Hey I commented on the first video of yours I stumbled across asking about this exact thing! Guess I should have looked through all your videos before asking. Awesome, thorough and clear tutorial/info! Very helpful. I love how to explained where the muscles are, what they connect to and why that can cause pain specific to other areas of your body. And how to provided self test methods to be sure this is what we are needing work on. Thank you!;
Thank you for this Dr Joe! I already have your Tai Chi Ball and will give these hip flexor workouts a try. Working to untighten from way too much sitting.
@@OcraMedHealth Thanks for the reply, Doc. When there is an issue with the TFL going on, do you find that it's most often due to TFL shortening or tightness, & it just needs to be stretched,... or TFL weakness, & it just needs to be strengthened?
The TFL isn't a muscle so it can't be strengthened. It's a large piece of fascia. It can build up fascial adhesion which creates restriction. It then requires fascial release work. Good luck!
Had this problem all my life due to disability, but especially the last 2 years. Definitely going to try these. Thanks doc! 👌

Hi Dr. Joe. Is the TFL a hip flexor muscle, too?
It does assist in hip flexion.
