This is an example of how the current educational system is failing African-Americans. This family took matters into their own hands and homeschooled. I'm surprised NBC let that bit out in the interview.
Not sure why you're so surprised. We invented various things people use from around the world: the traffic light, major developments in the light bulb's carbon filament, blood banking, closed-circuit television security, IBM Computer, Pacemaker, The Super Soaker, the modern microphone, and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). What!!!???
In the past this wasn't so out of the ordinary. There has been a concerted effort to thwart education for African-Americans since the 40s.

Thumbs up to homeschooling, intact families, healthy families, dedicated parents, obedient children, turning the TV off and picking up a book, and a beautiful body, yeah mom! After nine children, and she is not the size of a barn! Now that's being deceplined! 👍👍👍👍👍

that's why there's so much 'programming' to prevent this... if you can keep kids & their family's under-resourced, minimally educated and disciplined, focused on 'consumables' and perishables...

The thing about this is that they are not the only family with exceptional children that are geniuses and not jocks or entertainers. The media and society loves the jester but geniuses get downplayed. I can imagine what happened to children like this during the antebellum period.

Yeah, but sadly a lot of people don't have the time nor skills to do so.

These girls are just remarkable getting Master's degrees at such a very young age at 18. When I was their age, I was still in high school struggling with some of my courses. They should be really proud of themselves of receiving degrees when they are still children.
MAN! I absolutely LOVE this family and I am going to do everything if only just sharing my little nobody self can to ensure they make an impact on the world!

No, they don't actually. Especially not at their ages and their consistency. ESPECIALLY not black families. Slavery, Black codes, Jim crow, the destruction of black wall street, Redlining, being forced into ghettos, mass incarceration, etc made it much harder for black families to achieve this level of education let alone wealth. Any historian can tell you this it's not biased. Wealth is built generationally and when u stop people being from being able to achieve wealth for so many generations through not allowing education, worse education and destroying their accomplishments even when they historically did create wealth. It is a HUGE accomplishment to see this family succeed to the degree of which they ALL have.

Blacks need to establish a Eugenics society. Get smart blacks to either breed strictly with smart blacks or donate eggs and semen to the society. these kids could, when adults, donates eggs and semen. After a decade or two of making babies by way of test tubes, one would have tons of extremely smart blacks who would do wonders for their community.
