Gary Stewart and Eddie Rabbit where the two best singers every lived. They where not given their stardom until they left us for greener pastures. Hall of Fame winners indeed. Country Music is not the same and never will be again.
this ole boy could really belt one out...played this a million times while under the influence some years back..had not heard it for some time..ha ha old albums got alcohol stains fumbling finger scratches a plenty...think i'll try and find a cd..thanks very much for posting and refreshing my burnt out brain. peace Dennis
Gary Stewart is one of my all time favorite country music artists! He was far ahead of his time and ahead of other artists of the same time period! His music still sounds modern even in todays far out country music .
❤❤I love Gary Stewart he had a quiver in his voice that made his music magic. THE Honky Tonk King. He was a legend in his own time,he will never be forgotten. I sure miss you.😢❤❤❤
What a song and voice and country..i won't even listen to, today's country..it is either rap or rock...wow, how i miss him. I was in 2nd grade but i still remember all his music.
That CD live at Billy Bobs ..is amazing ...his voice is not at its best but it sounds like a master ...leaving his final statement ....and what a statement it is ..Put him in the Country hall of fame or Shut it down !!!!
One of the greatest honky tonk singers of them all. Gave Jerry Lee a run for his money on the honky tonk piano. My go to guy for great country music back then. Little Junior is my favorite album of Gary's. Left us way too soon. They don't make music like that anymore, folks.
I absolutely love to hear and watch him sing. He puts his heart and everything into it. Love that man. His songs are what I need to hear when I get to thinking about the one I loved so much and who is not here any more. Death is a hard thing to take.
Amen! I am more of a rocker but I do like the more traditional country. Most of country music today is a joke. They want to attract the younger audience that buys cds and most of them like the pop sounding country.
Honky Tonk Treasure here and talent by the boat loads. One of a kind, distinct and easily recognizable voice. It's a goddam shame that whatever is out there today calls itself country music. I much prefer this and all my heroes of the past to listen to. From an era when music meant something to those singing and performing it, with passion, emotion and pure talent.
My dad told me; "Just being a man ain't nothing, heck anyone could do that", "You have to recognized for something". Then it will speak for your standards.
Now that's country.....It's a damn shame he's gone.Brings back memories ,when couples dressed up and filled the Texas dance halls. You wouldn't dream of going to a club that didn't have a live band. Videos ruined country music...you have to be a "Hollywood Hunk" to make it these days.
IMHO Gary Stewart should be in the Country Music Hall Of Fame.
Some of the best music ever. Best drinking sounds around.
This man should be in the hall of fame
You can always tell when a singer has lived the song they're singing.
CMA never gave this Talented Man the credit he deserved
For real
They usually dont.
Only the real folks realize this.
yep
Gary was too real. He was his own man with his own voice, not a "brand". I've been listening to him every day lately.
Gary Stewart , one of the BEST !
Wish I Had A Dollar For Every Beer I've Drank Listenin' To Gary.
He Was The Best.
Are you implying you'd be "loaded?" I couldn't resist the pun. Haha.
Good country is soul music. What a tune.
He just blows me away with his voice! He was one extremely talented man. My favorite Country singer of all time. Rest in Peace Sir Gary Stewart.
We use to ride the back roads playing Gary all night long. True talent there

his on air performances were so restrictive, he held back the true depth of emotion he used in concert.
Suggestions on good live footage?
What a treasure
some people are blessed with talents, it‘s a shame they don‘t get the credit they deserve for their efforts.
Awsome. We used to go see him at Southern Junction every time he was in town.
Why is he not in the Hall of Fame????
Yeah, that song somewhat describes my life too.
We miss this down around Lake Okeechobee. I will drink a beer in his honor.
Best honky tonk artist of all time
