This is really a unique video I really enjoyed it. Haven't seen anything like this anywhere with any of the Rv youtubers. Great job, guys. Do it again, do it again. We love it.
I wonder if the folks who write the one star reviews fall into one of three buckets. 1) They're not happy unless they are complaining. 2) New to RV'ing and have unrealistic expectations. 3) Only stayed at those high end luxury RV resorts that only allow Class A's. I should add that I loved the video.
I think we need to be careful about generalizing. I've been full timing for six years. I've stayed at nice places with no amenities that I would rate 5, and then I have stayed in places like St John's campground in palatka that looks pretty great but smells like a litterbox, has dirty electric, and made me sign a waiver in case of damage but then completed high risk renovations immediately adjacent to my camper, they even left an iron rake, tines side up, in my site immediately just outside the camper door. I got back at night and almost had a trip to the hospital. I saw the rake gleam just in time to not step on the business end. I didn't leave a review on that place because it was owned by italians from Jersey, but I had paid for four weeks and left three weeks early.
you two are a BLAST love the great attitude I think that most one star reviews are usually posted by people that are DETERMINED to have a bad time and they are some of the hardest people to please no matter how hard you try!!!
This is a great video. Glad you had a good stay at Candy Hill in Winchester. We were kicked out because our kids were to noisy playing basketball with other kids after lunch. The owner was very rude. A few years later our friends were told to leave due to their loud kids. Only problem was they do not have any kids, not even 4 legged ones and when they told them that they got yelled at for being rude.
I loved this.... I also like that you were always looking on the bright side. Poor reviews can make or break a campground so I am glad you acted in a professional and caring manner. Good job!!!!
Great video! Honest reviews are so valuable-they help both consumers and hosts/owners. Your video shows that hosts really do listen, and it’s refreshing to see. Awesome work and loved the unique approach!
What a fun premise for your video this week! It showed that you can have a good time almost anywhere. I think being in the shoulder season helped these parks as well.
You guys are one of our favorite youtubers. I got to ask you Craig, what kind of lube do you spray into your Gen-Y hitch. I use a goosebox on our rig with white lithium greese which turns black and is a mess to clean.
I love your viewpoints on these campgrounds! 😊 I watch another RUclipsr that visits campgrounds in California based on the bad reviews - he is hilarious and offers great insight to ponder where to stay. Do more of these please! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Loved this!!! I guess everyone's experience is different also, I'm sure it has a lot to do with timing as to when you are traveling! Maybe a little on how your attitude is when you sign In also. . .Lol Ya'll are so sweet and went it with a five-star attitude!!! So you got one.😊
It's very true! We were definitely coming through at the end of the season, which worked in our favor. Also, I think coming into it thinking we were headed into the "worst campgrounds ever" helped us to be pleasantly surprised 😄
I think weekends at a KOA are really crowded .did you do your review on weekend stays? My pet peeve is the neighbors sewer next to our picnic table. Yuck minimally needs a plastic cover. I’ve also seen dogs frequently pee on fire rings so I would find something else to build my s’more on for sure! Thx for sharing new subscriber who just found you!
Great video and fun. I think a lot of our best experiences start with a good attitude. You went to each campground with an attitude of having a 5 star experience, and you did. Also, I think when you are camping in the off season, you're probably going to have a better experience than when it's summer and the place is packed with people (who aren't always in the best mood.) LOL
Hi guys, still loving your videos as always! Thanks for making them and sharing. I especially appreciate that you don’t make your videos alcohol and food focused. Yours is more about your RV travel life and exciting adventures. God bless and keep up the good work! Happy travels and outdoor adventures.
One of the funniest lines to come from you two - Putt butt for golf, had me laughing for several minutes! I want to combine it with another channel fav, "Let-er Rip!" Great series kids! And thanks for sharing!
Loved it, again. Too many grumpy Karens. We've stayed in a few sketchy places. OshVegas Palms Resort in Oshkosh is one you'll have to put on your list to check out if you are in the area. Has a 4.4 Star rating. We gave it a 2, which is the lowest we have ever given.
