[NEW k20A3 RECORD] K20a3 Stock block turbo with 416.62WHP! (18psi)

  • Putz k20a3 eg! The record for a 100% stock block before today was 406.01 on 22 psi by SLOWRSX and now we have broke it with a final number of 416.62 on the car clinic dynojet!

    Nicee , I tuned same setup (motor wise) locked exhaust cam only , it made 465hp at 17-18psi with a bigger turbo , rips for sure

    Always good to see some A3 love!
    Managed 350whp on mine (dyno video on my channel), but I built my head and block. All true to A3 though, including the cams, IM, and rods. Will eventually get mid 400s after I upgrade my fuel system and exhaust.

      @@bighit360 I’m using the CXRacing kit, and the exhaust manifold is their thicker one. Intake manifold is the stock plastic one with the dual runner intact.

    Just so you know, you can use F23 Rods and pistons as they fit and are slightly thicker than the A3 stockers.. But you ca use those for sure

      use to use f23 forged rods in ep3 motors pistons needed some skimming off top to keep piston to deck low

    K20A3 owner here. I'd love to know how many miles that motor last and what breaks 1st! Thinking going NA build but its also my DD.

      So far picked up an RBB manifold & K20A2 cams & looking to get Vtech killer rockers. Have 3" exhaust but stock header right now. If I can get close to 240hp with a good header & Kpro I think it should last as my daily. I'm not going for peak HP #'s but a usable midrange bump that can last on pump gas. Anyone have this setup?

    So the stock crank rods and pistons can handle that much power? So basically i can swap an a2 head and oil pump on my ep3 and boost? With the flimsy a3 rods??

      Because its trash... tq is low, rpm is trash.... you can get 500whp out of any stock none A3. Untouched head,cams...

    Completely stock block? Or you got arp head studs and other minor things? I’m asking because I got type r cams in my a3 and I’m hoping for 400 also .

      23 psi for about 8 to 9 months and running strong! not sure what fuel yost built used?i used e85 im only street tuned so cant forsure say if have or hold or perhaps not even a chance to being close to having it l but i can back up the a3 and it will impress more than you would think? i know i am. so with that im sure it lasted yost built atleast close to a year. mine has and i daily it. just pull the trigger bro do it :)

      You use exhaust rocker arms on both sides from a base model a3 head. Have to clearance them for the bigger vtec lobes

    Man I just recently got a eg hatch with a k20a3 motor, built internals, basically everything they could ever want except for an a2 head or turbo. Is there a turbocharger setup that you would recommend that is a bit more cost effective? I would like to reach at least 300 hp.

      we have made 500 hp on a k20a2 with a ebay log manifold and a ebay 35r !

      Done haha . Rebuilding turbo atm and once get it back on i will find a Dyno . I am interested as I can only base my horse power as who's build is close psi and spec wise and judge off that hahaha. Just view some of my screwing around vids on page starts from some crappy videos of just tickling boost in low rpm trying to tune lol to my f***ing god this is still a a3 right getting there tune LMFAO.       Rpm kills rods, timing can kill rods and pistons.. it's all about a balance of boost and fuel.. maybe a bit of retarded timing.. either way some company needs to start making quality cheap aftermarket rods for the A3, shares the same block as the a2 just internals are different

      Stock parts and stock block are two very different things. I can build a high compression b series motor with type r cams, but it’s not a stock block.
      Props for doing what you did, short block is stock, but if it has cams it’s not all stock.
      How’s it holding up?
