Kes was indeed cute even if her character was average. Still, she got Voyager 10,000 light years closer to home and clear out of Borg space so she made her mark on the series. My only regret is that she didn't get to say goodbye to Neelix.....

What a hilarious ride that everyone took. Couldn't stop laughing at B'elanna Torres's face when she said 110%. Nor could I stop laughing at how she said it.
Yeah they completed overacted here and I love it. The angle they shot her is completely overdramatic as well. The “110” has always registered with me too. They wanted the Kes sendoff to be special.
She apparently lost those powers later. In another episode she had used a shuttle to ram into Voyager seeking revenge for being stranded on a desserted planet.. That was one of those "Huh?" WTH is she talking about. At least they geave her a nice exit storyline that lasted a few episodes. Part of the problem is they didn't really know what to do with the character's skill set especially after she broke up with Neelix,
This is a very sad scene to me, since over the years I've warmed more to Kes than I originally did during the show's run. It's also the moment when "Voyager" divorced from its original premise completely, abandoning the Caretaker arc to concentrate on the Borg. It's only now occurred to me how this transition could have been handled more smoothly: if Kes had increased their speed by pushing them into the "underspace" or the Borg's transwarp network, it would have helped the series move right into its Borg Era without feeling disrupted, even allowing for the occasional reference to Kes over the subsequent years.
I didn't have a problem with her hairdo, but she finally started showing her body when it was clear that competition was coming, but by that time it was waaaay too late!!
well they didnt kill off seven. bought the boxset and im on season 4 just watched the gift tonight. on the extras they said they needed to move in a different direction and suppose they had run out of ideas for jennifer lien. altho i admit her transformation was silly. people then often wonder why neelex left voyager well he wanted to stay with his own kind and the federation needed an informer there. but i think the producers always had the shows interest at heart. i think they did a goo job