We are from Massachusetts & have stayed at Candy Hill multiple times. Very surprised at the bad reviews, they have always been very friendly & accommodating to us.
We’ve stayed at the KOA in Washington/Pittsburgh! I remember being confused driving in and stopping to double and triple check we were going the right way. We stopped there only as a convenient (albeit expensive) stop close to the highway. The highway was super close for all the driving we did from the highway to the campground, LOL! I do remember seeing and hearing the very loud interstate from our spot. I didn’t mind it for one night, and likely ran the fan or a/c to cover the noise. Fun video!!
You’re much more adventurous than us, of course we’re also a bit older and more cautious. If I read those reviews I’d be looking for another campground. You put the finishing touches on my Sundays….church, DD, then Craig & Victoria. Traveling mercies 🙏🏻❤️
So glad you reviewed the Pittsburg KOA. It WAS going to be one of our overnights on our way down to Florida. But the roads in just are not worth the stress for one night. We are 13’6” high and 42’long. Love watching you two.
I find that sometime, the guests at the campgrounds get a little picky. We have been camping for 20 years and only once or twice a year find a place that is completely unacceptable. Not always a 5 star but what the heck, it all rolls up into the adventure and experience. Memories are built on pluses and minuses. Love your adventurism and honesty. On another note we are hoping to meet you all at the Tampa show this January!!!!
0:41 - Spot on process with the power. I am always amazed when people do it correctly. 2 of my 4 sons are electricians. I would suggestion a surge protector though as well as one that shows polarity for all sites. Great video. We like KOAs when we need to have access to full hookups. All have been pretty good except one near Mount Rushmore, that sucker was packed to the point that the guy next to me had to have his slide go over to our spot and mine had to go over to his. We could hear each other when we sat in the slide department.
OMGGGG!!! That Pittsburg KOA road to get there and through the tunnel of trees was CRAZY!!! I was having secondhand stress retaking the route with y’all! 🫣
The KOA in Pittsburgh is close to us. We've stayed there a couple of times and it wasn't bad at all. A bit pricey but the people were awesome and were quick to help when we had a electrical problem at the pedestal. There's a decent walking trail there as well. Personally, a one star review for that place is just not fair. Great video!
We stayed at the Toledo North KOA in Monroe County this past summer and hated it lol 😂 We featured it on one of our videos. Y’all were blessed to stay there at a time it wasn’t busy - it was so packed when we stayed there! The other Toledo KOA (Stony Ridge) is even worse than the Monroe one as far as very poorly kept up. We are from Ohio so it was so awesome to see y’all camping in our great state and featuring it on a Wild RV Life video! We love watching you guys!!!! Hope you guys come back to our area and try some of our gorgeous state parks 😊
WOW!!! Wish I would have known you all were in my back yard. The Monroe KOA is 3 miles from my house and was the first spot we took our new Jayco. I agree, it's a dump. We were there last year after they drained their pond that was responsible for at least one drowning per year.
We went and looked it up. The Lakeshore Resort and Campground in Oelwein, IA had a LOT of bad reviews, but it was one of the best we ever stayed at. Maybe the best for those who work during the week.
I've never had a bad stay at a KOA. They have all been clean and friendly. The next time you are in MI I can direct you to a terrible location near Midland Michigan that will make the top 5 for sure!
Great video!!! We really enjoyed checking out all the RV parks! We tend to book KOA's also! Palm Springs one is definitely a 1 star campground! Wouldn't go there again!
A campground can be bad if it is overcrowded and staff can’t keep up with the cleaning. They may be short staffed. The weather may be bad which affects your experience. There may be barking dogs, Smokey fires, late parties which can all affect ratings. So can’t always rely on reviews. Good program!
We would agree that some of our worst campgrounds we have been of the last 100 or so campgrounds have been some KOAs. They weren't that bad, but a lot worse than others we have been to. But we also been to some really nice KOAs, some that would rank in our top 10. They have the most variety for sure. 🐾🐾
We stayed at the Fort Mills KOA. It is a great campground with awesome staff. It always seems to be that there are disrespectful campers. Those are the ones that get themselves in trouble for doing things wrong.
Our worst was a KOA in Golden, CO. The pool was out of commission. Hot tub yucky. Our fire pit literally fell apart when we touched it. The bathrooms were, let’s just say my hubby preferred our puny camper shower. The dumpster was overflowing so badly. We RV lots. That was our never again.

