Hi Zee, love your reviews but I think the camera angle on this one prohibited clear view of the cards you were pointing at. Maybe a straight top down view would work so we could easily see the face of the cards?
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. Something about this game just clicks with me, and I'm excited to try this out and see what new combos/strategies it adds.
I do work in printing, and yes, exact color matching between runs is near impossible at times. Can be very time consuming and expensive considering the effort that goes into the process. Thankfully there are sleeves with color backs that I'll probably invest in once I get this expansion.
Excellent review Zee, just such a great format all-around. As for the coloring of the cards. I'm suprised to hear that. After the Inis expansion I'm very sensitive to that, even went on a big rant on BGG about that. I haven't heard it being an issue with this expension though. I just took out my copy of the expension and I really can't tell the difference in natural sunlight at all. I tried comparing and I tried shuffling and trying to pick them out. Just 0 issues for me. Of course maybe I got lucky, but that is my take.
@@nicolasguay7570 Yep, one of the reasons I use medium sleeves is because premium/thick sleeves often don't fit or make the deck too thick to shuffle. Sleeve Kings is my go-to brand at the moment.
The infuser seems OP, if I can spend any amount of resources and place them on any component I can instantly place 10 essences on a place of power and get a turn 3 win.
Hey team, I really enjoy the reviews. Want to throw in my two cents on a little thing. Let me qualify this by saying I haven’t heard from the game designer about his intent. But based on my exposure to Latin and the designer’s previous work, I believe “res” is pronounced just like “race” (as in “for the galaxy”). So the title is kind of a play on/continuation of his work. That’s all for now. Carry on, carry on.
What I really dislike about this game is that it feels like punching a boxing bag a thousand times only for it to move a millimeter. I’m really missing the escalation towards the end. The game is so slow and it really is a game of moving a thousand inches instead of taking big steps.
How many times did you play it? Good players can win in 3-4 rounds. It’s a fast, explosive game with a tense and often sudden ending when you understand how to play efficiently.
Sorry but what are you even talking about? 4-5 round games are very common. And the amount of resources / points you get is night and day between the start and the end. IEven before this expension it was pretty common to end at 15 VP's. Overshooting the finish line by a full 50%. What games are you comparing it with? Race for the galaxy or something? Where I would say RftG just has an amazingly high pace.
Yeah, unfortunately I have to agree with everyone else on this. I think the combos just aren't clicking for you. People that have played it several times cam find the combos and explode in just a handful of turns

Okay this is the second video Zee Garcia mentions his own review of Res Arcana, but I can’t find it anywhere. Just Tom Vasel’s.
This game continues to be my favorite of all time. So excited to try this!
For me too

I'm always down to play Res Arcana and this just makes it better without too many rules overhead
I have been waiting for this review since the launch in Europe in november. Glad to hear that you love it Zee.
Still waiting for mine to arrive. Looking forward to playing this a lot during the holidays.

This is the most played game of my collection. It is soooo good and quick at 2 players
Great video! Love the 13 points and game flow. Can't wait to play!!
Oops forgot to edit out a clip from the latest Unmatched review @8:33.
For people wondering: Yes, everything will fit in the base game box, both expansions.
Mine is sleeved and still fits. Really nice design.
Does not fit with thicker sleeves. (I used Katana sleeves)

the scaling was in the manual of the other expansion, so the aid is great to have.
How well does playing the game with both expansions at the same time ?
13 minute mark. Yes it works fine.
He literally mentioned it.
Glad to know. I love Res Arcana.
Cant even find a place to preorder it. Would love to have it.
Do the expansions all fit in the base box?
Yes.
One of mages seems super powerful !!! Exchange a blue to one gold!!!!??? What the...?

It’s one at a time
@@Skippan makes sense
Just pre order it .
I think you explained the pearl bed wrong. each pearl on it is worth 2 points and thats it.
This is incorrect. Zee explained this scoring correctly.
@@ptlehmann Ah the pearls are still worth a victory point. I thought he spoke just about the place of power.
Thanks for the clarification.

Definitely not pronounced Race. It’s Rezz.

This game escalates so quickly, I'm not sure what you're talking about
Play more games and you'll be surprised how fast the games goes by

You like it even better than the first expansion, yet gave them the exact same score...
