Without any bias, Dave is spot on as a recommendation. I recently purchased this very product for a very faded plastic trim on the family's 2019 mini. The black plastic trim looks new. Easy to apply and a little goes a long way. My new go to.....and thanks to Elliot at my car cleaning in Newcastle upon Tyne for this choice too 👍
very good product, got it with the orig mystery box before it went public this time last year and did some before and after pics for the Facebook IW customer channel. its all I use now for exterior plastics, 2 coats. Lasts for me about 3 months in north Scotland with a daily driver.
No longer have black trim or bumpers but when I previously did, I used to use armor all which gave a nice finish.
i have this and the turtle wax graphene trim restorer. i find the turtle wax lasts abit longer but dies ya fingers black so gloves are a must lol , the infinity way is easier apply and doesnt die everything black .......both good to be honest just different , i had the gtechnic c4 ..... didnt last 2 years it lasted about 6 months and started to fade but it was on my daily driver throughout the crappy uk winter month so traffic film , salt ect probably degraded it faster than if used on ya weekend car ..... just my experience and 10 cent ..... good vid keep up the good work man .
Looks like a great product. I've only recently bought a different car, Honda crv. The bumpers and trims looked a little tired so I did some googling as you do and ended up with Trimcoat made by Ceracoat. Unbelievable finish!
Same as this one it's sposed to last yrs or 200 washed, but you apply it using the wipes what are provided in the 10 sachets you get. I used 5 on the car, and although I thought it may be a nightmare to put on, it was really easy. You can be quite accurate with them wipes.
Thanks for the vid as always.
Thanks Dave just ordered some for my wife …… her bumpers need this 👍
Can you post pics of your wife's bumpers?
I’ve used this in my business, I find it more for a weekend warrior, or someone just using it at home. It does take a few coats to get them decent and when you’re working in a time frame it’s not the best solution as it does take 20 mins or so to completely dry before you can apply another coat.
I’ve used plastic coat since it was released in their mystery box, always does a great job and is very easy to apply
I get a good 4 months or so still fairly dark and beading well. but it diminishes slowly over time so it’s not easy to gauge as I forget about it. The bottle lasts ages though.
I’d be weary of a £3 ceramic from Ali express 🤣 replacing damaged plastics would be more expensive!
Solution finish every time dave if trim is prepped right first coat will last between 6 and 8 months but I tend to retreat at around 1 month then every time I treat ill get over 12 months plus its so easy to use and they have one for grey trim as well called grey fusion...
Yep….another vote for Solution Finish, still the best on the market, used correctly, nothing comes close 👍👌🇮🇲
How are you prepping it? Do you use isopropyl, if so what strength? Cheers
Got mine today! Looking forward to tarting up my mini! 👌🏻👍🏻
Once again another fantastic and informative video Dave.
Cheers Mark
Finally got around to using this, it’s absolutely amazing 👍🏻
Nice one hopefully the rain holds off
I always use the Renew from Bear Car Care, it's a nice, easy to use, spray dressing that just makes plastic surfaces darker and not shiny.
Theres a time and a place i really like this product dave been using it since launch, also garage therapy tyre serum as it penitrates the plastics, great video
Ceramic armor wipes u.s.a are the best hands down , mine last a year plus easy .
I’d love to see a video on keeping black cars looking great! I clean my car myself weekly - I really enjoy it, gets me outside (usually on a Sunday) and I love applying all the products to keep her looking shiny, ready for pictures and monitoring for any chips that need attention. However I notice after one drive it’s noticeably dirty… any tips on keeping it cleaner would be appreciated! I use both spray wax and spray ceramic sealant, usually wash it with water but sometimes waterless if it’s not too bad😃
Solution finish. It’s the king.
I'll give that a look
@@epicautomotivedetailing affordable too. Long lasting apparently between 6-8 months in the real world but it can be finicky to apply in the sense that it’s horrible to get over hands. No problem for a pro like you in a studio but needs a little planning and thinking through like most things, for the weekend warrior like myself. Solid video btw. Always nice to open RUclips and see new content from you Dave.
Thank you for the video Dave. Looks like a pretty decent product, so will give it a try. 👍
Cheers Karl yeah it's mega. Gets some nice water beading effects too
Have you ever done a headlight restoration? Do you have tips for that or recommended products? Would you do a "how to..." video? Thank you.
Will make a video 🙏
Gtechniq C4 worth a try
Your Detailing Product... Garage tour please Love From India🇮🇳 ❤🙏🏻
Sure thing
What about the front and rear painted bumpers of a car and painted trim to match the rest of the car
Great videos. Can you make one for black piano/ vinyls?