Great video 😂 unique & as always, entertaining. If you want to check out a real dump try the Detroit/Ann Arbor KOA 🥴 it was a shit hole, mud, dust, noise, golf carts zooming & kicking up dust….. we love you guys !
Hey there, you two are the best!! My husband and I stayed at the Monroe KOA and though it was Memorial Day weekend and it was sold out, we had the best time and no complaints!! The snack shack had the best burgers 😊
Where's the leaf blower crew on that putt putt course? Craig should've worn his lucky Salmon hat, apparently at the pool table also 🤣 Where's the coordination Craig?
At the really deluxe parks, room service comes around and leaves you a complimentary drug platter every afternoon. No need to buy them, just remember you can always ask for seconds on the house.
Thanks for reviewing both the Charlotte KOA and Candy Hill. They're both on my list of campground to stay at. Especially the Charlotte KOA as it's on the way to FL where my daughter lives.
I believe you could have a bad time at any campground based on when you book. If your a weekend camper and book a holiday weekend it's going to be more chaotic and a better chance of something going wrong. We have had some experiences that were unpleasant but most of the time the park will do there best to try. Great video and keep up the great content.
This is the first time I watched your channel and now I want a putt-butt t-shirt with the pretty pupper on it, just sitting on the golf course with a putter.
I'm going to leave this notation or comment before I get to the end because it's the morning after the storm and you're sitting at your Deluxe RV site maybe people are just entitled or loud and obnoxious and want everything just handed to them on a golden platter maybe they have like a hundred kids running around being absolute buffoons and that's why they had to leave one star reviews because you guys conducted yourselves with dignity and she had others with respect and usually get what you put out there you know what I mean I have so much admiration respect for the both of you and I love you're joking around in your sense of humor May the Lord Jesus just continue to keep you both safe and you're too beautiful dogs❤
At the Pittsburgh South/Washington KOA you did camp in the new area that was new nearly 5 years ago. I stayed in the old section in my Class A. You couldn’t open outdoor storage compartments because of I unlevel ground. It’s definitely hard to get to and the owners are not very accommodating.
Hi Craig, we enjoy all your videos. You guys are the inspiration for us. We are planning next year for a Class C or B. We are nurses, and we want to travel. I want to know where you are storing all the videos? I have lots of videos to upload from Google Play, but my computer doesn't have too much space. Also, I am using capcut for editing. That's why I need to download it.
This is really a unique video I really enjoyed it. Haven't seen anything like this anywhere with any of the Rv youtubers. Great job, guys. Do it again, do it again. We love it.
AGREED!
You two come up with the BEST ideas. Great video.
I wonder if the folks who write the one star reviews fall into one of three buckets. 1) They're not happy unless they are complaining. 2) New to RV'ing and have unrealistic expectations. 3) Only stayed at those high end luxury RV resorts that only allow Class A's. all 3

