  • Today is our first day with full packs for a while. We hiked 15.8 miles from Forest Service Rd. 10 to Clarendon Shelter. It was tough with full weight, but we made it successfully.

We are praying for you two. I can hear the exhaustion--mentally--in your words but understand...we are (as best we can) behind you and encouraging you to the goal! Keep going Rob and Gavin!

The bug buzzing when you were showing the airport was perfect timing.

You boys have traveled 1700 miles.shout that out! You have walked and limped and scrambled and navigated and persevered!!!! Those 1700 miles prepare you for the finish line. The Whites, Mount Washington (and the rest of the presidents) and even Mama K are very doable because of all the hard work you and Hawkeye have put in. You are both very capable. You’ve proven that. Remember that!!!! We are all so proud of your accomplishments. We are praying for you both each day. I’m actually praying for safety and that you see a moose! I REALLY want you to see a moose and film it. Sending all the feels from home.

A hiker about 200 miles from K is feeling same as you guys. Kinda fatigued. Keep up the great hike, wish I was with you all.

When you get there, enjoy the White Mountains. They've been on my bucket list for 50 years and I might even make it there in the next year or two. Don't think of New Hampshire as a hard place, think of it as a once in a life time experience, probably more so than anywhere on the trail. Embrace these last few hundred miles. Remember some of the reasons y'all did this journey. I bet one of them was to see places like mount Washington from the trail.

I'm not certain but did I here you say those rocks look gorgeous? My how things have changed! I know you are worried about the Whites but I can't wait to see you there. Most beautiful wilderness of the trail I think. Getting hard but you are so close! Hang in there my friends!

Despite the reputation of “Vermud” it appears the trail surface hasn’t been that way for you.

How heavy on average are your packs, do you maybe lightening your pack weight would help with your tiredness?
