By request! Since we have been looking at a few characters Season 3.5 changes people bene asking for a video on 17, so here is a video on 17! Now I do wanna say that yes technically a few of these are what you would call "reactable" but the golden rule of reactable is its what you are looking for, and considering its so easy for him to go high low left right, when you are looking for the crossup is when you get hit overhead instead is sometimes how she goes, he's got a wealth of extra options to work with now on top of better combos!
What else do you think he needs and also because of this buff do you believe that he will seen more in tournament next year and also final did a video on He I am happy 😊
the left right mixups arent useful since they can all be mashed out of. What is useful now though is the wall jump. Just being able to use rekkas in the air makes this move MUCH better. i would still speed it up a little though. I play 17 btw so i may know more things than someone who doesnt.
Its my birthday now im 37 and old! Jiren combos in a few days? no idea im doing all this off the top of my head if you think youtubing has some sorta grand plan you'd be wrong!
@@BronzzBlood eh. Not so much. If you had asked any 17 players about his state back then, most of them for sure would say he would have needed a buff. Myself included.
@@BronzzBlood Before the patch, 17 had a lot of flaws that pulled him to the lower side of tier lists. His regular neutral was bad, and his aerial neutral was just non-existent. His standard rekka routes were always a commitment, since you could only either barrier or wall jump (both VERY unsafe and punishable options). He had trouble getting sliding knockdowns (since his only option was power blitz) and thus his pressure relied heavily in assists, much like most aspects of his gameplay. That, and his tiny normals. Now, after the patch, the situation is completely different. Not only his mix-up got insanely busted, thanks to his new moves, his aerial neutral (as we've seen in the video) got actually ridiculously better. The problems involving his pressure, neutral and skd got totally solved because he now has PB whenever he wants. Also, the commitment involving rekka routes/walljumps got also solved bcs of his fast fall. He now can finally hold a fight by himself. I'm not saying he wasn't good back then, he could be good, but you needed to put A LOT of work.
For the man who won the Tournament of Power and saved 9 universes from permanent erasure (potentially 10 if the winner made a selfish wish), he *really* gets the shaft in this game. Give my boy A17 some love, he's been my favorite since I was a wee lad.
That is just not true. Even if you open people up EVERY time, which half the cast can do online in theory, he still has bad normals. But he now has a way to get in because his wall jump is better which is good, but 17 will never be good online. Hes more of a mind game, high risk high reward. Or in short, why dont you play 17 then
@@maremare9366 No I don't, but it's good that someone came and told me his issues as a character. Still, I stand in my idea that online instability will give him certain level of godhood😂 There's just no way your reacting to those things.
@@octaviomaiani5624 I am actually very surprised because you gave me a thoughtful response. Thank you. I agree that he has upsides from online, but if Teen Gohan can open you up just as much (if not more because 50/50), deals the same damage, has a broken auto combo and has a better assist, why would you play 17? Its for the mind games. 17 has more moves to mess with your opponent's brain. He has many options that become good if the opponent is not READY.
Happy birthday man! Im really happy with this changes to 17, finally i can make a good combo off a sd! i used to just do LLL or kiblasts and cry in no mix ups
There is a cool trick you can do from 2H with 17. After a 2H you can ex rekka and the overhead will stuff anything not upper body invincible like another 2H. Also if you're opponent does 2H this option you can ex fast fall and barrier to counter or light fast fall to make the opponent whiff. Haven't tried it online yet but I experimented in training for a while.
Fun fact : you can use your airborne rekka after your third auto combo hit, and its plus on block. And after, you can use your grounded rekka into it. You can also use your light grounded rekka to catch wall bounces and extend your combo, as long as you hold forward to use the overhead second, otherwise they'll fall out. Using a combo of the non ex barrier and the ex barrier can make your opponent mess up and throw them off. You can also, after landing a barrier counter, you can input the forward light rekka and combo into it. One last thing most players I see dont abuse, his rekka as he dashes has airborne invulnerability, and can catch superdashes and airborne mixups.
Just a small note to add; you can combo off of jS x3 with 236H when the opponent is grounded. So 17 can do a solo cross up confirm similar to how Kid Buu does with jS into H-Mystic Ball.
He also has true blockstring directly from his air kiblast, a little bit like k.buu when he crosses up with his air ki blast, 17 can then either convert into a true blockstring with L/M versions or a combo on reaction with the H version.
7:01 It was changed some while back that only the first hit of your aerial normal is an overhead the proceeding light would have been considered mid but the command overhead is still an overhead. May be nit picky but I just wanted it known for the record
Something just occurred to me... the first thing you think of when 17 does an EX is "He's crossing up, better block behind." But with a successful Tiger Knee that could be difficult to read now.
Lmao I feel bad for whoever has to deal with A.17 and Hit on the same team. Side switches, multiple overheads, and God ki mix ups? *Huehuehuehuehuehue*
lots of stuff to go through only 24 hours in a day. That said I like 16 more than a lot of other characters so maybe after the current slate he will be showing up
It's basic fighting games terminology, you should learn it. Here I found you a basic one: Type "Top 10 Fighting Game Terms that ALL Newcomers Should Know!!!" without the quotes in your youtube search bar.
I'd rather guess overhead or low than which side. I hate not having a block button. If there's anything that'll keep me off this game it's the lack of a block button same goes for street fighter
These are good and all but mixups and pressure was never his problem. They should of buffed his wall jump or something to help his neutral and ability to actually get in.
@stillballin8908 I see what youre saying but what they went for was an equally effective high risk/reward character where its a chore to get in but youre heavily rewarded for being patient. He now does great damage on his own and paring him with assits means hes intented to be a pure battering ram point character like zero or wolverine from Marvel games. He even has Zero's teleports lol this character ia going to be better than people think. Hes going to be late to the meta but watch this character is gonna do somw damage in a few months
Actually before the 3.5 patch,17 was considered a grounded character since he's only good on the ground but don't have many air options which is his biggest weakness since he cannot use his barrier on air and his wall jump was risky as hell so they added 17 more air opinions to make him viable but i agree you that they need his wall jump buff since its only use during the combo

Is it just me or is Roshi super tall in DBFZ?
Great video show case with a lesser used character.
I think it's just that Android 17 is *tiiiiiiny*, and makes Roshi look taller by comparison.
Roshi's knees are more bent, so if he stands he is somehow taller than 17
Mr マックラ he might be too tall honestly like what fuck