Putt Butt! 😂😂 I'll never think of the game any other way now, thanks! 😂😂
Agreed! We hate the site lock and all the other "fees"!!! 🙃
I know!!
This is a great video. Glad you had a good stay at Candy Hill in Winchester. We were kicked out because our kids were to noisy playing basketball with other kids after lunch. The owner was very rude. Should have gone to Sterling State Park in Monroe. Right on Lake Erie! Beautiful!!
Come on 5MPH speed limit. No wonder the kids got in trouble. No Running, Bike riding and for some people no walking. LOL Great Video!!!😁
What a fun premise for your video this week! It showed that you can have a good time almost anywhere. I think being in the shoulder season helped these parks as well.
You both make me laugh. I’m glad you’re having fun. Thank you for all your wonderful videos.

What great content and humorous take on reviews which always need to be taken with a grain of salt. Love your video!

You should do this review video again in peak summer.
One of the funniest lines to come from you two - Putt butt for golf, had me laughing for several minutes! I want to combine it with another channel fav, "Let-er Rip!" Great series kids! And thanks for sharing!

Des Moines West KOA at Adel, Iowa is my fave ❤
My favorite KOA is Santacruz Monterey Bay KOA❤ was blessed to live there,Beautiful pool and hot tub and only a mile from the beach🎉
We're watching this one now! George and I can't wait to meet you next week !!!!
We are from Massachusetts & have stayed at Candy Hill multiple times. Very surprised at the bad reviews, they have always been very friendly & accommodating to us.

That was a fun video and a great premise, to tackle the poorly rated campgrounds. Great idea and a great video. Keep it up
Enjoyed the video. Those negative comments could have been during prime months when each of the campgrounds were really full.
The Ryan Trahan of RVers 🤣 Love it!!
Lol yes!! This was definitely inspired by his videos 😆 he does such a good job with them
@@wildrvlife Ryan is amazing! I can't wait to watch the rest of this video, Safe travels!
You’re much more adventurous than us, of course we’re also a bit older and more cautious. If I read those reviews I’d be looking for another campground. You put the finishing touches on my Sundays….church, DD, then Craig & Victoria. Traveling mercies 🙏🏻❤️
the entrance to the second RV park definitely had us feeling a little more adventurous than we wanted to be LOL. thank you for watching!
Love the bad-campground-review review format! Really enjoyed it. I vote for more like it!
Axe throwing was Hilarious. Cool setup though. Victoria 2. Craig 1. Overall. 😂
So glad you reviewed the Pittsburg KOA. It WAS going to be one of our overnights on our way down to Florida. But the roads in just are not worth the stress for one night. We are 13’6” high and 42’long. Love watching you two.

Thank you so much!
We like KOA’s. We stayed at Gatlinburg East and they were fabulous!! Such sweet people at the KOA and a beautiful park.
OMGGGG!!! That Pittsburg KOA road to get there and through the tunnel of trees was CRAZY!!!
I was having secondhand stress retaking the route with y’all! 🫣
What a great idea for a video and so much fun to watch.
Totally awesome enjoyed the anticipation 😊
Great, fun video! 😂. Will never be able to play miniature golf again without thinking about Putt-Butt!
The KOA in Pittsburgh is close to us. We've stayed there a couple of times and it wasn't bad at all. I can’t believe you guys were in Caseville!!! Practically my back yard! Ugh so wish I would’ve known 😞bummer… Glad you had fun kite surfing! 😊
I learn so much from your videos and if anyone needs to learn how to have a five star time this is the video for you.
Loved it! Using humor to make a really good point, well done!
Love this video! I had a 5 star time watching it!

Great Episode!… They all look ok. Prices not bad.. Keep’m coming kids.
Great video, thanks for all the fun you two share each week. Keep up the amazing content.

