My favorite video to make! Test drive day!!!
Had to use my Bose headphones just to hear the engine. Miss my father’s 78 300D.
I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos thank you for watching.
I am amazed the horse hair seat cushions are solid........ That year had horse hair I think....... I had a 76 300d, 77 300sd and still have a 78 300d (front corner damage), 87 300td (needs oil pan), 87 190d turbo (needs interior refurb), and a 91 350 sdl (regular driver) 91 350 sdl (donor). Really jealous of the test drive. Thanks!
They stopped using horse hair in the late 60s early 70s. The 123 cars had coconut fibers mixed with resin.
THNX for the ride 🤠
😎👊👍
Beautiful! Very cool ride.
Thank you. I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos.
Awesome video. Awesome 300!

The mileages keep getting lower. I feel like one day i'll click on your video and it's gonna be you in front of the production line and be like "look guys, i found a 0 mile w123"
Hahaha now that's funny
On ramps arent good for 0-60 times. You need to be on a perfectly flat surface and at a complete stop. Makes a huge differenc on the ramp.
I completely understand that but we're just doing some simple test drive videos and this is the route that I take. Not really going for exact time here. This just gives a real world test example for people.
Fair enough.
I love this car but sadly in Indonesia this car 300D don't exist
😔
I have 300E 1986, but diesel for me is fun to driver @@woodsandbarclay
Do you only deal in Turbodiesels, John? It seems like I have never seen an N/A 300D on your channel. Thoughts on the two?
I have done an NA 300CD. But yes you are correct, 99% of the cars are turbo diesel. Those cars are just better performing cars for modern traffic.
I’m in cartersville ga. What part of Ga are you located ?
I grew up in Rome very close to you but now I'm in Roswell.
@@woodsandbarclay oh cool. Well my mom is a berry. I was born there. I have owned a slew of W123’s over the years. The best one I had was an 85 was 63,000 miles in diamond blue I bought it from a retired engineer in Midtown. Old Georgia Tech grad. Sold me that car for $4900 I think it was 2005. it needed no work and after about a year I threw it on eBay and got 13,800 I believe. I could hang out at your shop and talk old Mercedes’ diesel all day long
