter should not be built like he is Captain America, but at the same time, this does not scream like a $25 figure to me. In fact, I'm thinking maybe I should just wait for Mafex to eventually reissue the Symbiote Spidey or do a new one rather than buy another hasbro one,
I prefer the Retro body but everything else is just better on this one. The squinting head, the color, the smaller symbol. it looks so good, cant wait for mine.
Peter Parker was definitely an adult, grad student, when Secret Wars took place. Still getting him tho, but will probably just keep him on the card. Thanks for the early review.
Thanks man. You just saved me 30 euros. I'm OK with my retro figure. Dunno how they managed to screw up the spider sign so badly and those huge feet - they don't look the same as the mold from amazing fantasy. Also, does the white paint feel tacky? The new retro Venom has this problem and it won't take a hot bath well.
kinda confused at the choice to use the amazing fantasy buck for this figure. i love the body and it has great articulation but this version of spidey shouldnt be a teenager. petey maybe should be smaller though, i guess its whatever floats ur boat. the original shield plates were reversable and had pics front and back. no offense to your girl but they arent pogs. pogs are thicker and made for slamming on the ground. can understand why shed think so though
I too many problems on yours. If you got it from a private seller then I think they were probably illegally given a batch of defected figures that were supposed to be destroyed but they kept it to sell and make extra cash.

Really? I sold my extra copy of the retro Symbiote Spidey for $30 a few days before they announced the SW wave. Pricey to me is like $75 and up....

true, Spider-Man and daredevil are considered to be the shortest heroes

Yeah but this is marvel legends. They're not exactly 1/12th scale so alongside other marvel legends, spidey is undersized.

Is it me or is missing legs on the back butterfly joint?
Im literally only getting him for the headsculpts. I don't like that "younger" amazing spiderman buck at all, its so overhyped. Doesn't pose too well
I think it poses far superior to the too muscular body.

i keep seeing a bunch of people get this early and i’m still waiting on my preorder, are these releasing early by any chance?
I can see this hitting late November, only released in Canada right now.

It was purchased by my lady through eBay, unfortunately I don’t know the seller but pretty sure they made multiple of this.