Great video!! Y'all are traveling on the shoulder season. I would tend to think that these campgrounds would be worse during the peak or busy season.
Excellent or 5star episode👍👍👍
Loved this concept and I admit attitude makes a big difference. Now I am sure at high season there could be more issues as to site assignments.
Wow. Great video. We also stayed at Candy Hill 2 years ago. We had a neighbor who had a pet fox. 🦊. lol. Very small and road was a bit loud.
Washington, PA!!!!
Ie both and raised there out in the countryside. Wonderful people! Lots of hills!
What a fun video!! Not maybe for you guys, but we had fun watching it. 🤣🤣
hahah we actually did end up having a good time! Besides the costs, lol, most places were more expensive than what we typically like to pay
Thanks guys that was fun ❤ Safe travels
Very interesting. Certainly nothing wrong with those visits anyway. Continued safe travels......
You guys are the bomb !! Just love watching you two !!
A fun theme! Thanks. I enjoyed coming along.
Awesome, thanks for putting this together!
Great video as always Thank you for sharing:)
Loved this video! Thanks. Gives good advice.
glad you enjoyed it!
Great video! We too have an Aussie, Abby, she has so many similarities to Maverick, especially when you guys are traveling in the truck!
We have stayed at two of these campgrounds. What I remember about the Toledo one was the highway before you exited to go to the campground was full of potholes. We stopped there on our way to Michigan and it was a packed holiday weekend but we had a nice patio site. No 1 star experience for us. I also remember the confusion getting to the Pittsburgh campground but they had put a warning messages in the email about not following GPS and to follow their directions. It was still as you experienced. We stayed there twice on our way to and from DC. We left our surge suppressor plugged in on the pedestal but they were nice enough to hold it for us for our return trip. Both our stays were pleasant. We have stopped staying at KOA’s as their prices have generally skyrocketed and I hate that you have to pay to pick your site.
You need to fix the dings in your board! I used to work at the factory where they make the JC brand. now I'm just cruzing Florida seeing if it's really that hot and humid in summer. Durban South Africa is worse.
You two are really good film makers.
My wife called them sand bars, most golfers call them sand traps 😅😅😂
You guys are soooo positive! Love your videos! This was an amazing video and very informative…
Definitely need some maintenance work done around there!!
Great video 😂 unique & as always, entertaining. If you want to check out a real dump try the Detroit/Ann Arbor KOA 🥴 it was a shit hole, mud, dust, noise, golf carts zooming & kicking up dust….. we love you guys !
I'm calling it "putt-butt" from now on. Thanks Victoria! LOL
I move to officially rename it also
At 8:00, there’s proof that your rig is haunted! The light in the water bay just turns on all by itself!!! Just in time for Halloween! 😂
Hey there, you two are the best!! My husband and I stayed at the Monroe KOA and though it was Memorial Day weekend and it was sold out, we had the best time and no complaints!! The snack shack had the best burgers 😊
Putt butt is my favourite outdoor activity on a nice sunny afternoon 😂
Where's the leaf blower crew on that putt putt course? Craig should've worn his lucky Salmon hat, apparently at the pool table also 🤣 Where's the coordination Craig?
I loved seeing Candy Hill in Winchester. I have never stayed there but I grew up just down the road from there in the next county.
At the really deluxe parks, room service comes around and leaves you a complimentary drug platter every afternoon. No need to buy them, just remember you can always ask for seconds on the house.
One of your best video, we love to watch you guys
Thanks for reviewing both the Charlotte KOA and Candy Hill. They're both on my list of campground to stay at. Especially the Charlotte KOA as it's on the way to FL where my daughter lives.
I believe you could have a bad time at any campground based on when you book. If your a weekend camper and book a holiday weekend it's going to be more chaotic and a better chance of something going wrong. We have had some experiences that were unpleasant but most of the time the park will do there best to try. Great video and keep up the great content.
yall guys have all the fun .....
Big plans? More than Put Butt? Can't wait!! BTW, yes it's snowing in Alaska now. Love the sense of humor, Can't wait for next week.
Love your videos. Always positive
What a fun video! Thank you for sharing!!!
Great video! Thanks!
We stayed at the Charlotte - Ft Mill KOA several years ago, and it was very nice, no complaints.
Many years ago we didn't like KOAs. In the last few years we had very nice KOAs. 😊 I think they were Holidays.
I love this video!! Keep truckin!!