This looks very interesting stuff
Great video as always. Might give this product a go
Cheers Dave
Hi Dave totally different subject but are you still doing your epic shampoo and citrus pre wash.great channel thx Sean
I use that, It lasts about 2-4 weeks so not really long enough but have never found anything better
odd, i get up to 3 months on my daily driver, wee bit less over winter. i find its all in the prep and at least 2 coats.
lol for those of us that do wash and valet our cars ourselves - we would love a long lasting trim dressing 🤣👌😀
G techniq so far is one of the most durable but it's one of those things that many companies can't make long term. Turtle Wax graphene was ok but only on some surfaces which was weird so I couldn't get on with that one
Hmmm, nice thumbnail shot there matey :) Fun fact, the designer of this mini cooper modelled the wing mirror caps ,your fondling with that sponge, on a part of his wifes anatomy :) Also the exhaust is beer can shaped as it was modelled from clay and they forgot to put in an exhaust, so the designer whittled down a beer can and stuck it on.
What about for the interior plastics ? Does this do the job or would you recommend a different product ? Thanks in advance
I just use an interior detailer most of the time, I wouldn't dress any plastics inside, if it gets hot you'll get off gassing and it would look patchy
Thank you so much for your reply Dave ... I am looking to start with YUM interior as you recommended it as an all around interior cleaner ... My car was an ex disability car so at the back there are some scuffs on the plastic and it looks a bit faded due to have a wheel chair at the back an never a parcel shelf ... I will try Yum and see if brings it a bit back that black colour or if hides a bit the marks .. many thanks
@@Carlos_Teixeira_Drums yum interior is good enough as a standalone product, cleans and leaves a nice finish 👌
Wait.. are you not a mobile car cleaner anymore??
Another vote here for Solution Finish. Just make sure to use gloves. It dyes everything black!
Nice I'll try that
Yeah I tried that Solution Finish and yes it does dye it black but eventually it went back to grey
@@nick7602 I'm testing now to see how long it lasts. I don't know of any of these products that are permanent. (Even though they all claim to be "permanent" fixes.)
Black dye in trims is bad long term, best to restore the natural finish
Not metal but.
Dave, what about trim that has that raised bumps. Almost like dimples - (its meant)
Hi Dave! Quick question, you've recommended in the past to offer a maintenance plan for wealthy clients that want their car cleaned on a regular basis. For this offer, would you recommend offering it as a once-off purchase or to use a subscription model where the client becomes a member and gets their car cleaned every two weeks and pays a monthly subscription fee?
To be honest nobody likes subscription models especially at a time when everyone is trying to cut back. I try to encourage them "look no pressure we'll keep in touch method" then I used to just drop a text or call few days before. They never said no
@@epicautomotivedetailing I appreciate the reply, you're a legend! And would you recommend that I charge my clients before I deliver my services or only after?
Please review P&S and DIY detail products! Also DIY detail rinseless! That’s what I use for all my cleans, no more foam 😅
Love your videos 😁 what are you using to apply the trim dressing
Infinity wax
@@epicautomotivedetailing cheers for the reply mate, I meant to say what type of sponge is that your using. Thanks again, keep up the great content ❤️
@@cocoplops4982I’m also interested to know this as it looks perfect for the job
Hi I have a problem with window trim which have gone from black to silver grey. I have tried cleaning with all sorts of products and using trim gel to restore the colour but nothing seems to work. Do
you have any recommendations to help restore them back to their original finish.
I want to know this too !!
Hi sir I’ve used demon spray and it damaged my numper would you know why this could happen sir.
Dave-new to your vids! How does this compare to Cerakote which I have used and find to be the best (first time seeing pastic coat) compared to what is offered.
Hi mate is there a way I can get in touch with you to ask some questions and get some advice, thanks.
Hiw can I order? I'm in the states.
Brayt R1 is excellent for trim restoration
Not heard of that but will look into it
Any idea how it compares to Koch PSS?
Pretty sure John from Forensic Detailing recommends Solution Finish too
Unfortunately I've dreaded faded wiper arms... respray ONLY isn't it...🤒
Forever Black...Bumper and Trim...Amazon..that's the Best
Try infinity wax trim restorer 👌👌
Hi. Where do i find the name of the product please.
Link should be in description 🙏
Nothing beats C4
Bowden’s own have a product called “Mr Black” which works quite differently. Lasts a very long time. Might not be what people want. 😬
Not heard of that but will take a look
Wing mirror... do you mean door mirror 🤔😁
Tempting
Poorboys everlasting trim coating is the best for longevity, it’s a ceramic trim coating that lasts for years. Ive used it on my car and still looks like new a year after i applied it.
FUN FACT: Olive oil removes road tar in seconds.
So, C4 "PERMANENT Trim Restorer" isn't permanent? I'm surprised the name has stuck...😮
It's back2black, just reinvented for the modern times
What happened to your own product line?
Will explain soon. Turns out trying to sell car cleaning products was just not worth the agro for me
