Actually I think it's Zimerman conducting tho, right? They only performed the last 3 together and then after Bernstein died, Zimerman completed the set by recording the first two concertos, both playing the piano and conducting. It was released as a complete cycle.
Es ist ein mitreissendes Werk, insbesondere mit Krystof Zimmermann oder auch mit den beiden Damen Buniatishvili (piano) und Marin Alsop (Drigat). Die letzten 34 Takte der Largo sind besonders euphorisierend.
“I'm not interested in having an orchestra sound like itself. I want it to sound like the composer.”
― Leonard Bernstein
Enfin une édition de partitions qui met les trilles au bon endroit, c’est beaucoup plus simple pour travailler. Merci.
What a brilliant performance, and what a wonderful piano - so bright and crisp! This whole thing is the sonic equivalent of a glass of champagne.
I have listened to other piano concerto in C major composed around the same time which is almost the identical twin to this concerto.

Great concerto!
Il più bello dei 5
Zimerman is a little hesitant in places & especially so in the cadenza !
Growing up listening to Claudio Arrau recordings of Beethoven w/ Sir Colin Davis conducting - it's difficult to listen to anything else.
The end of 1st mvt is triumphant
first symphonic work of Beethoven
nope
@@sierramist9521 yes? It is
@@natcharmusic nope, his second piano concerto was actually his first. Look it up.
@@sierramist9521 well this has a lower “opus” number than his second
@@natcharmusic What does a number matter? He wrote the one in b flat first, that's a fact.
