- A visit to Missouri to check out the hometown of Walt Disney . Starting in Kansas City and making my way to Marceline To the original Main Street USA . Some locations Included are Laugh O Gram studios , former homes , hometown museum , dreaming tree and barn .
I am so glad to see someone give coverage to the Disney Kansas City connection. As a KC resident thank you.
Me too ! I am KCMO born , raised and residing so it makes me happy that Adam is giving KC it's due in the Disney story. Yes, Adam we residents do refer to it as KC. GO CHIEFS !
Such an important historical building should be saved and made into a museum.
Hopefully that happens sooner than later Disney!
I am EP Ripleys great granddaughter and love seeing a park named after him thank you for showing that.
As a member of Thank You Walt Disney, thank you for showing the studio again. The building has been saved and is stable. The organization is not a Disney based organization, and is in the process of raising final funds to bring the studio back to life. Thankyouwaltdisney.org has all the information.
Having grown up in a small place not unlike Marceline, and watching every motion picture Walt was ever involved in, I carry memories and a large debt to him. Greatness achieved and remembered, No one is perfect, but Walt came close.
I love Marceline! The Walt Disney Hometown Museum and the properties there are wonderful tributes to Walt Disney! The ladies Kaye and Inez that run the museum are special ladies. Everyone needs to see Marceline and support the museum.
Agreed I love it there
I’m from there I always loved home
I am diabled and find it hard to travel, so thanks for the daily vacation
I love how you and Co-D mesh together, y'all 2 definitely crack me up!! Lol😋
you can't get more middle America than Kansas and Missouri with Disney as a back drop, this is America folks, the quiet serene aspects of country life
I live in Salina Kansas, roughly 4 hours away and had no idea that Walt Disney was from Kansas City. I’ve even been to Disney World twice. Learn something new everyday. Thanks for the Vlog
There is a Disney/Hallmark connection there in Kansas City.
goodoldhol more stuff I didn’t know. Thanks for the info. I just recently learned that the Evel Knievel museum was in Topeka Kansas. And I’m not a sheltered person. I’m a Natural Gas Pipeline welder do traveling is what I do. 😂
Hey Mr Salina.... You really don't know how Disney is closer to you than u think....
tom thomas no sir I’m guessing not
@@bluepill87fah-q98 yes sir.. I don't do facebook... If you can get a hold of Woo.. There is much more to the Disney story..closer to Salina..
I run though this town about three times a week....I am a Locomotive Engineer hired out on the prior Santa Fe railway out of San Bernardino CA. I transferred to Galesburg Illinois in 2003 and my regular run goes from Galesburg to Kansas City and goes right through Marceline Missouri, right past the Walt Disney museum train station....Very nice work ..I love your vids ...
Its a shame the train no longer stops at Marceline. I think more people would visit and it would revitalize the town!
@@VSpectacular I totally agree...I have said this to many of my Conductors I work with...Amtrak stops at Kansas City and the next stop is not until La Plata Missouri and vice versa....It is a long stretch between stations and would greatly benefit riders as well as the town to have a stop at Marceline....I think your local and state representatives could petition Amtrak to stop at Marceline....
Awesome...I watch you everyday on the La Plata virtual rail camera...And Sante Fe Jct...
@@VSpectacular I got of the train there many times in Marceline in the 80s and 90's....It was great...
@@davehughesfarm7983 I didn't know Santa Fe Jct had a cam..Cool... I think there is a cam in Ft Madison Iowa and in Galesburg Illinois....I start out if Galesburg and run through Ft Madison, La Plata Mo, Marceline Mo and onto KC. I used to run out of San Bernardino down mountain grade territory on the Cajon pass , our steepest and longest grade.
KC,Mo...my birthplace 90 years ago on Kensington Avenue...cold January day
I love the sound of a train rolling by. That is the soundtrack of my childhood in the Sheraden section of 1960's Pittsburgh. It's fitting that that plaintive wail is in the background as you visit the childhood home of Walt Disney. Talk about nostalgia overload.
Great vlog Adam, you and Cold Eee nailed it once again.
Yes, it was blowing the crossing signal; perfect
My Granny's house , where I went every summer of my childhood, had a train directly behind it and the sound was overwhelming at first. I got so used to it that it became incredibly comforting. Her next house, where I live now, has train tracks maybe 2 blocks away and it's just as comforting. It's funny how we adapt and even grow to love things like this .
