    In the cooler and colder months, I'll just put on a second layer of moisturizer. I typically do my nighttime skincare routine about 2 hours before bedtime, and around half and hour before hitting the pillow I'll put on my second layer. Even another layer of eye cream if needed.

    I live in Denmark where the months of fall are pretty cold and windy. I’ve found that the Illiyoon cream does wonders for keeping my skin barrier healthy🤩 Thank you so much Kelly for recommending this cream🙏 I have seen a major improvement on my skin in the last year or so - partly because of your amazing recommendations😊 Keep up the good work! It’s really helpful for people like me with sensitive skin

    Hi Kelly! Your videos, as always, are so thoughtful, detailed, and balanced. Just wanted to ask since you said that tranexamic acid is your go-to for brightening, how does it compare to alpha arbutin in your experience? I always confuse the two and it seems like people use them for the same purpose. Thank you!

    I think the only thing I do as it gets colder is start using milkier toners. The rest of my routine can work pretty much year round.

    Omg did i see the pyunkang yul black tea? Im excited for your review of those products. I just got a sample of it few months ago when i purchased the pyunkang essence toner. I would say its luxury. The toner is like gello type but it burst in water hydration on skin. The serum is like the toner but its more moisturizing. The cream is thick like you said. The eye cream is a dream eye cream

    In the fall to mid winter, I was really struggling with Tret. 1) Even the smallest contact with my lips caused full blown dryness and irritation for days and 2) no matter how much propolis/ centella and barrier care I used, my face would get so itchy over night that I would subconscious scratch my face and wake up with scratches. This has happened at least 12 times this season and I’ve resorted to cutting my nails really short and wearing gloves/socks on my hands when going to bed. Yes, my husband thinks I’m crazy💁🏾‍♀️
    On another note, any chance you could do a This or That episode?🙏🏾

      Oh my gosh I hope you have figured out how to calm the itch (urea is a good ingredient for this). Seasonal changes can wreck havoc sometimes!

    Hi Kelly I have very dry skin and it's always dry even in the Spring or Summer. When it's more humid I use lighter layers and actual face creams, but in the colder months I often have to use a really rich/buttery cream often aimed at body skin. I used a lot of toners and essences in the Summer in multiple layers and then sealed those in with my serums and a lighter cream texture (plus spf of course). Here in Scotland we've actually had quite a mild September until this week when temperatures have dropped. I'm back to my two favourites:
    the paula's choice clinical ultra rich moisturiser for during the day - a rich buttery texture, yet light enough on me to sink in allowing for application of spf
    the paula's choice soothing body butter for at night - richer than the face version and works far better for me overnight, although it does sink in within around 20 minutes and keeps my skin soft/comfortable overnight.
    Obviously i'm still using toners, essences and serums/treatments with these, but I need a rich/buttery cream in the colder weather. I will use a balm on top during the dead of Winter overnight if necessary, but I'm not quite there yet. Best wishes.

      I really love your dry skin tips, often keep them in the back of mind for my winter skin! We are having a similarly mild September here in Wisconsin too, oddly warm but seems to be cooling off now.

    Hi Kelly, what would you recommend between Community Sixty Six cleanser and Stratia’s Cleansing Milk during Fall/Winter? I have dehydrated/flaky, oily, and acne-prone skin. Living in dry, desert-y Los Angeles. Thank you!

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  Год назад

      I think the community sixty six might be a little more friendly for the oily and acne prone conditions. Stratia is amazing but it's more moisturizing and might feel filmy if you have oily skin.

      I personally like oil underneath moisturizer (feels more soothing imo) but you can absolutely put it on top, it's more a preference thing than a rule.