That train goes thru marceline about every 15-20 minutes.
Born and raise in the Kansas City area, was hoping that you would stop by Kansas City in your recent post of traveling. This is a great time this is a great city I hope you had a blast.
I visit Marceline EVERY April. That's my Birthday present to myself. I LOVE Walt Disney.I stood next to the Orginal tree ( while it was a big stump really because it was hit by lighting and dying). And it took an hour to find a spot in the barn to say Thank you to Walt Disney for ALL the magic and memories. I just Love Marceline So Much. And of couse ALL THINGS Disney.
Wow, so interesting. You guys are hitting on all cylinders with these videos.
Adam, you are putting the America in "Americana". Thank-you
Adam! You're the first travel Vlogger that we discovered and still the best! Thanks for sharing your adventures :)
Thanks for watching
Adam's a pioneer of this genre on RUclips!
@@TheDailyWoo Do NYC, NJ, PA,ct the rest of the usa. Then ill be impressed. Also go with josh more.
@@TheDailyWoo keep up good work adam the woo
I could watch anything ( w/ Walt in it or something to do w/ Walt ) Everyday . I wish i could of been Born back in 1910 . ( "Ugh" ) . I love the videos so far Adam & CoD . Be Safe Guys & WE will Catch you down the Road .
Gosh, Adam, you were in my neighborhood! Thanks for covering The Laugh-O-Gram studios as well as Union Station. Hopefully, one day, the studio will be a place folks can visit.
“Never forget.... it was all started by a mouse.”
No it wasnt. It was all started by a Cat named Julius and a little girl named Alice....
"It all started with a mouse!" - Walt Disney...
The mass fame, yes, but not the passion for animation
Awesome video! I made the pilgrimage to Kansas City & Marceline late last year I HIGHLY recommend it to all those who admire Walt Disney. I talked to the nice lady Kaye at the Walt Disney Hometown Museum & she had a few nuggets of Walt himself. Her father was friends with Walt & when he came to visit Marceline he stayed in their house since it was the only house that had air conditioning. Funny enough Walt & his wife stayed in her room! Walt & Roy had her father secretly buy the old Disney property in Marceline with big plans for it but unfortunately Walt passed away. She currently lives in the Disney family house in Marceline where the barn is. The old Laugh-O-Gram building in KC is pretty debilitated these days. Walt's daughter Diane Disney Miller gave the guy who owns the building money to keep it from falling to pieces. It's in a pretty rough area of KC to the point they think a lot of people wouldn't want to visit it. She told me she was trying to talk the owner into moving the building out to Marceline. The orange Mickey flag was a gift from Walt to Marceline & he only allowed it to be flown there & Disneyland. This is why they're allowed to sell it there. The Zurcher building on the right side at 24:10 is the inspiration for Coke Corner at Disneyland. We stayed in the same room as you guys when we were there! It was pretty cool & I still remember being up half the night from the freight train blowing its horn. Haha …thanks for the vid Adam it brought back a lot of good memories!
Cool video! I hope they restore that building and turn it into a museum.
I have just watched your July 2023 vlog of Marceline. I immediately came and found your old vlog February 2020. I love to see the then and now. Your visit inside the Uptown Theatre blew my mind. The biggest comparison is how much weight you have lost since February 2020 ❤
This one got me. Many teary eyed moments. Great video man
I grew up in Marceline It was a great place to live in the 80’s I left in 95 to start my life Away from home It’s always nice to see stories about the town
Adam and Co-D are a stellar combo.
A-Dam & Co-D :)
Did our hearts good to hear the robin singing in your Walt video....Spring must be coming~ Thanks for the video Adam~Waves from Michigan
You'd think Disney with all its billions would be able to help restore the place their founder started in.
True dat
Both the Laugh-a-gram office and the Disney House are in rough parts of KC, which is probably why renovation ceased.
Community projects like this are complicated. While the Disney company could throw a lot of money into it, it takes the people involved with the community to actually make it happen. You need the skills to actually build it, run it, and work with the people and the bureaucracy of the city. Museums are not easy things to do, unfortunately.
It's now all about profits and shareholder value added. Mickey sez "Where's the green $$$ cheese?"
@@mikelouis9389 no green for the Mouse... mouse doesn't care
25:25 that was a perfectly timed train horn
I love the respectfully silent videography and true life ambient sounds. The intelligent, educational, and funny commentary is also great! Your insights and personal experience really add to your videos and I'm truly grateful that I get to see this because I'll probably never go, myself. Thanks for what you do! 💖🔥👍
I lived 45 minutes away from marceline and I'm telling u the history for Disneyland is amazing especially in the museum we go there from time to time
It’s as if time stood still in Marceline. Charming video!
Me and my wife and 3 little girls thank of you as part of our family we can never a ford to go anywhere and experience such wonderful things we live our adventures thru you thank you so very much for all your hard work it's the Daly wooooooo so awesome
Thank you Adam for the awesome city of Kansas through Marcaline and all the history of Walt Disney and having Cody with ya he’s a blast as well very KQQL!! 😎🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
“Thank you Walt Disney” and thanks to Woo and Co-D from us viewers who get to see these kind of vlogs about historical places.
Always enjoy when you go there. What a cool town to spend the night in.
If you venture upstairs in Union Station, there is a wall about Walt and his relation to the station and trains.
I am glad to see that this building, still exits. ( The Studio that is) Hopefully they continue to restore it someday.
dear adam. i love your vlogg's i look forward to them you take me place's i can't go any more. when you say join me shall you me reply hell yeah he he.. thank you adam you are just awesome. take care and god bless you
Wow, Adam comes to KC!! Amazing! Thank you for showing off our Disney history!!
5:16 That is the old TWA office for Kansas City. The spaceship up top is actually a reproduction, although it’s done so well you really can’t tell. The Kansas City aviation museum also has a reproduction of it. Unfortunately the original is long gone.
What a special town Walt Disney lived in and all the inspiration for all the characters he created and the buildings and the streets and everything that was modeled after this Walt Disney town. The real Main Street USA and the train he rode on. Thank you Adam and Co-d for showing us where it all began with Walt Disney.
Thank you for mentioning 66hellride. I miss him. I sometimes go back to his channel and watch his videos. He was a good guy. God bless him.
Great video. Thanks for taking two minutes today before you left St. Louis and saying hi when I stopped you on your way out of the hotel.
Wow sure did like like Main Street in Disneyland. What a wonderful tribute to his hometown. Thanks Adam really loved this edition.
One of the greatest RUclips videos I’ve ever seen. Walt Disney Elementary. ⭐️
This shows you anything can be attainable with focus and passion. He failed many times with rejection before his big success. Do what you love and it will follow through.
Thanks for another enjoyable video. I love the quiet moments.
No Mickey or Oswald anything ever happened in that building. They began the Alice Comedies there, which is the product they took with them to California to continue producing there. The rabbit (and subsequently the mouse) came years later.
Thanks Co-D for shooting the last Coke sceen with Adam. Great seeing where it all started. Does the museum receive funding from Disney?? This is a national treasure for Walt and what he created in his animated, fun, entertaining world.
Thanks for the vlog of my birth place and Walt Disney boy hood home Adam.
I love hearing the trains throughout... It makes me think that its Walt saying hello!
I love how the forest where the mouse came from is still there. I am kind of fine with it not being a gauche tourist spot museum tbh.
Just think. WED interprise is worth billions. Why can't they fix up the building.
@David Gintis Somehow I missed that. What a bunch of jackasses. No respect.
@David Gintis I find this hard to believe, Roy Disney was still around.
🤣 Cody = comic relief! I always enjoy and appreciate your posts Adam!! Stay well and warm....
Poor Cody looks absolutely frozen, he won't forget this trip !
Amazing sights and Main Street is awesome...where it all began ....great as usual Adam! 😎
Inadvertent railfanning too!
Poor CoD is gonna be froze solid if you don’t get him back to Florida soon!
That was really fun & interesting. Thank Adam & Co-D. 💕🐭😃
Wow! Thank you so much for doing this. And I loved the sound of the trains on occasion going by. It just adds to the ambiance! We fans all know how much Walt loved his trains :)
So incredible. Finally got a chance to watch this entire video and oh my goodness. Just fantastic.. totally got teary eyed a few times! Can’t wait to visit this place someday
Glad you enjoyed it Katie . It’s a wonderful place
great vid, great information, from the UK and did not know about this place so learn something new everyday. thank you.
Another great plethora of Awesomeness.
Thanks adam and cody for sharing this Disney adventure pretty awsome cody is cute
That theatre in.Marceline, wow thanks for this
Very cool. This is a must see for us now! Thanks for sharing!
Marceline an amusement in of itself,a home away from home,an inspiration to us all!
Wish I had known you were going to Marclene.
I live about 30 minutes away.
I could have shown you around.
That was a nice video. I had never seen where IT all began! Love the history! 🐁
Fantastic...if I ever win the lotto im so going to make that poor old building a Museum ... Been to that train station a time or two I love the details and its so awesome that it has a childrens museum attached
I like how the caboose still has the letters A, T, S, F on it. For those who didn't know, the railroad was originally called the Atchison, Topeka, and the Santa Fe Railroad. Of course, that was because it began in Atchison, KS, went through Topeka, and ended in Santa Fe, NM. It is also significant because it has been memorialized by the song in the movie "Gibson Girls", with Judy Garland. Good stuff!
Here's the song! ruclips.net/video/_qBBc4lgO9I/видео.html
When you were showing the white gazebo and you heard the train in the background after whistled I was expecting you to say… Nailed it LOL
Adam we ( my family) have been watching you for year's! Due to your comment on my cousin's channel from Japan! In 2011 we been trough alot in the last 9 years I comment rarely, we appreciate the link to Super Enthused that feb night last year ... To your Father JW! Mom & Sis, a great family, thanks for going back to the Bonnie & Clyde for the inside veiw! Nicely done! your a special person with a gift Adam! Thank's for all you do! That was very cool Adam (and Co-D)! Thankful God shared Walt with us all.
You’re always good for a few chuckles 🤣
Opening, the wall behind you has The " I s i s " theater and a Mickey head.....crazy. Thank you for this tour, it's interesting to have a visual of the "beginnings" of one of my favorite places in the world!
More awesomeness from you Adam! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Remember visiting Marceline as a young boy, hardly remember anything but I do remember all those trains and the train museum
The trains still pound through here 50-70 per day...
Watching this in a beautiful nice warm Disneyland day !!
Thunderstorms now
Good Sir .... in KC now at the thank you Disney site ... really awesome 😎 place thank you for this video 💕
This is one of your best episodes Adam imo. Thank you!
I stayed in the uptown theater for my birthday this January! So happy you made this ❤️❤️
AMAZING ADVENTURES! Have lots of FUNNN
They should turn the laughagram building into a museum with a theater that plays old shorts
our ATW should do it,...with Carpetbagger!
Thanks for filming this, Adam! It was cool to see the street at night...
I love these videos, Adam, when you visit rare and largely undocumented historical sites. I am amazed that the first studio where Disney worked, and found the inspiration for Mickey, is not designated an historical site. Same with the home his family briefly lived in.
FABULOUS, absolutely tremendous coverage... You guys did a great job... Adam, thank you for this super video and every one of them. No road trip would be complete without a train or two. Downtown, at night, totally deserted... EPIC 👏🏆🎊
I must put this on my bucket list!
"At least you have gloves."
"Yeah, 'cause I'm smart."
Awesome video Adam. We were there once too. We stayed in the city park in our RV. The town is very welcoming. It’s amazing how low key the town is . This should be a major attraction, but it’s just a sleepy little American town. I encourage everyone to explore this location.
Thanks for these Vlogs Adam. I love traveling.
Such a cool video. Thanks for sharing. I need to add these sites to my bucket list of things to visit
Loved this, thanks Adam!
Awesome 👍 Adam, Educational thanks Joe
Thank you for taking us along on that secret path to look at Walt's office. I was four years old again. Those shots along Main St. USA were beautiful. And after the train passed by, you even caught the Sounds of Silence. Pure Magic! Good cinematography work Cody! Thanks you two!
That bedspread with the Mickey's on it was pretty Nice!......
That was awesome, thanks for showing off such a special place.
Hey dude! Thanks a lot for sharing all these stuff. You leave the opportunity to some of us outside the US to visit a great historical places we won't be able to visit ever in our lifes. Congrats and greetings from Spain.
Amazing history lesson.
